#1008685 Titan Design Results!

Posted by BigGrim on 29 November 2022 - 14:50

Hi there everyone.

Today we are announcing the winners of our Fallen Sword Titan Design Competition!

First up, thank you to all of you who took part! There are loads of entries that we enjoyed and several that we may yet make use of.

Without further ado, our finalists:

First Place: kingcap. Prize: 400 FSP and the Epic Item for their titan once it is released.

Name: Zurgol the Tiny

Classification: Greenskin

Lore: Zurgol was once a runt in terms of goblins, he acted cowardly and flee at the slightest hint of a fight. Because of this, he was often the target of scorn and attacked even by his own kind. One day he fled his home however, hoping to find a new land where he could live unafraid. He travelled and searched, but each area beyond the last was harder and more inhospitable for him. Eventually he gave up and attempted to return home, but having travelled for so long, passing through so many unknown passages and portals, he became lost. This however, would mark the beginning of the change for him. He found a decrepit and abandoned tower, once belonging to a powerful wizard. He began exploring, in search of food or water he eventually came to the highest levels, and found a potion in a glass box, surrounded by a magic circle that was long since destroyed from the touch of age and the sorry state of the tower. Believing he had nothing else to lose, he broke the glass and drank the potion. It forced his body to grow and change, becoming dozens of feet tall and granted newfound strength. Though an imperfect product, and the reason for its original containment, the growth he experienced was irregular and irreversible.

Physical Description: 30-40ft tall, one leg is thicker then the other, one arm is 3-4 feet shorter then the other, and his head is the normal size of a goblins head.

---

Second place: Revitalize. Prize: 200 FSP and the Epic Item for their titan

Name: Johari The Eyeless

Classification: Golem

Lore: Once a man of great ambition and drive, Johari, a blind man, wanted to become the greatest warrior-mage the world had ever seen. A man known to be kind and caring, but ruthless on the battlefield. He ventured far and wide in search for greatness. Johari slew any man, woman, beast or pest alike that ever dared cross his path.

One fateful evening while he rested before a great battle, the wizard he planned on facing the next morning had concocted a dire curse and placed it upon Johari as he slept.

This curse that was placed had done nothing more than work against the wizard, because Johari had melded with the forest beneath him and became the mountain itself that he laid upon. When he woke up, everything around him started to tear and crumble.

Johari had become what he sought out to be, but the manner it happened in, sent him into a never ending rage, annihilating anything in his way. Even those he had come to care for.

Physical Description: Mountain - Forest hair - waterfall mouth - eyeless - Long, Ridged limbs - weighs up to 100b tonnes

---

Third place: Belaric. Prize: 100 FSP and the Epic Item for their titan

Name: Doctor Morbidstein’s Revenge!

Classification: Magical

Lore: Unknown to his enemies, Doctor Morbidstein undertook the ultimate experiment - and operated on his own brain! The crazed genius believed he could double his power, by halving his mind! One half remained in his human body, the other, fused to a sorcerous copy of its missing hemisphere, was implanted into a gigantic hulk located beneath Castle Morbidstein. Fearing his Sons, aware of the twisted dimension and its imperfect copies, the good Doctor created a failsafe: that for as long as they lived, his other self would remain buried. But! In the event of his and their defeat, and after a waiting period to lull his enemies into a false sense of security, his gigantic alter ego would emerge from the ruins to terrorise his opponents and begin his experiments anew in a gigantic walking laboratory!

Never resting, never staying still, this titan teleports across Erildath in search of new specimens, even as it drops new Morbidsteinian monstrosities in its foul wake. With the human Doctor long defeated, this colossus considers itself the once and future Doctor, only true inheritor of the Morbidstein name!

Physical Description: A gargantuan patchwork flesh golem, with an oversized head half-wreathed in dark sorcerous energy. One arm holds a shovel, the other a cage, all the better to collect its specimens with! In its empty abdomen is a hollow crystal cube filled with grisly labs, each occupied by a tiny (life-sized) simulacrum of the original doctor, madly creating new monstrosities from the fresh harvest!

