I've been following this "thread" closely. As personally I am in favour of moonfrost's suggestion. And I have yet to see/read what your credible argument against it is. Are you trying to "unravel" this thread with utter nonsense?

 

Can I ask what your original intention was? As I have no clue. Are you against normal 100 stam hits providing a tick towards the Smasher Medal and when doing this smash also receiving 10 prestige? Do you think it should be one or the other but not both? And if so why?

 

Do you want to level in Fallen Sword without any consequence? Is that what you think "all" levellers want? And if there is consequence, which is a 100 stam PvP hit, that is why you think so many levellers will leave the game? Let's put it this way. If you want to level with no consequence why not just add up numbers on a calculator.

 

Personally, I would go further than moonfrost's suggestion so I've taken the liberty of adding to it. I know you like lists so I've added one for you.

 

  • normal 100 stam hits provide a tick towards Smasher medal. Only applies once in every 3 day period like PvP Prestige.
  • The amount of Prestige you receive for a PvP win should equate to stam used. So a 100 stam hit that wins should get 100 Prestige.
  • Prestige should also be given to a succesful defense using the mechanics of no. 2
  • The introduction of a PvP themed Global Event.
  • Increase the level ranges for PvP attacks.

 

How'd you like em apples?

 

Oh, while we are asking, any chance you can remove the GvG cap moo brothers and sisters? Silly question I know but I just don't like it.

Honestly clock i've grown quite tired of your LvLer/PvPer ploy. We are all players, enough of this elitism stuff. Oh "levelers" are cowards. Everyone but PvPers are cowards. Everyone's opinion is valid regardless of what they enjoy to do. The bounty board was NOT created to lose 5... Certainly thats not how the BB was meant to be. There is supposed to be numerous of random people hitting on bounties not an orchestrated group finishing 9 hits then moving on to finish another 9. That's where the exploit comes in.

 

After waiting a few ladder resets

 

~ Currently 17 active people on the ladder playing in total

 

~ 2 Bounties at this moment in time, most of the time none

 

~ PvP totally stagnant

 

Why did people want to revert back to this inactive system?

 

~ Simple for whatever reason certain people love the old inactive BB where they can exploit dropping people 5

 

~ They did not like the new active BB because orchestrating pointless GvP was impossible

 

~ The newer BB was more of an actual BB by definition than the old BB will ever be

 

~ Xp loss on HIT in the seasons was taken away *You lost levels still*

 

How can we go forward at this point? 

 

~ We really can't the system can not be revamped again to be reverted back unless there is compromising on both ends.

 

~ Throw rewards to temporarily fix the problem for a short period of time

 

~ Focus on other aspects where people won't complain

 

Was the old system perfect?

 

~ No, of course it wasn't yet

 

~ It was definitely being perfected everyday slowly, a few more weeks and it would of been perfect

I really can't find any compelling pro's of reverting back to the ladder system. Overall i think it was very selfish of people to want to revert back. The new system had plenty of potential and was overall good for the community as a whole. It really doesn't add up either with the activity in this old system in relation with the people wanting to revert. Potential solutions could be simply adding the option to post bounties aswell in the seasons but after posting a bounty on a certain individual you have a 24h CD before you can post another on that person. Either that or you can only post 5-10 bounties a day. Also add back in severely nerfed xp loss to the seasons. Also if you are a higher level hitting a lower level you can implement a formula to nerf xp loss to them. Just compromise and give both ends what they want. I'm sure the players who actively PvP won't mind going back to the new system if they had the ability to post bounties and hit for xp on seasons and vise versa. I think its time we stop being stubborn and come together as one entity trying to fix the problem

 

For example

 

50 stamina hits in seasons were equivalent to 100 stamina xp loss. Simply make xp loss based on "10" stamina hits.

 

If someone 500+ levels on you hits you make it equivalent to "5" stamina hit which is half xp loss of a "10" stamina hit.

Have you ever thought people voted no because they felt the season was imperfected? They didn't necessarily want to revert. Bet you the results would be WAY different if it was less grey.

Important change suggestion...
 
Just to reiterate, what I'm suggesting is:
 
1) Continue to allow players to post bounties for unranked PvP attacks (in addition to the automatic bounties posted by the game based on gold stolen)
 
2) Keep bounties at 10 hits, but change it so that the bounty reward goes randomly to a player, weighted on the amount of hits done. So for example if a bounty required say 10 hits, if a player completed all 10 hits they would get the reward. However if 2 players each completed 5 hits on the bounty, they would both have an equal chance of being rewarded with the bounty. If 3 players took on the bounty, and two players did 3 hits and one did 4, they would have 3/10, 3/10 and 4/10 chance each of getting the bounty reward.

The extra chest at 15k kills was bogus!! Had we known we would receive and extra beforehand I'm certain 90% of people would have gone for it. As such it is an unfair advantage to those who got 15k kills+, versus those just shy of 15k. I move that either everyone who participated receive the extra chest, or no one does!! And for the cows it would be very wise to let us know beforehand about possible bonuses we could aim for. Action is needed by the cows to fix their error!!

Last I checked PvP attacks have risks. If you want risk free PvP, there's this thing called GvG. Oh, and in GvG, you get 25 free PvP hits that cannot be bountied. Otherwise don't cry when you get bountied for your PvP hit.

At the end of the day, it causes too many issues. Yet NONE of you have managed to say why taking XP is more important than PvP Rating. Why do you HAVE to take XP? So you can keep beating someone down? Unacceptable. That kind of behaviour drives people away. Doing it to gain rating still gives you the reason, risk and consequence, just without the ability to ruin someone's game time, and if that is why you want XP loss, to be able to negatively impact someone else's game, then there is something wrong.

Most of the time, beating someone down is done on someone who also beats people down. It doesn't happen very often to people who don't pvp themselves, and if you mean the BB, it never ever happens to someone innocent, since you have to attack to get bountied in the first place. 

 

Rating is just a side-effect for most pvpers, something that comes without anyone really paying attention to it. Therefore it's small reason, no risk, and irrelevant consequece. 

 

I know how you feel about this, but I would like to mention something here. I used to be second in command of FFS for a long time, and I did nothing but level. I was scared of pvpers, since I thought I'd lose 100s of levels if I got attacked... yes, I was that ... uninformed. I was soooo wrong...  pvp is FUN! I started bounty hunting when I got bored at sitting at end of content, and for me, pvp reignited the interest I had lost in the game, and I know it is the same way for plenty of people in the game.

 

A level is worthless if you never risk losing it. It's the same way as with most things in life. You don't really value things unless you know you might end up losing them. I know I'd get bored the second I knew I never risk losing any xp again. 

 

And again... most of the targets are pvpers themselves anyway. You can't be bountied unless you hit someone.
