In other words: Good game, it has been fun. Servers will be up as long as people buy Eldevin points.

Well kudos for you people finally admitting that you abandoned this game.

Glad I havent logged in for 6 months.

It was a nice game and really enjoyed my time, but everything dies eventually.

I would return if there was mobile version of this game.Seriosly HCS this game is a lot better and more free 2 play than most of what is out there in the mobile market. If polished it can get very big, maybe if FS app is litle bit sucessfull you will make one for Eldevin?

Definitely me, I am still following the game and come to the forums daily and try to login once a week or so to catch up with the few that are online.

I actually probably prompted this post, as a few hours before he posted here, he responded to some of my skype questions about Eldevin.

I would 100% come back and be one of its biggest supporters if this game had updates both in content and improvements. I feel at the moment though that I have finished (which is an odd word for this sort of game) as much as I can here, and my time can be better spent elsewhere. Dont get me wrong, I did countless hours of grinding here, and I do not mind that one bit, but I dont really have anything to even grind for any more (only TA kills but was getting about 10 a day last time I tried as no one went there anymore). So right now, I spend my gaming time elsewhere, but I would most certainly come back again if there was more to do.

I know with the small dev team, when there was a dev team for Eldevin, updates can and do take a while. Now with even less people that time is going to increase even more.

There have been many great ideas to implement that would drastically increase the longevity of the game, from better rewards/drops, rarer rewards/drops, unique drops, custom craftables, more PvP maps, more PvP modes, bring back group queue pvp, expand the guild system to include guildhouse, GvG, guild emblems and gear, and even your own level 50 and also completing the ascended dungeons. Quite a lot more can be added to that list too, thats just off the top of my head.

How about to drive some development hours and get the lvl 50 content out (and maybe more depending on how much is raised) you guys run another "founder" pack scheme, call it something else, and have different rewards, but something similar. Could even run it through kickstarter or something like that, so those investing could see what each goal would get us. To get you guys rolling and releasing content again thats one thing I could think of.

But please, dont do that if it will just go back to how it is now afterwards. Like others have said, this game didnt get the following it deserved for a few reasons, one being a lack of timely updates. If we have a couple of people to stick around to release small upgrades (new weapons, mobs, minor quests) that doesn't require huge updates (world maps etc). Perhaps even let users design things if there is a way you can incorporate user design into the game.

Anyway, TLDR - I would 100% be back if this game was active in the devs eyes

I want it to be known that I also skype messaged moj about 1 hour before he started writing this post :P and I would 100% be back and pay the game if it was active.

In my limited experience Eldevin is unique among  MMO's . There are more bf/gf .. husband/wife, mother/father/son brother/sister players than i have seen in others. The percentage of these is rather high considering the small player base. Is it possible that this fact has escaped HC and whatever marketing they are doing is not targeting the right demographic?

In addition, I am baffled by the fact that HC reports 450k players while at peak times only 200 are online. That is the worst conversion rate for a product that I have ever seen.  :( granted if one takes into account the fact that not all active players are online at once,  it still suggests that total active players are not likely to exceed 1000. This is still a terrible retention of players that have downloaded or logged into the game.  HC needs to take a hard look at their marketing.

That said the family demographic that i was alluding to above is nothing compared to the many many gamers who love fps or casual smartphone games. MMO's in general have a tough time making it.  Nevertheless, given the expenditure of resources reflected in the development of Eldevin,  I feel that HC would be best served if they either sell this game,  sharpen up their marketing or, even better,  figure out what elements are missing to retain a larger player base.

HC's:   I don't mean to sound like a know-it-all.. just tossing out thoughts.  You may count on my support in any event. There is enough entertaining  content in this game to still be fun for this less demanding player.

Dear HCS, you told us, many many weeks ago, that the lvl 50 updat was almost done. Cannt you do that update. Even if it is only 1 dungeon. Forget about scribe, AH, new gear, new potions, new receipes and so on. Just launch what you have finished! (please). And if you dont have anything finished, then take us serious then, and tell us. Not that hard, but would be nice :)

Keep up the good work HCS!! :)

I have been playing this game for about 18 months. I love this game and have enjoyed playing it. I have supported this game since I started playing. I do think that the devs of this game have refused to listen to the players, have refused to give this game the attention it truly deserves, and most of all do the required maintenance that a game needs. No matter how small the team is, maintenance is needed to at least keep a small community of players playing. I understand bills have to be paid and money has to made in order to do pay those bills but............ if HCS doesn't give the basics how can they ask players to continue to support this game? I personally ask the HCS team to not let this game DIE! This is a small but tight knit community that truly enjoys the friendships that has developed during game play. Do small things instead a 1 large thing at a time, advertise, and do regular maintenance. once you get players to start playing give them encouragement to continue to play by making sure it is playable.  Listen to players, and be more honest with the players, and most of all communicate with the players. Please, Please, Please do not abandon us when we as players have not abandoned yall (HCS).

In 2017 it's the end of java plugins in all browser, the devs must change all the system... that why.... ;)

Why no take Unity like P.A.M.E.L.A Game ? :D
(This is not a rival game, no need to delete my message, It's an example)

Goodbye everybody, I may come back in the game in 2058 biggrin.png

I think that Java Web Start might be a suitable alternative.

Hey folks,

Sorry for the lack of updates as of late, unfortunately Eldevin never quite gained the following it required for us to justify allocating our full development team to it. As such we've had to scale down development time. However we intend to continue to fully support the game and still plan to release future updates, but currently we have no time-scale for these as of yet.

~The Eldevin Team

Hi there, I hope that you will continue when u can to update the game... I just started playing this game cause it has awesome reviews on steam that I read that made me want to give Eldevin a whirl...and I do have to say that this game by far is infact the best Free to play game, I have ever played...Its better than runescape as far as i am concerned...I love the fact that you dont have to cash shop if you dont want to...I love the fact I acquired a free mount just by doing dungeon know that is extremely awesome...I love the crafting in this game as well and the fact you can do everything on just one character....This game is awesome even with a low player database at the time....But i sure hope you can eventually start adding updates especially the profession called squire, I am curious to see what the profession is gonna be like....

Sorry to hear this, but I do think it's overdue. I've been checking back about once every 3 months or so, although I have not played in years. Primarily, I wanted to finish the quests at level 50, but at this point, I don't even remember the story.

I'll give just a bit of feedback as to why I haven't been playing all this time, and perhaps you can apply it to your next game. There wasn't enough variance in equipment stats, so there was no reason to hunt for drops at all (which is a very addictive element to any MMO); once you get your dungeon set, that's it! There was also a lack of anything to do with your gear at the end of the game. I know you were working on guilds, and attempting to make PvP alluring, but it never quite worked. Lastly, a game like this should not launch without a guild system. There was a huge influx of new players when this was green-lit, but nearly all of them fell through the cracks without a system in place to form their own community.

I don't mean to rub salt into an old wound. I did really enjoy this game, and I don't regret supporting you financially. I do agree that it's likely time to move on, and perhaps focus on something new. If it's interesting, I'll be there.

Good luck, and thanks for the entertainment.

(It looks like we'll never get that barber shop)

Have you guys considered making this a smartphone/tablet game? I seriously think that's the best course of action here. With a bit of marketing here and there you can definitely pull it off. Think about how people would see it on the ITunes store, it would be the Runescape for tablets. Anyhow, good luck and all the best for the future.