---

Congratulations to the winners! We hope everyone who entered has enjoyed this! As we said at the start, we’ll have to adapt these and shrink their lore a touch but the ideas have been just wonderful!

Thanks again,

#1006065 Super Elite hunting - some tips

Would be nice to see more than the last 10 SE kills. The last 30-40 kills would be better.

I do not think we need a buff to make finding SE easier.

I do not think we need a buff to make finding chests easier.

I think this would constitute dumbing down the game: it would make something previously harder and/or tedious much easier.

I say this as a titan hunter who was within 50K of ruby when the titan doubler came out. I got ruby 2 weeks later, maybe less. I put in serious hours for those lower level titan medals. Folk who have earned diamond titan after the doubler came into existence have no idea how hard it was, or what the 6 hour grind you needed to do to secure the terror titan meant, when you were waiting, for hours, for a guild team to drop in and steal it. And sometimes they did, and you just had to suck it up. 1 HP at a time. I look back now and wonder why I bothered.

Get off my lawn. No really. I cut it nicely.

Relic Defender is a waste.  In addition to the reasons already stated above, the only time a player will use it is when they are actively engaged in a relic "struggle" with another guild.  Otherwise, nobody is going to waste their stam to keep relic defenders buffed 24/7 on the off chance someone might come along and decide they want that particular relic at that particular time.  People don't usually give a warning that they are about to take a relic and once the relic has been taken, there's no point in using the buff because the damage has already been done.  Extremely limited use and not worth the effort.

Relic Defender will not do anything. Reign of Terror should not be a buff to begin with. Especially after multiple group attempts have been added to be able to RNG capture relics. We are littered with copious amounts of detrimental and impactful RNG buffs. Odds are you will get a concoction of procs by the time you've exhausted 10 group hits.

For the players that play this part of the game, this is not fun.

Remove Reign of Terror and don't add Relic defender.

All for one makes sense, SE sets simply do not match up after a certain level due to scaling. I've not ran the numbers on exactly how impactful it will be. But I'm sure someone (Toreth) will do that for us.

Not sure galvanize is necessary, seems like we keep caking on power creep and not having an equal and opposite correction to PVE. On top of that having more buffs is not necessarily good for PvP. We already have so many means of passively and actively increasing HP.

What is trying to be accomplished with Galvanize and Relic Defender?

#1008535 Fallen Sword Roadmap (Nov - Feb 2023)

Posted by Arioche on 25 October 2022 - 08:19

Sad to see no arena on this roadmap - see quote below from February 2022.

Quests? Like, finishing the Epic Quest?

https://www.fallensw...st&quest_id=677

https://forums.hunte...na#entry1007162

Hello Tilley!

Yes, I am quite aware that there are things still to work through!  :) And as such GvG and Arena have not appeared on the roadmaps.

As I'm sure you are aware, Fallen Sword has a relatively small team, and a lot of the changes people ask for acquire the need of backend changes that, due to the age of the game, can cause other things to break. We understand that it can be quite frustrating waiting for substantial changes to areas which players are quite fond of, but all we can ask is your understanding and patience.

Thank you.

#1008536 Fallen Sword Roadmap (Nov - Feb 2023)

Posted by Arioche on 25 October 2022 - 08:38

I don't know what % of players would want HCS to spend time on questing content but hopefully there are meaningful or substantial rewards that are hard to ignore like the epic quests or the Christmas quests at level 3000 for leveling pots.

Thanks for the update!

Hello!

As a writer myself, we will be able to dabble into content that admittedly hasn't seen much attention. In regards to Epic Questlines that have yet to finish (most notably Present Darkness) I personally will be happy to deliver that conclusion that so many of you have been asking for  :)

Thank you!

#1008527 Super Elite Sets

Posted by basti7 on 22 October 2022 - 11:45

Hey,

as always my english is not that good but I try my best.

