#868035 Problems

Posted by Crusader on 11 May 2014 - 15:57

Something I've also noticed is that the flake and remnant requirements for a one handed weapon is the same as a two handed weapon, meaning you have to pay twice as much to get the same amount of damage.

#867486 Saving Skill Sets

Posted by Crusader on 08 May 2014 - 11:59

I have a pretty good suggestion for you: would it be possible to allow us to save our hotbars, so when we respec we can have them saved as a preset so we can use them again?

#867246 Total lack of solo rewards in game

Posted by Crusader on 07 May 2014 - 11:39

To be honest, you're trying to sound like you're not complaining, but you are. It's easily possible to make 100g+ per hour using any class (maybe except tank) casually grinding in some areas. There are some decent and great spots to grind in the new areas, so I don't know why you said there isn't.

I think your problem is that you along with other people don't have the patience to grind 10 hours to make 1000g+, and you expect pre-patch TOC standard loot when grinding so you can make tons of money. You're also saying that it doesn't cover your repair costs? Well, you've obviously done something wrong since you can easily profit.

#865319 ASV update

Posted by Crusader on 26 April 2014 - 11:05

There's a lot of controversy surrounding this topic, and I want to convey my views.

ASV (or any other ascended dungeon) are designed to be completed once you are fully geared.

ASV rewards you with the best weapons in the game, of course it's going to be hard (although my sympathies are with rangers since they're stuck with using the bow)

It's difficulty level can be justified, and people should really stop complaining it's 'too hard'. Boohoo...

Can't finish ASV effectively? Well, you're obviously undergeared, or don't have a suitable gem setup to conquer it. People just want to rush to get the end-game gear, and once you do you'll be totally bored. So what if you have to spend 1 hour a day for 100 days to get the best weapons in the game? At least you've got an incentive to log on everyday.

However, I do agree ASV has some problems:

The loot table is severely broken, and does not make up for the repair costs. Bosses should drop a more variety of items, but I don't agree that they should drop relics; if they do, people will be fully geared in no time, and the end-game gear isn't meant to be easy to get.

#865138 About crafting and dungeon sets

Posted by Crusader on 25 April 2014 - 10:26

However, whilst I agree it can be an excessive grind and seem boring, you're always able to purchase materials from other players. Here are my views on your points:

1) The amount of materials required for lower level gear and other materials like bars isn't too much. You'll realize this once you reach a higher level.

2) Dungeon head-gears, weapons and jewelry should stay craft-able. It gives you a reason to level your professions, and also something to sink your gold into.

3) I agree with this, more sets to have between every 10 levels would also give people an incentive to level crafting.

4) Set bonuses are only available on tiered gear. These gears are available from the level 10, 15, 20, 25, 35, 40 and 45 dungeons. A craft-able set for each class with a set bonus is also available at level 30.

#859609 One more account slot

Posted by Crusader on 03 April 2014 - 08:06

To be honest, they're not even close to money-hungry. Joe has made 7k+ EP and not spent a single dime on this game, and there's many other examples of people who have made bank by actually putting in the effort. It costs 400 EP to open a new character slot, and that isn't a lot if you're willing to put the time in to gold farm. I reckon if they're willing to give everyone a new character slot, it should be for people who have subscribed. This way, this gives people an incentive to subscribe and there's a lot of benefits from subscribing, and you're also helping out HCS to fund the game's development.

#859369 Players Content choice

Posted by Crusader on 02 April 2014 - 12:03

I feel this poll is biased, as there's not a real diversity of options. It's just a multiple choice question where you can't choose neither. I generally think HCS can do what they want with the game, and players should only suggest what gets added, and not enforce it. The team at HCS have their own image for the game, and when you add a bunch of players from different gaming backgrounds into the equation, it can turn into a war zone if certain players don't get what they want. For example, some people complain the PvP is shit, yet HCS said multiple times that they're not focusing on PvP at this point in time, and other people might complain that HCS aren't working fast enough when it comes to adding new drops and loot tables.

I basically think HCS should work at their pace, not ours.

#857939 Bot solution

Posted by Crusader on 27 March 2014 - 07:20

What I suggest is that these mobs do little to no damage, so that when people are intentionally afk, they won't be killed by them, but bots will be stopped from mining. It's a good concept, and it might work. Alternatively, there could be player moderators, and when they have reports of a bot, they could have direct contact with the admins so that they'll respond faster.

#857570 Future Content

Posted by Crusader on 26 March 2014 - 11:02

I know we're all aware of the imminent content update on April 4th, but what happens after everyone has gone through all the content?

I know level 50 content is planned for the future, and that will keep us going for months to come, but what after that? I have a few suggestions that might give people an incentive to keep playing even after all the content has been explored.

