Hey,

 

First off, thanks for the update. It will make it easier to find targets in GvG at the higher-level-but-not-quite-EOC-level ranges. A daunting task.

 

At the same time, I feel like I am as likely to GvG as I was before the update as I am after it. I believed there was... more to come with the Update itself in terms of things changing. Do you have anything else planned in terms of rewards, mechanics, or additional adjustments?

Arena does require a big investment in gear and time. But it is important to note that the players who are at the top remain at the top not because of how much gear they can amass, but because of the time and energy they have put into it.

If it was as easy as putting some gear on and winning some rounds, everyone could do it. You already see it in regular PvP - pop some potions and go crazy, regardless of how much (or little) thought you've added in the process, you will find success.

Putting people on Cooldown from participating in the Arena sounds... counterintuitive. Cooldown worked somewhat on Titans for other reasons that we will not discuss here (this is an Arena thread??), but Arena does not correlate to Titan Hunting mechanics whatsoever. The game is already low in #'s, I don't see how adding a cooldown to Arena will be beneficial beyond seeing some self proclaimed experts getting their Bronze medal here and there.

Potion looks good. Chests eventually run out at lower stamina ranges. Not everything needs to be bigger than everything before it to be important or relevant.

Hey Alisa.

I have seen AntiDeflect 100%+ get deflected sometime at the end of last year. Even if the buff shows "100%" or higher, it truly isn't.

Just like sometimes you would just miss a target even if you have an overwhelming amount of Attack compared to their Defense. You've been hit by, you've been struck by...

Got through the thread today and here are the changes I've made. Changes are in bold.
 
New: 
 
Here are 13 new proposed potions and their loyalty costs.
 
Warriors Elixir. Loyalty: 500
 
Fury Level : 200 Duration : 120m
Berserk Level : 200 Duration : 120m
Dark Curse Level : 200 Duration : 120m
Enchanted Weapon Level : 200 Duration : 120m
Wither Level : 200 Duration : 120m
Shatter Armor Level : 200 Duration : 120m
 
Wither is available at 350 from AH already. Why not make this 400 maybe?
Fury/Berserk/Dark Curse we already have as common potions as well. Why not just make this Force Shield/Absorb/Great Vigor at level 300? or at least any Defense tree buffs?
E. Weapon at 200 is bad considering we have EW 1000 for 2.4k at bazaar at times. How about ... Enchant ARMOR 1000 > :)

as to attack/armor set being needed, this requires explanation.
a previous thread (30 june 2021 statistical analysis of gear distribution in fallensword), showed a lack of def gear at certain levels. but as noted, high att and nmv can help def setup.

sanctuary buff cost a lot of stam and has a short duration. the special pots are under powered. there is no (positive) introductory way to use buff. so seen as no good?

similarly, entrench is not seen as useful. it is a transfer buff but can't adjust unlike other transfer buffs.

problem is the compose form of buff is the best form of the buff. SH KE CA and CD have other forms that are still useful.

armbst stats are less than shield wall.

high dam is desired, maybe LA stats reflect this.


Would like to correct you here. The thread pointed to Attack/Armor sets being the least preferred sets when it came to development. It is more noticeable after level 3500 where there is one *one* Meta (SE/Legendary/Crystal) set with Attack/Armor as it's main stat. This holds true months after, even if you take into consideration all the gear that has been released since then.

There is a lot of factors that come into play when it comes to choosing whether you will "PvP" in Armor vs Defense gear, including gear available. Props posts have summed up the situation well so I won't repeat them.

Make normal PvP ranges the same as GvG ranges:

1 - 300 (+/- 25)
301 - 700 (+/- 50)
701+ (+/- 100)

Thank you for the +1 dunk on the post.

What got the ball rolling was the idea that it felt like Arm/Def sets were getting a lot of priority. These tables not only show that this is true, but it also shows that they have been selected more often than others when it comes to Stat Distribution on gear. What was a hunch from years of experience became a palpable reality to me and some others.

Let's hope some other stat combinations and gear slots (in certain ranges) get some more needed love later.
