I don't mean to offend anyone by this question I'm just wondering how long this game can last with such a small player base and little to no updates? I really enjoy the game but I'm scared to invest money into it and have it go bust.

Eld will be around for sure; this game has always had a small playerbase, except for the time it was released on steam were we had a couple months when population per server was 200-300+. Somwtimes u had more than 1k players online counting all servers, but that didnt last long.

Anyways the quality of this game is tremendous and HCS know of it,they have invested lots of money and work in this game so u can be sure they not gonna let it die like that. for now game is on standby but pretty sure they will at some point keep developing and look for solutions.

If u really like the game and u can afford it, best thing u can do is support it with some $, also suggest the game to your gamer friends.
u will be helping HCS to get resources to develop ur game.

As much as I hate to say it , about none of this is true. HCS really havent invested alot of money into Eld hence the low playerbase and lack of advertising . Elds issue really isnt its severely dated graphics , its the fact theres little to no real end game content so new players arent going to  stick around thru the dated looks if theres no real fun content at the end or even people to do it with. Why should they when theres many other free to play games pumping out content monthly like Blade and Soul. It also doesnt boad well  with new or even returning players that literally 80% of long time players no longer even play. Which is sad personally I like the game and if it was to be given over to a team that updated it regularly instead of taking two years just to make guilds a thing , then maybeit would have a chance. Otherwise ...to answer OP tbh in this day and age with games being born and dying out shortly after (BDO for example losing 60% of day 1 players a month in) Eld maybe can squeeze another year or two out of HCS since its very seldomly updated and is such low cost to run.

ugh  ... you just don't call me liar dude.  I have played this game since 2013 and i have followed all it's process and played trought the good and bad times like this. don't even know you wich means u probably haven't even managed to get to EOC or u are a very recent player. If you like other games better Go ahead and play them, pretty sure none will miss you here, but don't discourage players that want to actually Support eldevin,

I am enjoying the game. It gives me a late 90s, early 2000s nostalgic feel to me, but I might be dating myself. Whether or not this company goes under, I still appreciate the time they spent in making a game. Helps bring back an excitement the first time I felt when the internet was new and games were simple with tight-knit communities. I wonder where this went and why it can't be so again?

Have you actually looked around the first town and it's buildings? People opening and closing windows, pouring things out the window. Birds flying out of trees as you run by. It's little details like that is what is making this game fun for me. And barfing drunk people. It's a chill game.

I'm willing to pay $7 at least once to enjoy my time. It doesn't feel overly complicated and is a nice time killer, even if it's a short time. You'll beat the game before you burn out. Not really seeing the problem. The things I spent on RL stuff, $7 doesn't feel like much.

I mean, in the end it's up to you how you enjoy your games. You are not obliged to pay anything really. But it's like throwing in a tip or something to someone who provided an service to you. Feels natural to me.

I feel bad they are hitting hard times. I hope they don't give up, but they if they don't want to deal with it, they won't. Unless they sell the game or change something in their company... kinda just is what it is. Yes?

Are my eyes playing tricks on me or is that actually raz, ernz and derpy all in one forum thread?

I dont regret any of my playtime either from mid beta in 2013 till now, racked up about ~2.6k hours give or take but i will still try to pop in every now and then to catchup with all the people i met over the years.

Just stick around for the time being, it is enjoyable and as previously stated it is a good time killer.

I agree with all of Raz's comments anyways, they're pretty much my views and i'm sure a lot of others.

u talk of the dated graphics but do u realise how many people can competitively play those high end games, of the people that can play online games, slight frame rate disruption which prob happens so easy for many, a lil shock in net and half your team is dead, for most people that prob happens 10 times more often than in a game like eldevin, do u realise how frustrating it even is at this level, get a freakin clue ;)

edit: to save u time ill also state, disagreeing will just show a severe case of lacking in commonsense :-)

oh gods, someone needs to make a video of a cop drawing aggro from a mob of protesters, that gets too large and lead the party to death.   muahahaha.  just for the good old days.  tank armor will be replaced with riot gear obviously.  but standard fighter gear.mage.healer, etc gear for rest of the party..... muahahahahaa.

With due respect, anybody that thinks that HC has not invested substantial money to develop Eldevin is sadly mistaken and has no clue.  I have been involved with game development and can assure u that the cost of this product is certainly well over $1 million. What many fail to realize is that so many mmo's fail because too many gamers expect to play for nothing forever and when development slows or stops they leave for the next fated-to-fail mmo....   do those who are so critical of HC think that the company is comprised of independently wealthy individuals who do this as a charity ?  C'mon  if u enjoy this game be a supporter with positive comments if not RL money!  It's not like HC is asking all that much to be a supporter.

yeah gotan, they spent 8 years gathering funds and slowly making this game.  a lot of time and effort were put into it.  for a while only a few people were coding this game.