In my honest opinion, there should be mini games. These mini games would require a large amount of people, and be fun and rewarding for players of all levels.

Now, I know games like Runescape had the most original and creative mini games like Soul Wars, Stealing Creations, etc, but I believe that HCS can come up with even more inventive ideas that take use of our professions.

For example, there could be a Survival Game where everyone starts out on a deserted island with no gear, and there are tools randomly hidden around the island. There are also basic crafting stations, so that people can make potions, weapons and armour. The teams could make use of their professions and forage ingredients for potions, mine for ores to make bars to eventually make gear. And basically, there is also an enemy team competing for the same resources, meaning you'll have to fight to obtain these items to craft your team some gear. Ultimately, you would fight for a certain time and the team with the most kills would win!

The rewards would be tokens that can be exchanged for vanity sets or experience boosters, giving people a big incentive to take part in these mini games and the community would be closer as a whole.

I'm sure HCS can think of some great mini game ideas. As for the community, what are your ideas?

#857444 Gear Discussion

Posted by Crusader on 25 March 2014 - 20:12

In my opinion, I believe there should be more variety in high level gear.

Once people reach max level and are fully geared, they're basically wearing the same gear (depending on their build) and the only variety is their attribute and talent point setup.

What I suggest is that there should be Legendary gear dropped from the World Bosses. This would encourage more world boss runs, and this gear would be a literal drop, but EXTREMELY rare.

This could be armours/weapons/accessories, etc. There could be corresponding gear dropped from the appropriate world boss.

When a full set of this armour is obtained, the armour could have a special particle effect resonating from it.

For example, you could have the Mummified Set, which drops from the Avatar of Amun.

Helm: Mummified Mask

Body: Mummified Body

Legs: Mummified Leggings

Boots: Mummified Boots

Belt (Light): The Light Belt of Amun

Belt (Medium, Ranged): The Belt of Darkness

Belt (Medium, Melee): The Sacred Belt of Death

Belt (Heavy): The Belt of the Cursed

Charm: Bones of Amun

Amulet: Amulet of Amun

Ring 1: Ancient Ring

Ring 2: Ring of Ancestry

Weapon (Staff): The Staff of Ancient

Weapon (Two-Handed): The Decrepit Greatsword

Weapon (One-Handed): The Primordial Blade

Secondary Weapon (Ranged): Throwing Blade of Orpheus

Secondary Weapon (Melee): The Throwing Axe of Heaviness

Secondary Weapon (Mage, Essence): Essence of the Dark

Basically, you could think of better names and introduce light, medium and heavy versions of the armours, but they would be exceptionally rare drops and it would introduce more variety into high level gear.

You get my point, these were just an example; but a real example would be the belts currently obtained from the legendary chests. More gear like this would be amazing, and really bring more diversity into the top tier gear sets.

#857021 Servers

Posted by Crusader on 23 March 2014 - 11:26

Yeah - I know what you mean.

As a brief aside I spoke to a guy in Oceanic the other day who didn't realize there were other servers and thought this game was totally dead. It might be worth pointing the server thing out somewhere so that players who start in a fairly empty server realize what is going on.

That's pretty hilarious. He must have been pretty shocked when he realized the other servers had 80-100+ people online xD

#854325 Bestiary

Posted by Crusader on 09 March 2014 - 15:30

That's a great idea, however, something like that would just take forever to make. Hopefully they'll consider this and work on a bestiary over the next coming months or something. It would really help out!

#852732 Tanks

Posted by Crusader on 02 March 2014 - 18:17

Now, lately there's been a serious lack of active tanks. Most of the current tanks are either inactive or have respecced to another class. This means that we're unable to form world boss groups and participate in the event and it's also extremely hard to find Terenul Rosa runs. Over the last few days I've been able to squeeze in around 10 runs because people don't stay for long enough to do many.

Now, there are reasons for the lack of tanks. Being a tank is a huge responsibility and the repair rates are higher for tanks than any class since you're tanking a lot of damage. I know you can't specifically alter the repair rates for a certain role without having distinct classes in the game.

I would like to suggest that there are more beneficial factors that will encourage people to play as a tank, because the repair rates and high responsibility issues act as a big deterrent.

I know it's hard to enforce something on a particular role because of the open-class system, but i'm sure there's something that can be done.

If you have any suggestions, leave them below.

#850090 Wands vs. Staves

Posted by Crusader on 18 February 2014 - 15:19

I reckon wands would be a great idea. However, they should also add things like an off-hand magic book or orb which can only be wielded with a wand and vise versa. They'd somehow have to make this extremely balanced but it'd be a good idea in my opinion.
