Is it maybe a good idea to change this medal once and for all?
It would be nice to to have a fighting chance to get this medal without maxing out all your credit cards.
Top 100 within certain time periods would be more realistic.
Just a thought as i don't see myself banking over 9 billion gold anytime soon.

Top 3... Most i'd allow credit for. People went to immense lengths to earn it. Let's not tarnish it.

The top hoarder medal is now essentially unobtainable for the vast majority of the game. The current top hoarder did not spend his way there by and large, he excelled at arena (when that was a very valuable skill), and at titans (when that was very valuable).
If it were to be changed, it ought be a new Top X medal (and not change the current Top 1 medal).

They've changed other medals and watered them down. Wasn't the chest medal pretty difficult to get way back when?
That doesn't mean it was a good idea.
Not every medal needs to be achievable for everyone. New'ish players will be hard pressed to get the Top 100 players medal, let alone the Best Player medal.

Why not, once the existing hoarder has reached the highest medal, "discount" him/her from the table ?
That way, once a player has been the richest for 2 yrs, he's "dropped off" the table allowing the 2nd richest to start his medal ticks towards the medal.
Needless to say, the original player still keeps the medal and future "ticks", in case the cows decide to create another medal tier .

Keep the medal, once you obtain Diamond(the current highest) level, then you are no longer eligible.

If we are going to make it for hoarder, the same should be done for any other medal?
Like, Top 10, Best Player and any other medal with "X days/hours" on it.

they should make it top 50 or 100. that still makes it a challenge and is actually obtainable. Making diamond medal people inelligible for hard to earn medals like (top 10 monthly, top 1 person overall, and top hoarder) makes a lot of sense.
I would do both suggestions.

what if your goal is to earn every medal? which I know many at EOC are interested in doing at some point? Seems kind of BS to put a 40-50k FSP barrier between you and achieving that.
yep, bit unrealistic, i dont think it is taking much away to make the diamond holders ineligble, wont change much only every two years unless u make it so activity removes u once u go inactive

Making those people who have already earned the medal not count is a bad idea. If you are not in the top 10 then you are not in the top 10.

i would suggest two lists like guild xp, though the official one is primarily shown, the second shows the person who is getting ticks plus has all the inactives removed, so eg, when u first click richest players now for instance it would still respectfully show placeboo as no.1.

I'd prefer two tabs one called "THE HALL OF FAME" this would be a list of the top 100 players who are inactive players for each category. Then "The Top 100 List" for active players. It's simple. It's fair. No one is discredited by it and it still gives people something to work towards. we need a fighting Champion medals would work retroactively... no different then someone signing up now and never being able to make it to the top 100 list without spending money you spend money to have a edge over everyone else it's just an advantage that shouldn't be taken away because without people spending this game wouldn't be here.
