since it takes 3 days to get a responce about a bot report theres no point in reporting them any more but if we report hot spots heres an idea add a few agro mobs in there like othelo mine add a few lvl 5s in there that will atk you on sight. If your bot you will die or be stoped from mining cause they wil hit you if your not a bot you can pretty much one shot them and continue farming ores. You cant program a bot to atk mobs if their walkers and the timeing is off like maybe they respwn every 5 mins or so or faster if needed and greenreef Bots put in 2 of those lvl 25 bugs that are outside inside and make where the tiki statue is a safe zone kind of thing so if you need to go afk you go down there and your safe cause mobs dont walk there just an Idea happy hunting all

to get to greenreef isle where the cave in question is you have to be at least lvl 22 to get to the isle and lvl 25 to get into the cave without using a summons I don't think that lower lvls should be able to be summoned into the lvl 25 cave just saying

I prefer to do the mindless mining while watching TV or reading stuff on the other computer screen. Sometimes I might even get up from the computer for a few minutes, leaving my character standing there doing nothing. Having to worry about things attacking me while doing boring mining (or having stepped away) would make the chore of leveling skills even more annoying.
Bots are a bad thing, but hostile creatures spawning attacking us while we need to mine thousands of items is worse, and punishing the rest of us is not the solution.

What I suggest is that these mobs do little to no damage, so that when people are intentionally afk, they won't be killed by them, but bots will be stopped from mining. It's a good concept, and it might work. Alternatively, there could be player moderators, and when they have reports of a bot, they could have direct contact with the admins so that they'll respond faster.

(...) punishing the rest of us is not the solution.
I suggest droping this topic and occupy self with something better,
because any and every idea will always target and punish ONLY honest players and no one else,
making his life harder and harder, giving more and more adventages to bot users.
Since bot can do everything (!) no matter how hard you make his life,
he will do this fast, precisely "like a boss" and without being tired.
Giving up with conclusion "its too hard, dull and no fun" is a humans domain.
no point in reporting them any more
"reporting" is only sensible solution if someone actualy care.
And second solution is not make a fire on forums about this topic all around,
because it will change nothing, except creating unnecessary wars betwin players,
increasing game complexity (which serve bots not humans - as said above),
and additionaly reading on forums about "bots, bots, bots everywhere ~ " all around
is not what increase game reputation in eyes of new players.
Personaly i completly dont care if person digging coal near me is a bot or not,
because it does not change anything to me.
I dont get more or less XP or whatever the rest, from this fact. And thats it.

Anything to stop bots is a bonus but they need to trust players to help them in some shape or form. Simply reporting them feels like a waste of time sometimes. I was in othalo mining yesterday and it did seem like there was less of them though i have to say.
BPlayer is pretty much right making it so people get attacked won't stop bots, maybe for a week or two. If there's money to be made the bot developers will spend the time getting around any obstacles and profiting even more, if that means leveling up so a monster doesn't attack they will do it.

Sometimes people aren't even bots but simply a sweatshop in China.
In other games they can even have a protector account watching over them.

...I understand the drama in first person shooter games, where being hit by bot, betwin eyes,
throught 3 walls from 2000 yards distance in 0.5 seconds before one even think about pulling out weapon
is just what makes ones hands fall down, and it really destroy game totaly for normal players.
But in mmorpg, hating, ganging, hunting to death a person who is practically harmless,
and have zero impact over others, plaing "his way" alone,
is kinda like "triumph of form over content"... to not call it differently.

Good idea! I think the bats are good candidates. But must think of a way so that botters cannot figure a way to tackle this.

Is there a way to curb botting using technology?
have you ever thought about bot being a technology ?
...a technology which is always many steps in front because it is updated "on the fly" unlike games.
Fighting it is, making game harder for honest players while at same time forcing bots to improve quality.
It'll end up players giving up on complexity while high quality bots will own game.
The only thing that can be done is ignore them and be happy that they are on basic evolution stage,
not giving much adventage being simple "click click trash - good for nothing"

If you find a bot while I'm in-game whisper me and I'll take a look. (...)
...and this is the best solution possible.
The only solution that even most advanced bots cannot fight.

I would like to see instant perma bans for players caught botting, currently you are free to bot as much as you like knowing that if you get caught you will just go to jail the first time.

Totally agree with Mongo here, what's the point of jail time if the botter has reached high level gathering before getting caught?
