From my observations, there are four main ways in which abilities are carried out.

1. Instant casts that take effect at the start of an animation
2. Instant casts take take effect at the end of an animation
3. Channeled casts that take effect throughout an animation
4. Channeled casts that take effect at the end of an animation

Is it possible to make it such that all instant casts take effect at the start of the animation? It doesn't seem instant otherwise.

For more variety, try:
5. Skills that can be toggled on/off, with cooldowns after toggling off
- may provide a buff and constantly drain mana, or
- may be a charged attack, greater power with longer charge (capped at a limit)
- no cooldown if interrupted
6. Skills that cost 0 mana, cooldowns not affected by haste (preferably somewhere deep in talent trees, not purchased)

I suggested this for ADR a little while back. making it an actual charge ability by toggle so when its on you get a limit of 3 uses of it before it auto detoggles and starts the cd,that way warriors can have a chance to keep up with ranged classes but not consistently out do them. so it can be prevented from obvious things such as stuns,snares etc..or silence removing toggle effects temporarily.

+30% damage buff, lose 10% max hp/second for rangers

  -> i'd totally go back to playing ranger, maybe find a way to make a ranger/prophet hybrid even

I like the way it is set up for example Frozen spires takes effect at the start so you cancel the end of the animation after it saving you a ton of time, especially when AoE grinding when you want to as far away from the mob group far as possible.

I wanted some proc abilities.

 

 

Like warriors can have a proc ability that becomes active every time he hits a critical on the enemy.

The abiliy will become active on it. Will remain active for 5 seoncds.

 

something like that.
