#954881 GvG Warning When Leaving Guild

Posted by cyrus7 on 10 December 2015 - 16:48

In the scenario of PlayerA in GuildA initiates a conflict with GuildB.  PlayerA then leaves GuildA and is still considered a target for GuildB to attack in GvG.  How does GuildB know PlayerA is a target if they are not in the guild?

When you look at the GvG page, there's a link to click on the line for each conflict that has a target list that pops up. This will include anyone who was in the guild at the time the GvG was initiated, including ones who may have left/been kicked during the GvG time.

I see some potential for abuse here depending on how exactly that works.  Guilds can find another guild where players are all offline, initiate conflict and get their hits in then quickly get all target players to leave until the conflict is over - the targeted guild then comes online and they can't find their targets for the GvG.

I doubt many guilds would do such a thing but the potential is there.

Yup, this was being used by at least one guild as their primary method of winning, which is why the change was made about the waiting period and showing the list of targets.

#954764 Helpful advice on Global Events (GE)

Posted by cyrus7 on 08 December 2015 - 22:55

Is there a minimum map size for global creatures to spawn in? I notice that global creatures don't spawn in the very smallest realms. But I'd like to know if I should be recommending places like Zovraks Den (160), Marpolo Island (175), and/or Mortugus Lair (186) or not.

From the very top of the first post in the thread:

Where to hunt*:

Before getting too far in, I thought it would be good to edit in BG's confirmation of the required size of realms for spawning to occur and the relevant level at the beginning:

10 x 10 is correct. Bear in mind, this INCLUDES the borders of the realm. Global critters spawn in Realms of level 25+.

#953674 How would it feel to...

Posted by cyrus7 on 21 November 2015 - 23:36

I think hesitation on small improvements isn't wise considering the frustrations of top tier players and the amount of content available.

Or I guess my perceived frustrations - I am clearly not level 2500.

Well the thing is, some people would not see this as an improvement; quite the opposite actually.

I have an ideal. Lets get rid of or change Counter Attack buff. does anyone use this anymore? lol

It's very useful when trying to solo Elite creatures.

Don't see a huge issue with increasing the GvG ranges higher up - will take a look :)

Please keep in mind that not everyone is in favor of this, but most do not post on the forum.

This thread contains the opinions of only 3 players, and you say you'll consider doing it...?

#952999 Small bugs and suggestions.

Posted by cyrus7 on 10 November 2015 - 09:15

I reported this ages ago but it still hasn't been fixed, so...

Bug: When you're on the Guild Log page, the link at the top says [ Back Guild Management ] but the URL it goes to is for your personal log.

Suggestion: On the composing screen, add the "Discard All / Collect All / Instant Finish" buttons at the top of the list of in-progress potions (currently at bottom only, add it between level bar and first potion), to make less scrolling for those with lots of potions spots and/or a short screen.

I love my potato :D

(No sour cream to go with it?)

There's no bacon bits or cheese (WAY more important!), and you're worried about sour cream? :P

Special thanks and congrats out to all those crazy people in the top 100 who blew away anybody else with more than 125,000 smacks and got "rewarded" with the top tier chests. I'm too lazy to add up, but I kind of wonder if they are all responsible for one entire tier, lol.

Thanks to Microsoft Excel, I have that total.
The Top 100 players made 21,280,413 kills.
The goal was 75,000,000; each tier was 15,000,000.
We didn't quite make it to the Gold tier, so we made under 45,000,000 kills total.
Therefore, the Top 100 players made at least 47% of the total kills which were made this event.
This also means that the Top 100 made 28.37% of the total community goal.

#948551 Possible new item slot.

Posted by cyrus7 on 13 September 2015 - 08:26

but I do like the idea of potentially having vanity items - would need some more thought though as to how it would work :)

In Eldevin, it seems vanity items are sold between players more than actual gear is. Though that may have something to do with the fact that we still lack an auction house for easier viewing/trade of stat items, as well as that dungeon gear is bound, but still, shows that many players (at least over there) will pay for "looks".

As far as how it would work, just do the same as in Eldevin: When you're viewing a player, you have two tabs/buttons: one for regular gear, and one for vanity gear.

Now, since we don't have live characters running around in FS, only items in squares, vanity gear wouldn't have quite the same effect, but those who have extra resources to spend might be interested in having something like that.

If we got vanity items in FS, someone could get the pink sparkly tutu he's always wanted.  BTW, Eldevin has one, if you're interested. ;)

[I'm not saying I agree or disagree with the idea of vanity items in FS, just commenting on the popularity in the other game and logistics of it.]

#948441 Possible new item slot.

It certainly is a sad state of affairs though when ideas can/will be put down and disregarded not because they are bad, but because people don't have faith that they can be put into the game without breaking something else. It makes me hesitate to even try and come up with suggestions at this point. *sad face*

I agree, and add in the scenario of players deciding the devs can't handle it, instead of letting the devs decide. There have been times when I have thought of things that might be altered a bit to make them better (composing interface for one), but haven't bothered to post here because I see too many ideas get shot down with nothing more than, "The cows have enough to do." or "Sounds like too much coding." or "There are other things that need fixing first." or "We're still waiting for new rewards for xyz." Then there are some who will agree or disagree with an idea solely based on who posted it. So I don't waste my time creating such posts anymore. :(

Sorry Doom, I know you really wanted that neon pink sparkly backpack... so here you go. :P

No I'm not going to say pants...

Just a thought, does anyone else think this could be a good idea?

I'm not sure, I stopped reading after you said no pants! :P

[Joking.]

I can't really see much of a point to this. If we want more backpack space, we can just buy it.

I would think an additional item slot would be something such as a charm, and have it be more Enhancement focused rather than stat focused. Or pants.
