I am not going to qoute everything because I don't care enough to do so but a few thoughts on things I saw.

Gold hitting is stealing. Stealing is bad. You go to jail in real life for doing such a thing. In other time periods they cut off an arm. Gold stealing carrying a 5 lvl punishment is just

Interesting analogy. I wonder why the bounty hunters face the same punishment as the bad thieves? Are you advocating no counter bounties?

if you wish to increase the activity of the bb...get rid of counter bounty...should have never been allowed in the first place..and thxs jedi for seeing the whole picture...most cant do this..as i am reading his thread..and if you really want to increase pvp activity..try this ( not sure i even like my own idea here) ..pvp outside the bb- 100 stam hit = 1% loss of xp...10 stam hit = .1% loss of xp...but the loss gets transfered to the attacker, and if attacker loses..the % get transfered the other way....then on the bb - 100 stam hits causes 5% loss to hunted and no xp transfer for hunter...but if hunted beats hunter..the hunter not only loses 5% but that is also transfered to hunted.. and 10 stam hit .5% loss the same way...NO COUNTER BOUNTIES AT ALL, the bounty hunters would have some risk for trying to be a bounty hunter by losing some xp if they cant beat the hunted........%'s can be tweaked to what ever the pvp community deems goo, but low enough to promote activity....and all gold theft % should be increased..

Mentioned the whole xp transfer many times. Seen it suggested many times as well. Shot down repeatedly heh. Counter-bounties happen due to the fact hunters sometimes earn a reposting,or they just tinkled off someone.(same for off the board hits). Heck , war's depend on the board.  Seeing as hourlies are often/seemingly always reported to hcs, the board is where most damage happens.

Jedi, I know you have been pushing for this sort of thing for years.  Don't see it happening though.  There are many things I agree with here... I won't say what, though, because I don't want to come under fire.  That seems to happen a lot lately.

I'm too lazy to quote everything. I'll just put that out there now.

Speaking as a bounty hunter, the removal of counter bounties is naive. You're essentially suggesting a change that would destroy pvp. The bounty board is where the fighting takes place. You're removing a players ability to respond to hostile actions. Bounty Hunters go into it with the knowledge they run a risk. And we know how to handle the players who post bounties on clean clears.

Jedi, I'll try to respond to your questions as best I can. Sorry if it seems jumbled. Every change to PvP has hurt that area of the game. But we've found a way to adapt and work within the system. We'll continue to do so. It's not what it use to be. It'll never be again.

I'm not the type to make threats. I speak with my stam in the game. I truly do believe that the threat of xp loss helps keep the jerk pvp players in line. Without a way to defend against constant attacks, trash talking, etc, these types of players will run rampant in the game.

PvP prestige should be about PvP. PvP comes with risk. If you want the bonus that comes from pvp'ing, you need to get out there and do the work. Not run around demanding free hits to benefit your character while taking away from another. 10 stam or 100 stam hits, it's the risk you take in pvp. People need to suck it up and quit looking for easy win buttons. PvP isn't meant to easy.

So let me ask, without xp loss, how would you deal with constant attacks and trash talking against your character, friends, or guild? Ask them nicely to leave you alone? Report it to HCS and see if they will do anything?

Ignoring your sarcasm, I didn't say anything of the sort. In fact I also went on to say if you are attacking someone for a reward(which is what a bounty is) there has to be a risk. That risk is a counter bounty. Its already bad enough the bounty hunter doesn't lose XP for losing an attack.

Sarcasm? I'm following your analogy. You said bad thieves need to be punished. That analogy doesn't fit bounty hunters since they don't get punished in RL. They might get attacked by the bounty target but they aren't punished unless they break the law in pursuit of said bounty otherwise they make a living off of the rewards. so the analogy only fits the thief but not the bounty hunter? Odd analogy.

Yes. Report to HCS. We have no need for that type of behavior in game. What if that type of abusive player that you like to punish had the same power and influence you did in game. What then? there are 2 sides and one side isn't always right.

Then it would be one hell of a fight, which would be a blast! We've needed a good guild war for ages!

 

But in all seriousness, I wouldn't say I have power or influence. I'm just one of the group of pvp players remaining in the game. Some like me, some don't. I have my friends backs and they have mine, so long as I didn't start it. Everyone has the ability to do anything that the rest of us do in the game. Some things will be done better by some groups, while other groups will do better elsewhere. It would be incredibly boring if we were all the same, don't you think?

 

I think you will rarely find any side that is completely right or completely wrong in any issue. Things are not usually that black and white.

I don't disagree. (Double negative). One side may be more wrong then then other But one side has significantly more power then the other. To give up that power would suck so I can see why people fight the change.

IMO to increase PvP activity is to revert back to the orignal PvP system BEFORE the many PvP RESTRICTIONS !!!!

3 players on iggy (1 troll & 2 players whose posts never make any sense)

Bring back PvP ranking for EVERY attack, winner take all.... make the ladder mean something again.
