Games that let you buy better gear or allow you to make better items then everyone else at a faster rate and then makes the game largely unbalanced even for people who have skill in the game without paying.

there it is text book definition

there is no gear you can buy, you cant buy stats in any form here so thats out.... you must be counting the exp pots in shop and ability to buy gems from other players as a "at a faster rate than everyone else that makes the game largely unbalanced"?

but can you not fairly easily get the same gems they just baught? you'ld just have to work at it a bit... so whether or not it makes it unbalanced is decided by your availability to be online/laziness (not saying you're lazy just speaking in general)

and then exp pots....   does a paying player having to kill 1/3 less mobs to gain a level really make the game largely unbalanced?.... really?......

eh i stick with my comment about eldevin is not pay to win but infact pay for convenience

Although! it could be better classified as "Time to Win" where as those that can spend the most time in game has such a huge advantage that players with more limited time could never catch up. but aside form exp limits and/or energy systems added to the game there is no way to really change that.

That being said, they do have boosts...

soooooooooooooooooooooo... I can see how some might think it's p2w. but, with the aspect of EP being unbound and sellable, once purchased, diminishes that point slightly.

50 quests to level up to level 1?  I am sorry, but are we playing the same game? i have a few characters and most of my levels come from quests...  People often complain that blah blah this quest is go here kill xx, collect xx.  Yeah.  so?  That is what RPG's do.

But being able to take on unlimited quests, and getting usually about 10-15x the exp for finishing a quest as it takes to kill one of the critters to kill,m or get a drop from....  yeah that is slow leveling.....  I leveled myself from like levels 13-15 90% with just quests.  not going on arena runs or etc...   Those can be useful, but sometimes going off on your own is VERY productive.

If you did 50 quests and didn't level, (which i am pretty sure is d*** near impossible) maybe you should't have done every levelk 1 farming instruction quest and expect to max your level out.

I wonder how you will do dungeons when the timer is set to 1h. And Quests give way to low exp. I dont wanna do 50 Quests to lvl up 1 lvl. Thats insane and boring. Thats not quality content when you have to do that many quests to lvl up.

Yes you can buy gold with real cash- wich means you can max everything very fast. But the VIP on the other hand is a good idea. Elite Quests should be alot more rewarding- they are taken by risk and needs to be difficult. With that they should give more reward.

Thank you Telivar.  Every single game like this that has no "energy" or "action points" to move, etc, do anything will always have the highest levele dplayers as those who can spend the most time leveling etc, regardless of money.

But the community is such that, even small as it is, if you are polite and someone is around who can help.,  they will.

he said do 50 quests to level up 1 level. not get to level 1 and many times you are doing 50+ quests to not even get a level.  at lvl 42 you get just under 10k exp per quest. 50 quests is only 500k exp still need a LOT of exp to get that next lvl....

and you say so what that quests are "gather 50 of this"    or "kill 50 of this" repeate simply because most rpg's do that...  uhm seriously? most browser mmorpg's like this has an energy system so would that be ok here? make it like farmville (or wartune or crystal saga or any of the other crap fest games out there) get to do 20 things per day then done..... hell a lot of games are starting to have a max exp gain per day....  so what thats what rpg's do now so we got to be ok with it right?

no....  its up to the players to push the devs to do things differently where are the reasons for questing where are the things like allignment and quest path choices and anything else to make it not simply kill 50 gather 40 kill 200 repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat  infact most of the time its go back and repeat ON THE SAME MOBS... lol might aswell just stay and kill them i can kill more than 9 in the time it takes me to walk back and turn the quest in so i'ld gain more exp just ignoreing the quest and kill the mobs on my own anyway... but thats ok we should just accept it hahaha... k

I'll admit I stopped reading after the third page, so if this is echoing what someone else said, my bad:

People don't want Pay4Convenience. They want Pay4Cosmetics. A seriously dedicated player doesn't like seeing someone who just has more money than them get the items that they worked hard for instantly. That's just a stab in the heart and leaves people discouraged of even trying.

Also, I hate, hate, HATE this fanboy mentality that is abundant in these forums. Okay, so someone said they didn't like the game because of certain reasons, but they didn't give suggestions on how to improve, so for some reason their complaint is now invalid? Grow up. If there's a lot of negative feedback in the forums then something is definitely wrong and it's in the developers' best interest to please as many people as possible.

Pay4Cosmetics is a rare thing in the MMO world, but yes, that would be an absolutely ideal cash shop system if it was profitable enough for companies to use exclusively.

