Although not many people play games with the music enabled, I personally remember an MMORPG best by it's unique songs. When i think of the games I've played in the past I can think of songs, what areas they play at, and which are my favorites. Music is a big part of an MMORPG to the few who listen to it. That is why I am suggesting that a music tab be added to allow us to select which tracks to play. This would also require that the songs be named.

 

The interface would need the following characteristics:

1. Preferably given an unused hot key.
2. It would need to show the track name that is currently playing
3. A scroll-able list of all the different tracks which is alphabetized.
4. The ability to play a track by finding it in the scroll able list and clicking on it.
5. A small fade in fade out when switching tracks.

Anyway, on topic. I like the music in the game how it is, having a set piece for a set area. If they were to implement what you are suggesting I hope that the default option would be to leave it as is.

 

Also, if they do name the tracks etc, they could sell soundtracks (digital/hard copy) through their shop thingo.

It would operate both ways by playing default tracks when a track is not selected or when it finished.

Yeah this is low priority just compared to some more important features atm, but a sound list with unlocks will be added one day, and it was kind of structured with it in mind when the sound stuff got revamped already, just needs time allocated to making it.
