Fishing contest - on ice!

 

Challenges:

 

Daily

Reward: 1000 Fishing Exp (just participate in one of the daily contests, three per day, only one can be done per day)

 

Frosty Fishing

Reward: Polar Pole (catch 1000 fish by ice fishing before the event ends, must be done within contest times but is not reset per contest so don't worry )

 

Arctic Angler

Reward: Arctic Angler set (win a contest - note that the contest is multi-server, so no low population higher chances! / this is a way to test cross-server functionality)

 

Cold Feet

Reward: Rokfoot Transformation (turned on and off by skill selection, unlimited duration; won by fishing the most fish from ice fishing throughout the entire playerbase - aka only one person can win this) [edit: and yes, it has a female version!]

 I don't think this would be a good idea just encourages people to bot.

A cold wind blows in a curved path (the path is different each time but always curves around the fishing holes) once every 30 seconds. Those who don't move get frozen until they use a fire spell on themselves.

 

You can be yanked into the fishing hole while fishing. If you do not then right-click the hole and select "escape" before your HP drains completely, you...die.

 

Additionally, by dying you are kicked out of the contest and cannot enter that same contest again; you must wait until the next one.

 

 

 

These will stop botting.

Bot's are as smart as their creators who's to say that they can't make one do the event even with your anti bot measures?

 

One winner for the whole game might make the bot creators invest time in making it for the reward.

 

And I don't think players would find it that fun fishing for a month constant as HCS events last quite a while.

Well, the event is meant more for people with max fishing anyway :/

I know that botters can be smart, but they still would have to spend time writing up a new program that 100% works with the newly released objects etc. This is a month-old event. They wouldn't get it done in time.

 

Additionally, standing in one place and melting oneself can hint people that they are bots. Which means they can be easily reported. And the devs can use the event to track how long a character is online, using that to get rid of tons of bots. If anything, this would just be a bot trap.

 

 

This event is mainly meant to get people back into fishing. I remember when I joined I saw tons of reviews saying Fishing was the most useless skill ):<

Maxed fishers would cause an issue there's not many of them ingame really, you wouldn't believe how many people will be ranting that it's not fair I thought this was ment to be a Christmas event!

 

Fishing isn't useless as I need it to make ranger food

I'm not asking them to replace the Christmas event, just to make this an add-on. I'm pretty sure they already have the Christmas event mostly coded.
