#981160 Map Direction

Posted by Xero on 23 May 2017 - 11:54

Hi there.

Indeed, the compass should be rotated to face north. The way you view it is the way we perceive it too. I'll have the icon fixed for a future update.

#965305 Development Update

Posted by Xero on 06 July 2016 - 11:29

Hoofmaster, Eldevin uses Java yes? do you guys plan to change it in 2017 before its not supported?

It's only the browser plugin that will stop in 2017, the standalone app will still work as before. Java Web Start seems likely, although I can't confirm it right now.

#955375 Is Eldevin Music Royalty Free Music?

Posted by Xero on 17 December 2015 - 19:39

Hi,

I can confirm that a lot of Eldevin's music is licensed from a third party. The licenses allow for use from other people, although some offer exclusive ones. I've heard a couple of our tracks in other games! Was very strange! :)

#929744 Java alternitive

Posted by Xero on 24 April 2015 - 12:00

We haven't made any immediate plans, but will explore all of our options. It won't be as simple as converting from Java to something else though, it would take monumental effort and time.

I think the future of web games will be with WebGL, and with platforms such as Unity and Unreal now supporting deployment to that format, that's the likely route we would take. That's just my personal opinion though. WebGL can produce some pretty impressive results!

#919863 Yahoo Mail Issues

Posted by Xero on 16 February 2015 - 14:28

We've had a number of people reporting that our mail, validation ones specifically, aren't being received through Yahoo Mail.

Our mail is currently being blocked by them, probably due to many people marking them as spam mail. We are currently working with Yahoo to have this fixed as soon as possible.

We will be happy to switch anyone's email address in the meantime to a non-Yahoo one, until this issue has been resolved. Please do so by submitting a ticket.

#918293 Character Name Changes

Posted by Xero on 05 February 2015 - 14:47

Due to the recent high quantity of character name change requests, unfortunately we can no longer provide the service free of charge. Until we have a fully automated feature in place to allow this, please follow the following procedure if you wish to change a character name;

1. Send us a ticket naming the character your wish to change, and a list of 3 or more names you would like to change to.

2. We will respond to let you know which of those names are currently available to use, or request more alternatives if none are available.

3. When you decide the name you would like, visit https://www.huntedco...vin-name-change to purchase the name change and reply with your choice.

4. We will change the character name, pending it isn't taken by someone else during the process. In the event this occurs, you can either choose a new name or receive a full refund.

#914868 Camera Tilt Issue

Posted by Xero on 12 January 2015 - 17:17

It sounds like your systems are entering software mode as they aren't able to run OpenGL for whatever reason. For ease of dealing with your individual problems, could you please submit a ticket and we'll see if we can identify what's wrong?

#906094 Firework Stacks

Posted by Xero on 01 December 2014 - 16:21

We're planning to have them on sale for new year too, but I don't see why we can't increase the stack values. 100 is a bit much though, so I've increased it to 25 for now. That keeps in line with other novelty items such as the Bubblegum. Also increased other novelty items to fit the 25 value.

#901353 Make the mini rotate as your turn the angle of the camera & make mini map...

Posted by Xero on 16 November 2014 - 18:03

You can already rotate the mini map under the settings panel. Simply tick to enable it.

The HUD size has been an ongoing debate for some time now, and is something we hope to tackle soon!

#901289 Fps Drop?

Posted by Xero on 16 November 2014 - 12:43

Hi Icebox,

Our engine is still in the process of being optimized having recently switched to OpenGL from a software engine. One of the causes for these FPS drops right now is having many players in view. With Othalo being the starting area, it's currently flooded with a constant stream of new players due to our higher popularity since Steam release. It's something we hope to resolve in the near future.

In the meantime you could try reducing draw distance in the settings panel, which should help FPS considerably. Alternatively you could try switching to a less populated server until we resolve these issues.

Apologies for this, and I hope it doesn't spoil your enjoyment of the game!

#843571 Mounts

Mounts are very much on our list of things to do. Can't say when they'll be added, but they will eventually.

Thanks for reporting, I'll have this fixed when the office comes back from holiday on Monday!

#831490 Equipment bugs

Posted by Xero on 16 December 2013 - 18:35

The Crossbow is a Ranged weapon though, not a melee one. Think of the right and left hand slots as Melee slots. Where Melee classes would use Essence to boost their Sorcery, Ranged classes could use staves.

#831430 Equipment bugs

Posted by Xero on 16 December 2013 - 15:08

The mining code looks for a pickaxe equipped in the right hand slot. If you have this item in your left hand it will do the equipping animation.

This item was actually made in error in it being a one handed item. All mining pickaxes should be two handed, hence the animations flicking about. I was unaware of this item until now, so I might look into fixing it as a two handed item. The other alternative would be to made it a non-minable pick axe, which would be silly with it's current name!

There is no distinction between male and female characters in this circumstance, I can only assume you have it equipped in your left hand slot.

As for crossbows, they indeed go in the Ranged slot, along with bows, essence and throwing weapons. The Ranged slot is not just for throwing weapons.

#829774 Foraging to Alchemy processing

Posted by Xero on 12 December 2013 - 18:08

It's a very valid point you guys make.

Fishing, Foraging, Crop Farming and Meat Skinning all don't have the middle step. They all lead to the Cooking and Alchemy crafting professions. They all fall under the same bracket, in that they make consumables, so it's balanced across the board in this respect. If you look at the middle step professions, they all lead to creating equipment.

I can't quite remember the reasoning behind excluding the middle step for the consumables bracket, but I think the complexity of the Cooking and Alchemy recipes was a key factor. Of course, as you mentioned, the down side is you miss out on the extra, "faster", xp (although Farming and Skinning has the equipment side of them to compensate).

My only real solution would be to slightly increase the amount of items a Fishing or Foraging node holds, and reduce the amount gained per 'take' action. This means more actions per node visit, giving xp more quickly. I could also speed up the actions to save some time.
