my log says I earned 25 loyalty points for merging my character into the new system    but i don't see those points anywhere - also found a pocketful of bound holiday potions in inventory

 

are you sure it said points? because when I started back up again, I got 25 loyalty potions

The trick is to know when to use what,  and not rely on the idiocy of popular convention. 

 

A risen mage has crappy stats, so they are actually quite easy to kill, if you plan accordingly.
