I don't know what you guys are all arguing about. Bountying the bounty hunter that 10 stam clears you  has always been frowned upon. Bountying the bounty hunter that 100 stam hits you has always felt ok to counter bounty the hunter because of the huge hit to experience. There has always been a respect code to in response to bounty hunter hits since I joined the game 4 years ago.

 

I think we should take away counter bounties for 10 stam bounty hunters and leave the counter bounty in place for the de-leveler and 100 stam bounty hits. Doing this would fit into the respect code that most the community has gone by for years!

Against Titan scripts:
We all love this, but I'm afraid that will not stop the cheaters for good.

Ladder bounties:
You can post only 1 bounty per ladder reset, not for each attack on ladder. If you're on the BB and someone from your ladder hit you, you should be able to place another bounty on him.
(I never losted more than 2,5lvls per reset, with 1 bounty you're able to lose 5lvls, fair enough to me)

Posting bounty hunters:
If the winner used only 10stam hits he should not be bountyable, anyone else who hit on the same bounty should be bountyable.

Making BB even more dead is not the answer to make the BB alive...Simple as that.

About the only thing that even sounds relevant to anything here is the bounty board items...unless you plan to introduce a new script that allows you to make the determination of intent of the hunter then its not plausible to change the boards at all.

 

Ladder hits not being bountyable, sounds fine though now the scared potato doesnt need to worry about being mashed.

 

Titans, blah blah, who really cares...Most of us don't use scripts and therefore can't keep up with the donating offenders so we don't bother with that aspect.

You seem to be conflating donators with scripters. If I donate I must therefore also script? If I donate enough do I get access to a scripting drop down menu I can use?

 

If anything I would say scripters are taking advantage of donators by obtaining high value items and then selling them to people who buy the items with FSP gained via donation.

 

I have noticed, and do not like, a general sneering at donators on the forum. What gives? How does that do anything other than split the community further?

 

I think HCS have finally seen that there is a systemic issue with titan hunting, and are addressing it. I hope successfully.

I hope the cows read some of these comments before implementing the PROPOSED changes.

 

Most people love the titan update ... who doesn't want an equal playing field with titan hunting?

 

But as for the Ladder and Bounty Board changes you really need to weigh the pros and cons of the situation. As many have pointed out (including myself) there are FAR TOO many abuses that can happen with removing bountying of both the ladder and bounty board.

Its kind of too late in terms of the titan hunting issue though. Massive profits have already been earned unfairly with scripts. Rectifying that would be a nice sign by the cows (adding better security is a start). although not sure how you would go about that.

Hi there Everyone.
 
A few things this evening.
 
First, we have made a new update to the code for Titan Hunting. This activates in a Realm where a Titan is spawned and will allow us to better track and stop scripting.
 
Second, we are looking to update the Bounty Board sometime next week with the following : PvP Ladder hits will no longer be bounty-able and Bounties will no longer expire.
 
Furthermore, we are thinking that anyone who takes a bounty cannot be bountied for taking it. This would mean being a Bounty Hunter would no longer be more damaging to the Hunter, making it a viable part of the game again. However, we would like constructive feedback regarding this.

First, Titan hunting doesn't really affect me. So that one is what it is.

 

Second, PvP ladder hits should have been made unbountyable LONG ago. You opt-in to the ladder fully knowing you are going to be hit and hit repeatedly. If you can't take the abuse, you should sit on the bench and just watch the game. As for those saying bountying people who "cheat" on the ladder, then opt-in, and smash them every hour on the hour with every bit of stam you have. They will stop, though i'm not real sure how they are cheating on the ladder. 

 

Now, the big one. Bounty hunters who clear with 10 stam hits, in & out, it would be fine if they weren't bountied. But making anyone who hits on a bounty immune would kill guild wars. The bounty board is the fighting and smashing grounds for guild wars and should remain that way. My worry was losing lots of lvls bounty hunting if these changes go through I will try my hand at it :D if not I wont and continue to hunt/se slay :(

Comments like this either bother me or amuse me... I can't figure it out...

So way back when the EOC'rs were intentionally delevelling and asking for 100 stam hits, a lot of folks were having a freak out.

Was it a live BB? yes.

Were people happy? no.

 

One reason for the dissatisfaction was the "watering" down of the smasher medal which no one seems to have a problem with when other medals are watered down as Belaric succinctly pointed out in his novel. So this is a junk excuse.

 

I think (and this is the part that bothers me) the real reason is because there is no joy in clearing a bounty for someone who is willing. It's way more fun to "punish" or make someone feel extremely uncomfortable. I'll be the first to admit in my previous life as the worst kind of pvp'r, I really got an adrenaline rush by the flow of nasty PM's I received.

