As I staggered up a steep hill, it began to rain. I swept my matted hair from my face and looked toward the dark purple sky.
"It's just as beautiful as I remember it."
I fell to my knees, holding onto my sword for support. My wound was taking its toll. I had a gaping hole in my chest where I had been impaled by a cursed battle pike. Sizzling black blood oozed from the wound and I began to feel light headed. I looked around ad I starting carving a rune in the earth before me. I summoned forth a small stump, upon which rested a flute. I began to lay, and with my melody came flying a small black raven, which perched on the stump and eyed me curiously.
"Get...help..." I told the raven as I attached a small scroll to its leg. I watched the raven flying off into the distance, and then I collapsed onto the stump. I felt the cold hard rain beating on my once royal blue armor, now stained black with cursed blood. My leggings and greaves were ripped and tattered in many places, and my arm guard was shattered. My sword however, remained untouched, radiant with its glowing divine platinum. Its diamond and sapphire encrusted hilt glimmered like a small beacon in the rain. Then, My breath and vision faded, and upon my sword appeared a tiny but noticeable crack. My consciousness drifted, and my mind fell into darkness...