The reason why I dislike negative feedback without any constructive criticism is that it has a chain reaction effect: it acts as a precedent for other posters to also give solely negative feedback without constructive criticism, and it decreases player morale. It also makes the game look much less attractive to prospective players browsing this forum if the entire forum is cluttered with solely negative threads.

This does not in any way invalidate player complaints or criticisms if they are well-founded, and of course, it is each individual's right to make their opinions heard in whichever way they so choose. However, I stand by the belief that even the harshest of criticisms can still be made in a respectful and constructive manner, to the benefit of the community as a whole.

Call it fanboy mentality if you wish, but I have a strong desire to see a positive community atmosphere. Excessively negative posts, even if they may contain some justifiable criticisms, do little but polarize and damage the community.

Hello

I check from time to time the forum but not interested to play. So ive read the devs response to some cases (endgame content, new client, Auctionhouse and Guild). It seemed to me that those goals are far fetched when the population is now at 110players- decreasing every week.

Maybe there is no hope for Eldevin since new competition is on the way that does what Eldevin does, just better. But if the game releases with a new client- better fps wont save it either way. I played Eldevin even with this crap java engine- better fps wouldnt have let me stay either. The core game needs improvments, thats why Guilds, Auctionhouse  and other fixes must be released before client. Haunted Crow is clearly focusing at the big wales wich are lvl 45 already to provide them with new content, instead making the game bigger- they make it for low lvls even harder to catch up, low lvls will never make it to lvl 20. Ive had with my lvl 15 acc not a single lvl 45 help me doing lvl 10 or 15 dungeons, those that helped were lvl 20-30. That what i experienced wasnt nice and im sure alot of newb felt that way and will sooner or later leave the game without spending a dime.

Anyway, good luck to you all.

The population has gone down since release. There were upwards to about 200 people active, now there's about 170 people.

I didn't have any help from high levels with level 10 and 15 dungeons. I skipped ohdar and ran GC & SV with other level 25-28's. No high levels needed. You don't need high levels to get through the dungeons set for your level.

Noone is saying Eldevin is a bad game- but it seems like your easy to please. Good for them.

Okay, this post kind of pisses me off. Just because somebody likes Eldevin does NOT mean that they are "easy to please" or anything. I feel as if you're insulting the person who's "easy to please" for enjoying Eldevin. If they were so easy to please, they probably wouldn't even be PLAYING Eldevin because they would just play whichever MMORPG is the most popular like Runescape (which, by the way, I despise. The only thing better about Runescape is fishing, if you ask me, and that's just since it's easier and I'm lazy with it). They're here, playing this game that currently has a small community, and they're happy. I don't believe that that, in any way, equates to being "easy to please" so to speak. I just thought I'd stick this out there.

I agree with this. I realize that there are economic implications with this type of system, but I hope that HCS will consider moving away from the 'pay for convenience' model, and towards the 'pay for cosmetics' model. I think that a substantial number of players would see this as such a gesture of (idk what, goodwill?) that they'd be more likely to spend money on cosmetics than they would be to spend money for the needed/useful stuff now.

For example, I'm really poor right now, so I rarely respec. If the cost were lower I'd respec more, have the same amount of money to spend on the game, but would feel happy towards HCS for the change. I'd buy a cute pet. Amount spent on game = same, respect for HCS > increased.

Of course, if I'm wrong they'll lose money, so that's why I suggest moving in that direction slowly at first.

This game is not backed by a huge company. That is only a good thing in my opinion. I dont look forward to the day that millions of people play. Sure a couple thousand online at any given time would be great, and it WILL happen eventually. The small community here is what makes eldevin special. I could be wrong but from what ive gathered, the game was rushed out of beta. I remember hearing somewhere that the beta players wanted the game to go live and so the developers made that happen. What does that tell you about them? They are an awesome development team. If you have been here since beta or launch, just look at how far the game has come since then. Eldevin will never be as large as WoW or other MMOs backed by huge companies. For that I am thankful. I know a great deal of the population here. I enjoy that aspect of the game more than any feature that could be implemented. I think the game will really take off once steam is here AND guilds/auction house are in. My only advice for you, the staff, is to make guilds/AH happen ASAP. Guilds especially will satisfy a lot of current players, and make the game a whole lot better for new players too. I hope to see these two key features implemented before Steam arrives. The majority of new players I have helped ask me if there are guilds, or an auction house. We are holding steady for the most part on population. Though many players are leaving, many others are joining. We just need that extra push to get things flowing in the right direction. That push IS steam. Great job so far HCS!

Oh, and I played the ESO ( WIth 5 days early access ) launch and I wont be back. This games community is what keeps me coming back. ESO just couldnt compete in that fashion.