 

The change proposed by HCS is good imo as a select few guilds pretty much punished anyone that didn't follow the unwritten rules of the BB. This frees it up for the rest of the population to take part without severe consequences from teh select few.

 

Just my humble opinion.

Everyone should try bounty hunting, is not that bad, really, I NEVER got bountyed for doing 10stam clears, doesn`t matter if those guys are hardcore PvPers or just levellers.

It's very rare someone having problems with that

PVP hits should be expanded to include more levels, or anyone should be able to hit anyone.

 

Bounties should have a level restriction, so you can retaliate against all hitters.

 

Counter bounties should have a level restriction, so anyone hitting can hit back and counter bounty.

 

Keep the hits coming.

 

taking a bounty should not cost tickets, placing a bounty should continue to cost tickets.

On the extreme, try clearing a bounty on an almost expiring bounty for a player in special guilds and see what happens. You will lose 5 levels with far fewer participants so how is current mechanic ism better?

That's what i meant. I just re read it and yeah it does sound like i meant no matter how much stam the winner used lol. But yes the person who wins the bounty using 10 stam hits, as a normal clear wouldn't be able to be bountied. All others would be so we can keep smashing and get punished for it LOL.

At least on current system the player attacked can place an bounty on those that have drop him 5 and so on if he attack an player on his pvp range from that guild.

 

Also, on my example above was to try to explain that making 10 stm hits unbountable won't help and also there could be that exploit (an normal 10 stm hits from an single player on bb are generally not placed on bb but sometimes it is placed by mistake or on purpouse, so I'm for if the player that completed (only one) the bounty with 10 stm hits not go to bb on any case, being unbountable)

Funny...  No were in this game description does it state this is a pvp game!!  It merely states there are many different aspects for the in-game play. We all have our own reasons and things we enjoy about the game.  Some GVG, some PVP, some hunting Elites and Titans, Some who just like playing to meet new friends.

 

We already have 3 forms of PVP protection that can be bought if you do not like to PVP.

However, we would like constructive feedback regarding this.  Bad call on this one,  If you elect to take the bounty then you are subject to repercussion.  Now there used to be some logic or Honor code that if cleared with 10 stam hits you were good in most players books, there were those who would still bounty the Hunter, they were added to a list and smashed harder any future time on the bounty board.
 
 
GVG, is another aspect that has fallen to the way side,  It is harder and harder to find target guilds to play with.  We have way to many Inactive guilds or dead guilds that show on the A to Z list,  can we fix this or have a filter  built to search for guilds we can fight.  Prime example, if i have a 7 player GVG team, let me place their levels in the filters, then click submit, search, find..  what ever you want to call it button. And have it search for guilds the way it does for pvp targets.
 
Another option to fix this would be for small guilds to merge, With the founders each retaining ownership of their former guilds gear.  The Merging guild founder then has no rights to new gear purshased for the larger guild, unless they become the Founder. ( but still has rights to his gear he brought with them in the merger)
 
I personally feel this last idea would help promote the game in a better fashion than thousands of small struggling guilds, that try to recruit new players, that play then quit, as they are pawned upon by more well founded and well funded guilds.

You still remembering that y0da's case everytime?
We explained the reason was not only the bounty about to expire, but the trash talk. Happened only one time, and we had 2 bounties on him, and done a delevel only on one, the second one was not even placed.

The answer for that kind of (as you say) "abuse" is to make impossible to place a bounty on the B Hunter?
How anyone will be placed on BB at first place? Only for those who do gold hits?
GvG = not bountyable
BB hits = ?not bountyable?
Ladder hits = ?not bountyable?

That will make the BB completelly DEAD.

At least they could indeed. And get into a guild war which the player that did the deed didn't want to do. Your saying the current way is better? Really?

Sure it's exploitable but that's a hard exploit. If a guild will go to that extreme, good for them! Being able to do it with a handful of players is a much worse exploit IMHO.

So if it's normal for 10 stam clears not to be bountied then you don't mind the rule right? It just reinforced this honor code right?

Ladder hits not been bountable +1 (those that accept the ladder accept the risk to lose exp on doing so)

But against players on the ladder. Because if any attack do not be able to be bountable players would abuse this exploit (joining ladder to farm as much pvp prestige they want from player outside the ladder and them opt out without getting an bounty on his/her head).

 

There is only 1 prestige point gained from ladder hits, so you have to be a very patient prestige farmer amd they should be farmed back in return.  It's a battle zone.
