They can damage a lot? Have you never played other dps classes at all? Other dps classes can dps a lot. Mages don't. Mages just have a high burst, but all other classes outdamage them. Survive the burst/prevent the burst/get 1 lucky evade on the burst... mage is dead). Which means that gear is a lot more effective on other classes. When everyone is geared, it will be harder to burst someone down from full hp, giving all other classes the time and opportunity to pound on the mage.  You're comparing low level and ungeared mage fights, and of course that takes no skill, because your base talents allow you to burst someone down from full without chance to fight back. But when other classes get geared and you are unable to burst them, you'll find that mages are not OP at all.
 
For pure classes at least

Mages - 3 second stun, 5 second silence, 6 second snare, 12 sec slow (costs at least 8 talent points to max duration on the ccs)

Prophet - 2 second stun, 3 second silence, 3 second snare, NO SLOW (costs 1 (ONE) talent point)

Ranger - 2 second stun, 3 second silence, 6 second snare, 3 sec slow (costs 3 (THREE) talent points)

Sin - 2 second stun, 5.5 second silence, 3 second snare, 6 sec slow (costs 6 (SIX) talent points, with a built in teleport included)

Warrior - 3 second stun, 4.5 second silence, 6 second snare, 8 sec slow (costs 8 talent points, with a built in charge)

Templar - 3 second stun, 3 second silence, 3 second snare, NO SLOW (costs 2 (TWO) talent points)

 

So mages need to spend a lot more talent points, but aside from their slow, it's not like they are the only class that has longest duration disables.  Other classes only spend a few points to get their disables maxed.

 

Boiling blood is an OP dot... emphasis on the "AN". meaning 1 dot. meaning it can almost always be removed with serenity. Rangers have 2-3 dots, and you can't even remove some of the assassin dots at all.  Not to mention it has a long-as-shit casting time, for PvP.  Other classes will already be on top of you by the time it finishes, at which point you die.  And it costs 4 talent points. After taking talent point costs into consideration, it is actually quite expensive and silly, considering it can easily be removed.  Not to mention the long duration, envenom works better since it does it's damage really quick, making it harder to be removed. 

 

And sorcery can benefit into healing.  Too bad healing is not based on sorcery only.  Healing values are roughly 16% sorcery, 16% essence, 16% gear, 50% talents.  And a pvp mage has no healing talents.  The only "heal" you actually can rely on in pvp is cauterize, and even then, it heals only a fraction of a prophet's heal.  

 

And why are you even saying that an ungeared, low level mage can win against a higher geared person? That much is obvious. It is possible for anyone to win against anyone. With enough skill and depending on circumstances. Besides, the buff you get against higher level players is quite decent. A low level with the buff is already as strong in stats as a max level that is only half geared .

I still think all crafted gear should have random stats. Give each stat s range, and a total overall stat range. Then we might start seeing some different items being used with some unique rolls.

I like super hard mode dungeon idea, but hcs this does not mean x the hp by 10000, lol. For that to be something to do though would need rewards and/or timed leaderboards.

I have heard through the grapevine that sins will be getting a nerf again.

 

Firstly, I dont know why.

 

Their single target DPS is high like it should be.

They are now encourage into med armor like they should

Therefore they are more squishy like they should be

Their AoE is still lacking compared to AoE classes like it should be

 

I know some (one vocally) is concerned about sins being OP. But playing in actual PvP matches, with actual PvPers shows this is not the case.

 

I am on vacation at the moment for 2 weeks so wont be around to campaign against any nerf if its coming soon. Please let people play with classes and experiment before you make a class unplayable again....

8.Make pets more usefull for example option to add small backpack to them so they can go on a journey and sell your trash to npcs.
9.Make vanitys which you can obtain only from quest.Also pets.

I agree with bum. Learn rotations that don't deplete your mana pool. In 95% of boss fights i can survive just fine using my rotations all the time and using 1 pot in the middle.

we used to (in the beta) have no extra pot cd in dungeons and it made them a joke.

I respecced to DPS weeks ago, Guthix! I've run all the dungeons as DPS that I've been interested in running in.

 

I'd respond with a longer post, and I had one written, but I think it is better simply to agree to disagree in this case.

 

Suffice to say, the point of debate is that: reducing potion cooldowns in dungeons will make players somewhat more survivable, and make DPS builds that are highly mana-dependant do more overall DPS over time.

 

As players, we can decide for ourselves whether that is a good or bad thing for gameplay.

 

I believe that it is a bad thing for gameplay, but that is the opinion of just this one player.

 

Decide for yourselves what you believe!

I like the potion cooldowns being as punishing as they are, as they limit the amount of reckless play in dungeons that can be survived just on potions alone(players can still be reckless! but they have to find more creative ways to stay alive).

 

I also like potion cooldowns for limiting the sheer amount of sustained DPS that can be put out by some classes; players must choose their skill rotations and talent builds more carefully for either burst or sustained DPS, or face the risk of running out of mana.

 

I would be okay with lowering potion cooldowns on the lower level instances to aid new players and/or players without experienced healers/tanks(Ohdar Scar and below).

I think they should leave it as it is now. But add in mastery where you can choose 1 crafting skill to master and that would open up new options/recipes/blueprints for better high tiered items/food/pots etc

Since all these rare items got pretty OP stats I suggest to buff Fabled Sets, also make it possible to get hybrid set bonuses from different sets.

 

Each item should provide 10Vitality & 10Crit(sin)/200-250MeleeAP(war)/100-200Armor(temp)/haste or magic attack(proph/mage)/200RangedAP  or 10crit(ranger)

 

 

So if I got set 2 sin daggers + war throwing will get 30vit + 200Melee AP+20crit

1 ranger dagger, shield and bow - 30 vit + Def +Crit/AttackPower. 

 

etc. based on set items..

or perhaps a second item in each boss which would be 50% gem 40% flake 10% relic (percentages could vary there)

 

That would give the ability to earn more relics and have more loot.
