Incoming Patch : Game Update 1.8

We're planning to update the game to version 1.8 next week. We'll follow up with in-game news once we have the precise patch time. 
 
Facebook Gameroom
The Game will now be playable via Facebook Gameroom!

Region Merge
Beginning the week of Monday the 30th of October a new 'Blackout' Event will be announced on specific regions. If your region is chosen then controlling both Territory and the Mothership will reward your Alliance in a final event before you merge to a new more active region full of new locations and high-level resource tiles. Full details of the Region Merge will follow in-game soon.
 
Features
  • Added main missions for building the Shard Reactor.
  • Steam players can now correctly receive the Shards from their Shard Reactors.
  • Nuclear Silos and Motherships now always correctly update in real-time.
  • Multiple daily events can now be run simultaneously.
    • Starting the weekend of the 4th of November we'll be running new flash events as well as the normal daily events you are used to. We're looking forward to player feedback on this.
    • Daily events are also being renamed to Challenges. This is to distinguish them from the weekend events we run several times a month.
Bugs
  • Fixed an issue where some players were not receiving rewards from video missions.
  • Fixed the colouring of player names on the world map.
  • Updated the Upgrade Outpost panel to make it more intuitive to use.
  • Fixed colour errors in the video mission icons.
  • Fixed an issue with Missile Silos which, if watched, were repopulating incorrectly.
  • Empty tiles around the mothership and silos now correctly identify as empty tiles.
  • Fixed an issue where clicking a deployment in the hangar would display a time if the deployment was securing, it now shows the infinity symbol.
  • Fixed an issue where potentially the deployment boost panel could stay open even if the deployment could not be boosted.

Nice to see that Steam users will finally be able to benefit from the shard reactor. But, it looks like the focus has been on getting Facebook Gameroom up rather than fixing the problems (like significant imbalance)  or addressing key user suggestions, but maybe Facebook will bring in more players to get stomped by the pay to win players and provide some distraction.  :)

 

 

Question regarding the region merge, will players in an alliance be merged into a common area? If not, will players at least receive teleports to facilitate alliance unification/coordination?

lol,u can currently play the game in facebook game room even now without 1.8 <_<-i have played in gameroom since the shard reactor was available.

"and high-level resource tiles" hmm maybe you listen to me,we shall see haha

as it looks like the event will give rewards,of which should include a few free teleports

As already said you can already play in game room. Have for a while. Some in our Server Believe region merging is the path to finally kill the game. The shard reactor is a complete waste of time. I have fb loads of people as friends no one plays the game. Some people don’t have fb accounts. Ever since the game launched people have been asking to address the game imbalances but that has never been done. Rally’s are a waste of time. Even the description of it being a mmo game is not correct. New players come on seeing that. Quickly see it;s nothing more than a pvp game after being hit by someone with many times there power. Then quit. Still has potential to be really good if only you listen to all that has been said in the past. I know hcs is not a big company. However that’s no excuse for the way the game plays after being around over a year. And I appreciate a lot of games are p2w. Just make it more balanced.

Thanks for the feedback guys, we're certainly looking at improving the game and we're already working on the 1.9 update in which your Hero will be able to craft and equip gear and also hunt new types of enemies found on the World Map.

 

Players who are merging will be able to choose where they can merge to in the new region, via the relocation item.

We're going to be bringing the game offline on Monday the 30th at 1pm UTC for 2 hours. During this time we'll be updating the game to version 1.8! When the game comes back online at 3pm we'll be posting news about the upcoming Blackout Event and region merge to affected regions.

 

Sorry, this is a couple of days later than we had hoped. This will push the date of the new flash event back one week till the 4th of November.

Would you say roughly we are looking at mid November for the regional merges? I'm trying to get my alliance prepared.

The Blackout will last 1 week, full details will be posted on Monday 30th when the 1.8 update goes live.

I will reserve judgment, but I'm afraid the region merge will have the same success as the Mothership in terms of improving the game, in other words, none.

 

It seems to be that if they don't address the imbalances in the game then we'll just have more pay to win predators to deal with.

And not a word was spoken about excessive lag and the fact that the map rarely updates in real time. More features without fixing major bugs.

The game servers are now offline and we're rolling out update 1.8 to all platforms.

 

Downtime is expected to last 1 hour.

Shard reaction does not work on Steam. Upon clicking on the building the game crashes.

(Yes I know it works on facebook gameroom and android.)

 

 

Love the possibility to have multiple events at the same time. I hope you do this often!

Shard Reactor v Friends!

Why do we have to use Fakebook to connect with friends when activating the Shard Reactor as most everyone alludes to? Allowing the friend thread to run through Steam should be a no brainer because the Shard Reactor hasn't worked yet as it hasn't been integrated through the Steam system until later today as the update message states.

Thanks for the feedback, we'll investigate the problem with the Steam shard reactor and work towards getting this fixed in a future patch.

Game Update 1.8.1 has just been deployed. Patch notes are as follows :

 

Fixed an issue that could cause a disconnect when claiming challenge rewards.
Fixed an issue where the counter on Alliance help could display an incorrect value and fail to update.
