What reality am I in? One where I'm not ignorant or oblivious to how players use PvP in this game.. I was in the warrior kings throughout the whole summer. I know about terrorizing players through PvP. To ignore what I witnessed and was apart of, would to be living outside reality..

 

 

Trying to gain some credibility by name dropping is arrogant. Now you want to come off as an informant ready to tell all with Geraldo Rivera-esque integrity. Nobody cares. Instead of feeding more hysterical logs into the flames, try making a few more threads to moderate.

 

This... This is what so many people dislike about PVP. Can't we all just get along??

 

P.S. I had to look up Geraldo Rivera. That's one heck of a mustache.

A new player has to learn to PvP somewhat like an adolescent learns the birds and the bees - trial and error.

But seriously, good point, never seen it that way. There really is no intro to pvp in the game, which does seem to be an oversight, and is perhaps one of a few reasons for the development of anti-pvp sentiments.

The problem with PVP is the problem with many aspects of all games - people need to stop taking everything personally, and stop taking a game so gosh darn seriously.

This is excellent, and SO VERY VERY true. Thank you for posting this! we love FS, so the points you listed above are all the more frustrating. Basically, if it were not for friends in the game, many players would have left long ago (I know this for a fact).

to start with i am not reading any of this thread, nor am i even contemplating reading the op's first post.

 

all i can say is that i hope the title of this thread is some sort of joke.  i can only assume that 20 pages of this thread would indicate that is not.  

 

lets be smart and look at the facts.   FS is pretty much dead, and currently has no hope of becoming a popular game if it continues this path of phale it has been on for the past few years.   7-8 years ago this game was on fire and on a pace to become a very large game in the gaming world, currently i would believe that at this point in time that more people are playing atari than that are currently logged into Fallen Sword..  please tell me you guys can see that what you are doing with PVP has turned  this game into an almost unrecoverable state. 

 

i can't believe this is even a serious consideration, never mind pinned up as top news of the forum.

I just have to say, from a leveler's perspective.... the idea of removing XP loss from PVP does not make any sense, I'm sorry. But I respect the people trying to come up with alternatives to make everyone happy, and people being open-minded and trying to roll with the change. However, I feel if enough people are against the change, then it should not occur. This change won't affect me, and as a leveler, it technically is a bonus for me. But I can't help feeling badly for the pvpers who are against this, as XP loss seems to be a rather large part of PVP (I could be wrong - there are documented cases of it happening ). Just my piece. Kudos to the OP for proposing a compromise.

It should be noted for justice's sake, that just because a guild has a religious bio or an individual has religious stuff in their bio, does not mean they are trying to "cram it don peoples' throats" (I realize there have been some isolated incidents, of course). Personally, I don't think it has much place in a game, but if it bugs you, don't read their bios. There are a bunch of bios that I find stupid and/or offensive but because it's a game, I just ignore them.

As for the inconsistency in the rules, re guild vs. individual bios...I dunno the reason for that, but it does seem a bit odd. I don't see it as a big issue though. I thought a lot of people had religious stuff in their bios that hasn't been deemed unacceptable?

how do you plan on getting around the reaction of when the smasher medal was introduced, my views on pvp have changed since then but i can forsee the masses heading to the forum in numbers you only see with such a pvp change, you are expecting hoof to ignore 100 or more protestors?

Well wouldn't the targets for this medal be people who are carrying too much gold on them? but enough players already take precautions against this, so there's really no reason for any outcry. We levelers will just have to be more vigilant when hunting, which is a good idea anyway.
The only good argument against this medal that I can see is that it *might* drive the MP prices up again, but oh well.
I voted "yes" by the way.
