Give up your mage, Guthix, and play a Templar for a while! , Maybe then, you'll get it!
Actually...I haven't been a mage in over 5 months 
I've had my lvl 45 prophet and my lvl 45 templar, I perfectly understand it lol and have no problems with this,and haven't even attempted to use despair since beta as it wasn't needed.

No, what you have is alts. If you had no alts or weren't so hardcore to lvl them all you would probs not be one. I doubt you would be tank. Also great you don't have to use despair, but it was a nice tool to have in the locker. But if staff are going to re work the tank talent tree. options and strength or certain things and beef up our options etc. I look forward to it.

I would still be one X D as....I became a templar for 1 reason really...and that would be to help players out who have trouble finding runs,which is why i have the 2 most in demand classes. Although I too am limited on what I can do as far as that goes. Also don't throw me in there with the elitest group as im not a elitest,even from the start of this game i've focused on helping people however I can.
Feel free to say I am not a templar and that it is just an alt,but at the end of the day..i'm still the one absorbing all that damage in those dungeon runs to help people get through them.

We're already looking at ways to help Templars cope with bearing the brunt of the repair costs (the 10% repair reduction was part of that) so we can certainly look at other ways for them to generate and hold aggro now that Despair has been fixed. I'm a (low level) Templar myself and I have definitely struggled to hold aggro when dealing with multiple enemies.
The good thing is that now Despair has been fixed, it's exposed a problem that we might not have been fully aware of before. If tanks are relying on a bug to maintain their threat, that's not a true solution & it's just masking an underlying issue.
wait..... so changing despair made you aware of the tank problem with agro and such but ALL The posts didn't... there's been several posts regarding the issue and some suggestions to correct it
(curious did changing despair somehow alert you of the issue with tanks being boring aswell? perhaps can work on also making them a more fun class to play so more will chose it...?)

HCS, please fix this. Unnecessary wipes and costs suck. Maybe lower the price on repair kits too to help us recovery some of what we lost