We all know the good old times when SE items were pretty expensive like Malphas with 50-80 fsps AND useful.

Now new Legendary and the Tier 5 break all SE sets below 500 - sure, HCS tries to make them better with a new buff and some items are now worth to farm them because of new recipes. Just as an example: The earth hammer destroyed the whole Malphas Set. Sekhs set the Steep Nojor, Malphas and Triclopse.

But if you see the ladder nearly nobody uses SE items - they do not fit in setups or are weaker (or maybe just useful for some lvls). Especially the old setup like Vexus, Samurai, Cockatrice, Steep Nojor, Xinderoth or Lishka need an update / boost.

I tried to make a list and want to show you some facts.

Level Gaps:

There are many Level Gaps which could be filled with new ones.

SE set to next SE set

680-780

820-900

1000-1100

1000-1100

1100-1225

1225-1425

1460-1600

1600-1750

1750-1915

1925-2000

2000-2225

2225-2400

2400-2575

2575-2625

2650-2750

2750-2900

3000-3275

3275-3400

3475-4000

4000-4650

4650-5000

All red marked ones are more than 175 lvls without new SE sets!

2 / 3 / 4 piece-setups:

1-780: only 3x2-piece setups. The rest is mostly 3. 4 is rare (3x).

781-5000: 4x3-piece setups. The rest is mostly 2. No 4-piece-setup.

Boots, Amulet, Ring and Rune are rare.

Stats:

-I tried to assign but sometimes it is difficult so the list is NOT 100% accurate-

60 SE sets

ARM/DEF - 1

ATT/ARM - 10

ATT/ARM/DAM - 11

ATT/DEF/DAM - 5

ATT/DAM - 10

ATT/DEF - 10

DAM/ARM - 7

DAM/DEF - 4

HP/ARM - 1

HP/DEF - 1

HP/DAM - 0
HP/ATT - 0

10 / 20 on stat X are the most.

I am not sure why nowadays the "real set category" is hidden until you wear the whole set. I want to see first if this setup gives me more attack or more defense (like Corbalz).

"Boosting buffs" shoud be stronger without the +10/20 stats. But correct me if I am wrong.

Suggestions:

1. Tier 5

Yes, Tier 5. Hunt X Sets to create a "new" set. Maybe for new higher level. Amakiri Level 60 to Tier 1 lvl 100, Tier 2 lvl 200, Tier 3 lvl 300, Tier 4 400, Tier 5 500 (or even higher) - would be a possibility to break the Epics on ladder and to create new setups.

2. Customized Setups

Give us the possibility to create own setups. Design 9 pieces and each 2 give a bonus which you determine - like one Item gives + 600 STAT and 1 Set 2x + 1200 STAT BONUS

It will be complicated, I know. But often you find a good setup but 2 or 3 items are missing (like Boots and Ring/Rune) - so it would be a great possibility to decide which items and stats I need.

Make them breakable, untradeable, rare ressources, low drop, low inventing or other options to make them rare.

3. Cave Setups

The dwarven setups need an update.

Deathspinner (no set, okay) would be as a 4 piece set in higher levels maybe interesting too

4. Combine SE with Ladder or GvG or Arena

Using small amounts of RP, Ladder points or Arena tokens to create new SE setups + SE ressources.

Make them breakable, untradeable, rare ressources, low drop, low inventing or other options to make them rare.

5. Offline Stam-Gain setups

Grim said we do not make Epic-Setups. But "Stamina + Stam Gain" setups already exist. So my last suggestion is to make SE sets with Stam Gain or Stamina (less than Epics) - so you can stay offline in PvP gear without losing all Stam Gain.

Maybe 9 pieces too like the Hoof-Setup and combined with customizing. Would be a REAL NEW thing. Sure, we can make them super rare / hard to get / low inventing + drop chances and maybe non tradeable too.

Have a nice weekend,

b7
