Most of the loading issues people are encountering are normally caused by Java caching the files it receives. This could be because a file just happens to be corrupt or it might be an out of date file, because we've updated the game.

I'm putting together this quick little guide to show you how to do it.
  • Close your browser first
  • Go to the control panel and open the Java Control Panel
  • In the section that talks about Temporary Internet Files click on Settings
  • In the next window delete your temporary java files
Here's how this should look in the java control panel:

Speaking of Java... what version of Java is required to play the game?  I am using a library computer and it will not let me start the game because the Java version is out of date, however I am not allowed to download anything on this computer.  Any advice on that? Thanks.  By the way, current Java version on this computer is Version 6 Update 20, Standard Version.

The game requires Version 7.

Thank you.  I have that on my home computer, and I'll be getting them to update it here in the future.

It saves it from the url it was pulled from, there's no naming.

For Mac's

click the apple icon in the upper left of your menu bar

enter system preferences

on the bottom of that menu under "other" Click on Java

wait for java to open in a new window

On the inital tab, click on "settings" under the Temporary Internet Files section

Click Delete Files

select ALL boxes

Finally Confirm deletion.

I've got the game to load ONCE. I was trying to create my avatar and it froze to a white screen. I did everything suggested here, but, the white screen keeps coming up.

Your experience might vary depending on whether you use openJDK or Oracle's JDK, if you are using one try installing the other. If possible open your package manager and see what version you have installed, you need at least version 7. We (usually) can't help with bugs in the JDK specifically.

I am playing on Linux Mint using OpenJDK 7.

I have a few bugs while playing, not sure if they are caused by my connection or running it on linux, but I can play.
