I am currently trying to reach level 11 of foraging to be able to fullfill a quest - the thing I find is that once I have collected all my required base materials and I start forging I get the same animation for each number of forging I have selected. So when I slect to forge 20 copper bars I have to watch 20 times the same animation.

I would like to see that condensed to 1 animation for the max number of times either I requested or until any of my base resources runs out.

Currently I tend to minimize the screen and do something else waiting for the process to be finished and I don't think that's what you want

I also believe it will be the same for any secondary processing, cooking, tanning and so on

Anyone agrees?

I agree,

Processing can be long, maybe increase the number of processed items at a time, like 5.  Making it equal to your selected number of processed items would be a little exagerrated in my opinion ( Ex: Cutting 99 gems in one shot :P)

I disagree.  Crafting is supposed to be painful, otherwise everyone would do it.  That's the nature of MMO crafting.  Reaching maximum in any profession should be a major achievement.

Once the game is released, you should be able to save time by buying the raw materials, rather then gathering everything yourself.  You could also select just 1 or 2 professions to concentrate on, and buy everything else.

What I would change is the 99 limit on purchasing mats or stacking the operation.  A limit of 999 would make life far easier.

Meleager, ranger

Tuor, templar (Inactive)

Deimos, mage

Thangbrand, warsin (Mostly on vacation)

Bart, ??? (bene trades)

The only thing I noticed is that if you take all the time that you spent crafting and use it to quest and lvl, you'll find better gear than the crafted one.  Or, if the crafted one is slightly better you will still outgrow it.  That is, for professions used for crafting gear.

So I guess that you have to see crafting as an investment for the end-game, where crafted items become much more stronger.

Other than that, now that I think of it, I like Irradiated's idea.

Im much happier with this than with the gathering. You can at least set the crafting/refining to do 99 in a single command and then go and do something else for 5 minutes. You can't do that with the gathering. If HCS would allow a 3rd digit in that field then it would be even better.

Mind you, the "crafting is supposed to be painful" argument holds absolutely no resonance with me. I play games for fun - not for pain. it may be more realistic for crafting to take time and pain, but this is a game we are playing here.

Robet (Proph 49)   Orbet (mage 49)  Ebrot (magepro 49)

Tebor (warsin 49)   Orteb(sin 49)  Beort (warsin 49 - might become tank)

Betro (ranger 49)   Trobe (??? 6 - there for bene runs - just whisper

It's not even an issue of crafting being 'painful'. That just tends to be the overall result in some people's opinions. What it comes down to is that if everyone can quickly and easily become a master craftsman, then they likely will do so. Which in turn destroys any semblance of a functioning economy in the game. You end up with far too much supply and far too little demand.

Whether this is a big issue for Eldevin I'm not really sure. Themepark games generally have very dubious economies anyway. But there have been mentions of an Auction House making it into the game at some point. If that's the case, then the balance of difficulty and time investment for crafting becomes much more important.

Crafting gathered items (bars, ingots, cloth, etc) have recently been updated to allow you to craft them in bulk. Or 5 of them at a time. You're also able to craft more than 99 of them at a time, provided you have the materials.
