In short, I'm making this thread after going through the semi embarrassing processing of explaining to HCS that my 10 year old sister deleted all my inventory (including my double Max haste staff)
Since there are many Eldevin players who have small, devious children in the home with them I suggest adding a log out after x amount of minutes with no movement/chat feature and the player can adjust it to his or her liking
Ex: I set it to log me out of my character after 5 minutes
BUT
I also suggest adding a 4 digit pin a player can toggle on and off and set it for anything he or she wants not limited to:
Equipping gear
Vendoring things
Buying things
Deleting things
Making in game shop purchases
Just to name a few...

Get all her toys and break them tell her you thought it would be funny and cut up her clothes and say you are deleting them ................

Curious as to why?  What's the difference whether you log out, or are auto-logged?  That 5-10 minute gap still leaves opportunity.

 

Anyway, I have no objection to this enhancement.  But it sounds like a fair amount of work, and IMHO there are many far more important enhancements for HCS at the moment.  May still be too much effort at this time, but perhaps a compromise with a 'get it back' option (for both sales and deletes) usable until you log off.

Why not just log out manually?

You could set your computer to auto-lock (go to password screen) after 'x' minutes of being idle. That way she can't get into anything else on your computer either.

As long as everyting you suggest is optional, and I can still stay logged in and not have a pin code, then I am fine with it.

 

One thing to consider. Some tasks, like cooking a whole inventory of food, can take a very long time, and it would probably be pain to have to move around occationally to prevent you from being logged out. If log out is disabled during such a task, it is the same as it being disabled altogether, and your sister can still get at it.
