Hey HCS,

With the idea that everyone will be hunting come Friday with the double XP event, there is going to be a TON of gold flowing into the game. I know that Hoof had mentioned that the Hell Forging update may be done by then, but I don't think that's enough to balance the amount of gold coming into the cave with all of the conserve potions available from Global Chests and Donation events.

My suggestion is to have a legendary event for the caves. Maybe make it so that there are more legendaries than the usual amount of 2-3 so that we can waste more gold. I know BG had mentioned a legendary event, but I don't think that would probably go well during double XP since everyone wants to mainly gain levels more than anything else.

Community - my question to you - what LE's do we want to see in the caves?

My legendaries would include (some for personal wants, and others based on quick glance at AH): Su Kellos, Vorik Hydra, Harvester of Lost Souls and Glauckii. I stopped at 700, but I bet there are plenty of others below 700 that could use a coming out party.

Thanks for your time.

Come up with a few suggestions and I'll consider them.

Personally, and this is just my opinion, so please don't proceed in flaying me alive for this... I'm not up for seeing them in the caves. If there ARE any legendaries, I would rather see them in the field. For three reasons:

1.:The caves are functioning more-than well. I spent 30 fsp's worth of gold, and got ABSOLUTELY NOTHING - not even a common item, even less a potion or anything usable. Except for experience of course - telling me never to attempt this again. I only had two buffs on: FI 1150 (distilled) and reckoning 175, and deactivated distil just to be sure that only FI would be boosted. Yes, I'm aware of the reckoning pot and the epic FI potion combination as an option - sorry, I didn't have the resources for that. But if this is all a good level FI, reckoning, and nearly 6.000.000 gold can get me... thank you, but no thank you. If this is how HCS would put them in, I'm not sure that it would be only me feeling something like "Hey, here are your christmas presents! Oh, wait, you've been naughty, so I'm taking them back, but hold on a second! Don't cry! You can still LOOK at them!". I personally would rather not see any LE's all together than have them in the caves. On other occasions...I don't mind. But at least, please not on Christmas.

2.: Tradition. Before anyone describes how "important it is for the economy", "blablabla", I'm well-aware of why it is generally considered a "safer" option to create a gold sink in the forms of LE's. And also, I'm not aiming particulary for prices to drop(I couldn't really care - I've earned enough fsp to be able to afford even ff'ed sets - instead, as someone who has recently returned to the game, I would simply like to experience the thrill of the hunt. As it was long-long ago, when I could, after quite an effort, finally get my hands on 2 personally aquired Mancrusha pieces (had to buy the rest though, but it was amazing to fight LE's). I'd be happy to re-live that.

3.: Too much gold pouring into the game? Well, to be honest, I don't have a full view of how many fsp's will also be coming in during christmas via supporting the game and getting presents for others - and I know most of these point have other purposes than to be exchanged for gold - But I'm sure that fsp sellers will be able to hold prices at around 210-220gold/fsp even in relatively bad scenarios - and in a few weeks, prices will be back to normal anyways. The 48 hours of the event will be a time when mostly everyone will try to get rid of/or bank gold, but even if the "economy is shaken", I doubt it would be too bad.

All in all - I would rather have the LE's in the realms or no LE's at all. I understand this may be an unpopular opinion, and I also expect the leading economists of our community to harshly challenge my views in a throughoutly detailed explosion of counter-thoughts, but I don't mind. I was only expressing my thoughts (or one could say, wishes lol:D) - I meant no harm.:)

Which ever creature drops the wither 450 potions They are usually happily received and a good gold sink.

*also please only put 1 LE per cave as more then 1 makes it harder to get the desired drops which means people are less likely to try

LEs in the caves would solve both those problems.

2 - You will still have to personally kill a LE to get the drop, but with them in the caves, gold must be paid to have a chance at attacking them.

3 - Putting the LEs in the caves will better stabilize the gold prices to 210k or lower than having FSP merchants trying to stabilize it there.

If we were to have ANY LEs in the realms, they would have to give a good enough reward for the stamina used to get the drops, otherwise, no one will go after the LE items and we will still have the overabundance of gold.

SIDE OPTION: Have the gold drop rate per creature decreased altogether.

I am pretty sure there will be more than a few high level Sacrifice pots used, so the "overabundance of gold" will not be as bad as some may think. My 2 cents.

Key word: few. There are more than a few people playing this game. So even with the players getting a million more here and there, we still have hundreds of people that will level in the same 48 hours and that total will add up.

I'd be surprised if most folk don't use a decent sacrifice potion over the event ...

There's a concentrated batch of levelling that will involve as many people as can possibly take part - so obviously the "sharks" will be circling amongst the "seals", looking for an easy meal :)

(no offence intended, sharks and seals was just the best analogy I could come up with of the top of my head ... )

Homer : Marge, don't discourage the boy. Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals .. except the weasel.

Eddie Izzard : The National Rifle Association say that guns don't kill people, people do. But I think the gun helps, you know ? I think it helps. I think just standing there going "BANG" - that's not going to kill too many people, is it ?

I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but it seems that everything I eat lately turns to poo ...

put some jetpacks on that seal because at the speed of gaining levels during an XP event, tis hard to catch the prey :P

I only wish there was a promo pack,, last year was so much fun circling all day long waiting for a seal with a couple million sitting out, watching them appear on the bottom of your range and hoping nobody scares them away till just before they get out of the range.

To those of you saying you'd prefer them in the Realms, Cave Specific LE creatures will not be appearing in the Realms.

Ah. This is where it shows that I haven't been around for the most of the past few years - I never knew (or thought that it would come to this) that HCS would ever create goldsink-LE's. Of course, on one hand I understand the incentive behind it. Although I hate to admit it: losing most of the good ol' fun seems to be a relatively affordable price in exchange for keeping our beloved virtual economy safe of world-shocking recessions, reducing FS-unemployment rate, generally raising the quality of healthcare for the dragon, demon, and perhaps ogre societies... and even contributing to charity-funded development projects of third-world realms. In this case think I don't have too much against seeing the GSLE's in the caves any more (especially after seeing the information that's available on Wiki and learning that there are hardly any non-GSLE's left at mid-or-high levels left anyways).

Guess I'll be focusing on a few levels and pvp during the event!:D

As it looks, most people don't think we need cave LE's - which is fine with me. I had thought it might be a more popular suggestion given the amount of gold that will be brought into the game. While I agree most people will be using sacrifice potions along with hunting, looking at the economy before the latest round of global booster potions to come out, within a week of the potions being distributed, the average marketplace price jumped from about 170k/fsp to 190k/fsp. Taking into account that more people will be hunting in a lessened time period, prices of FSP will most surely jump as people want to convert their gold to dots.

As for bringing out LE's into the regions, I don't think that it would be considered a huge success. I feel that the Halloween global event with LE's in the realms was not a success either. I know personally, most of my 15k stamina during the period was used hunting global creatures, which didn't leave much for hunting LE's. If you plan on releasing LE's into the realms, at least wait until the 48 hours for the double XP is over - imho.

Kedyn, I'm with you on this one. As a relic of the past, I completely misunderstood what's going on nowadays. I thought that originally EVERY LE has (or should at least have...) a corresponding realm - and it is solely up to HCS whether these critters will go in the realms or not. Seeing how it is and understanding what HCS has done to LE's however, I've changed my views 180°, right around. I'm all for seeing the LE's in the caves after all - seeing that 99% of recent and present-day (non special-occasion)LE's were bred into the caves by the Allmighty Cow God and haven't tasted and never shall, the grass or blood of any realm. :D
