#929511 Rebalance End Game Loot/Quests

Posted by HappyDays on 22 April 2015 - 09:50

ICC

4 great drops + relics (+ weekly cores and bag)

5 people

4-8 mins

These are the main things being run at end game. Right now ICC is way ahead in terms of reward for time. Sure it needs a bit more effort/tactics to do it well. But it is very profitable if you are lucky enough to be in a team that can happily grind there for hours.

Coming from one of the lucky ones who gets to run it most days I think there should be a reduction in what it gives out. I think ICC should be changed to 5 drops but defined instead of absolutes, and keep the flakes/horsey in there. At the same time, the weekly reward has been nerfed to the extreme, that needs a look at too.

Not only would that not over-saturate the large gem market with players grinding ICC it would also drive prices back up for those running RG/BT and give them a bit more coin for their efforts.

All that being said. I am happy for it to stay the same, and I will continue to benefit from ICC :) and build my gems :)

how long has it been opened...... and now a thread. The people who got ICC and grinded it made out like bandits so the only people that suffer are the late adopters with the nerfs. The people who grinded it are minted and sorted. Now lets nerf it for the people that follow   . How noble of you to be so concerned about them.

It is a situation of leave it as it is, the people who benefited ......... well ...... benefited and the late adopters are the ones who are back handed because they were late to the party.  So they should earn less because the people before now have their fill. Reminds me of all those times people called for nerfs as they were hardcore grinding solo dungeons as they were calling for nerfs...... who benefited from that again ..... hmmmmmm.

#929041 Fix Trapper Atol

Posted by KeS on 17 April 2015 - 18:16

They should fix trappers Atoll! Seriously, I want to be able to try out PVP without being at a huge level disadvantage!. Make an island or two that have a level cap that no higher level players can join. This way the lower levels who want to try out PVP aren't stacked against max level characters all the time.

That's another issue that has been in the center of PVP generality...I would love to see level areas/arenas as well that way pvp can be enjoyable for all.

You can also choose to play on EU where active members defend people gathering :)
(yes I only post that so that US pkers come more often, we lack action, we killed all of our baddies until they quit).

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA cute

#920430 TA Idea

Posted by Steve1973 on 18 February 2015 - 21:11

I personally like the idea, but, Could a potion like this just encourage more players to take their chance with TA and possibly lead to more moaning. At the moment people moan when they lose, I am guessing only about 50%ish of their gathers stuff. I think after a week or so the a potion, will they then moan if they lose just 5%. Ontop of that, there will still be moans from those who either feel the potion price is too high, or moans from those who haven't bought the potion that there is still pvping taking part on the island.

Rant time ;)

Everyday, there are loads of moans about people killing and being killed on TA. There is a warning when players enter TA, that they must click accept before entering, so they can't say they were unaware it is a pvp island.

Several other nonpvper players even point out to the ones who moan it is a pvp island and what this means, but from then on these nonpvpers get referred to in the same regard as the players who were actually doing the pvping.

I think the present set up is already favoured to the gatherer enough.

For the large part, they can gather freely and get stacks of 999, then occasionaly a high lvl pvp player will turn up and start killing. If one or two people are killed by a single pvper, there is a large yellow post and an audible warning (i forget what the words are) to give all the other players notice to leave the island so the majority get away with all their goods anyway. For those that are killed, they only lose, I am not sure of the percentages but I undertsand it to be around 50% give or take. This means, even though they lost, they still walk away with half their proceeds, plus the plaer who die do not have to pay for any repairs to their armour or weapons.

Considering they could have lost everything and also been forced to pay for repairs, I think it is a pretty cushy deal for gatherers.

Unfortunately, with a game like this, unless the pvp and pve parts of the game are completely seperated, I feel there will always be people moaning no matter what is done, as some players are not willing to take responsibility for their own personal actions by entering a pvp island and then moaning about being killed.

Rant over :)

#914610 The King's Forrest - or Poacher's Paradise?

Posted by rowbet on 10 January 2015 - 16:39

While gathering in TA a while back I began to wonder about similar things one could do with skinning/meat-gathering, or even farming.

The skinning/meat-gathering lends itself naturally to the idea of poaching, so one could imagine having a large area stocked with various herds (e.g. maintained by the King for hunting parties) into which characters could sneak to hunt better stock (and hence more skins/meat) at a greater risk.

This could be a straight extension of TA (another PVP zone), but one could also use it to introduce different challenges. For example, random spawning of the King's Gamekeeper (a champion who spawns at your level, kind of like the monster rabbits did in the spring event), or there could be random traps that the poachers had to avoid.

One could also think of doing a similar thing for farming, say a contaminated farmland where every so often you find you have actually grown a crop of triffids that you then have to deal with.

While its nice to have a place where you can gather more quickly, I think the real advantage in developing this sort of theme is that it provides an option for players to do their gathering in a way that is less repetitive and less mindless.

#913782 Who's In group

Posted by Ant on 06 January 2015 - 09:55

When invited to a group i'd like to see who is in it first so I can decide if i'd like join or not.

If I have someone on ignore I don't really want to be associated with them nor help them.

either fix it or take it out. bugged tagging mechanics and group only loot have made this an eye sore on the game.

#912858 MAGE NERF

Posted by Alteration on 30 December 2014 - 20:56

yeha but it's true... mages are one of the most op classes in pvp- if not, the most op.

if you truly know how to play a mage, you will dominate pvp. it'd be like an elephant rampaging through ants. just total murder and the other people won't be able to do sh*t.

if you truly know how to play your class, you will dominate mages in pvp. just cuz they're easy to use doesn't mean their the strongest. usually the easiest class only means it will lose to classes that require talent to play, if the person playing them is talented that is.

Lol, now asking for nerf. Just a few months ago, mages were begging to get buffed up...

#911857 bugs for Devs to look at

Posted by rowbet on 24 December 2014 - 08:38

yes you can run it and first boss is fixed so can complete it now just chest loot is bugged still i think.

I thought it was more fun before they "fixed" it. The first boss was perfectly doable for my ranger at level 40 (didn't try other characters) though it did require a couple of healing pots to service the critters' reflect. Now it is pretty trivial.
