We should have a map that's dedicated to pvp only. But make it like a special event say once a week. And when a player joins he/she is given a color say red or blue that represents his/her side. You don't lose xp or gold or equipment durability but gain points for killing another player. Rewards would be given to the winning side. Any suggestions on idea, if so what kind of rewards, how it should work, etc?

have you tried the arena tasker ? you dont lose durability nor xp =)

However always will have to pay to play, even with an idea such as yours ...

... but I see what you are suggesting ...kind of like a mini-game within the game!

Even if it's a *join* only event, there are still those who would complain about it being unfair or bullying. I think It's near impossible now, but trying to make actual *normal* pvp feasable and an every day aspect  should be a priority. That or remove it completely from the game :)  Every *fix* so far, drives more and more away from the game.

Having spoken with Hoofmaster, we're seriously reconsidering the PvP Ladder system. We're looking to review it, possibly removing it and replacing it with the original PvP system. We think that might help. I personally think the ladder watered PvP down.

What about the above suggested fix mate, would it help and more importantly do you think it would entice players back to the game? I'm thinking yes but I'm kinda blind with regard to the original pvp system so in truth I really don't know.

Cheers.

But who wants to pay and wait for an arena that may take days to even start. This one all you have to do is enter the map. There should be like a time limit before the portal to the realm closes. So everyone who wants to join in must join in before it closes. Once it closes players can attack other players of any level. Lower levels join at their own risk. And a minimum level of 100 or whatever you guys think is a good to be able to participate in this event. Buffs can be included, except for deflect, etc. If you decide to leave in the middle of it you no longer can enter. And yes sort of like a mini game.

And like i said players join at their own risk. If they think its bullying that they are targeted by some they shouldn't join. It's that simple. The goal is to win after all.

And it is still pvp. Player versus player doesn't actually have to be xp loss, gear durability loss, or gold loss. PVP arena is the same aspect.

And also if the attacker loses in an initiated attack against the defender, no one gains any points. It would be unfair to some lower leveler who just want to attack the heck out of high level players just because they can though it be fun to watch them try.

As for a reward system, i don't know what you guys want. Whether it be gold, gear, fsp, potions etc.

A couple things about yet more input to "fix" the last real PvP Ladder fix!  The current system just needs some attention guys. If I saw any chance of resources being applied in the near future to changing the PvP aspect I might sing a different tune...

Until then, IF SOMEONE DOESN'T WANT TO LOSE THEIR PRECIOUS XP AND BE DELEVELED DON'T JOIN THE LADDER OR GET THEMSELVES PUT ON THE BOUNTY BOARD! In fact, there is a medal and Top 250 list specifically REWARDING the achievement of taking another player's xp! Being called a bully for playing the current game is abhorrent beyond belief. Let's see some precious resources applied to improve this PvP game instead. That is what we need. PvP is an intregal part of this game because it creates an all important risk to ALL players! The current wave of anti-PvP sentiment is alarming because it is having an effect that is starting to show favoritism to those that threaten to leave and selects certain guilds and players for punishment like suggestions of doing away with PvP. I am abundantly aware of these threats. That is what is stopping players from liking the game. Can we see something applied to benefit the game any time soon instead of selectively changing the rules?

Nicely said.  Now, I know ... maybe my post should be in another section of the forum, but maybe not, so I don't mean to offend, bully, intimidate, or emotionally scar anyone (my disclaimer).  But - If some are scared to get hit while playing this fun XP gaining and PVP'ing game ... and they make their OWN UNFORCED DECISION to join the ladder or hit someone themselves, THEY made that decision.  If anything - it shows that they are lacking the ability to make logical and rational decisions.  Now, those who get hit for carrying lots of gold ... again, those who get hit for carrying lots of gold ... don't carry lots of gold anymore. Bank it, send to a friend, get protection, or send it all to me.  I will hold it for you, free of charge however I am not insured :)  Those who get hit by someone who wanted prestige and it's a soft, delicate, 10 stamina spanking on the buttocks followed up with baby powder ... that's understandable and actually it can be QUITE enjoyable to be spanked on the butt - between 2 consenting adults.  In fact, I recommend it, but no one is complaining about that issue.  NONE of these things are "bullying".  So what is left?  Only ones that 1) never hit anyone, 2) who aren't carrying lots of gold, 3) are not partaking in the ladder, and 4) have no one near them in level that can hit them for prestige.  Perfect! Don't be scared.  You not only WON'T be hit ... you CAN'T be hit.

The ladder is limited  to a group level. Attacking the same people is boring. I've been on the ladder. Got tired of attacking the same people who just sit there and do nothing. Change things up. My idea gets the whole FS community to play. Have fun just killing the heck out of other players. One thing that all pvp have in common, the time lapse between each attack which is horrendous unless you participate in gvg.. What better way to blow off some steam or see who's the strongest with my idea of an all out war on one map. Make this into a once week event, and who knows who would hate or enjoy it. I know i would enjoy it.

I concur wholeheartedly that the current system doesn't suffice, never really did. There was a complete revamp some two plus years ago and zero follow up since. The more recent issues haven't been a lack of ideas rather it's been not having the adequate resources, namely a decision maker and a coder to pull the trigger and do it. Currently, we seemingly need to wait for the long queue of roadmap items to be completed, all of which are behind any schedule, and here we are awaiting PvP to be piecemealed together one slow step at a time .

I can easily tell you what is wrong with not just the Ladder system but PvP as a whole. It's not a coincidence the two are tied together. Meanwhile, for years players who enjoy PvPing and playing the current Ladder system are villainized because naysayers preach, and I'm paraphrasing here; tokens are gained too easy, some ladders have arrangements between players, there's no competition, etcetera, etcetera.

I also concur that PvP has been neglected in the Event category of the game. There certainly has never been any impetus toward promoting it. Rather it has been relegated as a negative stain on good wholesome game play - the bad guy role in RPG. PvP takes your hard earned xp away from your character, nothing more - how dare you! But historically in the nearly 7 years I've played this game, the devs would rather ignore any pressing issues with current playability and instead release something new and shiney that takes away the pain of old game imperfections and blinds us. Last one was composing. So please, like me, don't hold your breath and have high expectations. You won't be disappointed.
