Another useful feature would be the implementation of an in game clock which would allow for chat logs to display the time they were posted.

For example:

[13:05] Onimura: Hello

[13:06] xxxxxxxx: Hi

Time stamping chat messages is possible to add before release, I'll see if I can fit that in. Displaying a time clock might need to be worked into the UI somewhere so I don't know if it's easily added.

It would use the local time for your computer.

I would rather not see this added. The message box is so small and hard enough to get an amply statement out sometimes. Truncating it is not the way to go. Anything time stamped should not last long enough in your open box to make a difference before being excised. If it isn't, then not enough will be playing the game and your character would have been sitting unused for hours and hours, logged in while you were afk. Please spend your time working on other parts of the game.

I like this idea for one specific reason.  I never intentionally ignore someone, but do miss messages for a variety of reasons (afk, zoning while gathering, difficult quests, multitasking, more).  When I see a message, it would be nice to know whether I've kept someone waiting (don't want to be rude :) )

But maurybund's concern about space is valid.  I also agree we shouldn't truncate the messages further, or increase the box size (good on larger display, but could get in the way on smaller ones).

Ideally, I'd love a toggle so I could display the timestamp for a moment, then turn it off again.
