So, decided to have a go at this game. Unfortunately, every so often (say 3rd to 5th consecutive) page load seems to hang for well over 30 seconds.

Is this normal or just an issue on my end?

with the merge alot of legacy broke slightly try refreshin and clearing you cache , just spam hiit F5 should do the job

Yes at times this is normal.. it could be you have hit one of the hours where they are clearing the database.
You'll get a warning in side chat if this happens..

There tend to be alot of lags when they do t.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like it was just bad timing on my part. I just spent a little time on the game now and didn't have any problems with page loads.

Depends on your browser and internet connection too, sometimes neither are the case however I recently dealt with someone using IE9, try doing what K3nny said and clearing your cache and cookies once every so often.

The issue with reports of lag is there are lots of types. The only type I'm really concerned with is when the 'Generated Time' displayed in the side bar is high, I log whenever a page takes longer than a second to be generated and it only happens a few times per hour across our entire site so that is not really an issue.

If a page generates quickly but is still slow to load it means the connection has latency. This can be one of 3 types:

Our ISP is lagging:
Then the site would lag for the entire game at the same time.

Your ISP is lagging:
Then all websites would lag for you equally.

Somewhere in between is lagging:
This seems to be the most common, and there really is nothing either of us can do to fix it.

Like previously said, this seems to be "common." I say it like that because I personally almost never have that as an issue. When i do, it's because Zorg is doing something to the game or something of that nature. Otherwise I never have an issue.

Personally, I use FireFox cuz that seems to work best (for me anyway).

Anyway, game seems nice, got a lot of tutorial/guides to look through still to see what all there is to do there.
