Why I did not rush off to test the new PvP changes > option for 2 loadouts?

If I wanted to go pvp (efficiently) today to check the changes with update... it would cost me 250 EP to respec, then after say 1 hour of pvp it would cost me another 250 EP to respec to go run ascended dungeons (efficiently)... after 2 hours of ascended dungeons maybe I want to pvp again, it would cost me another 250 EP. Tomorrow? the same thing and so on and so on.

 

Do we see a problem here?  :P

 

I know it has been suggested many times, but lets suggest it again... would it be possible to have 2 loadouts of attribute points, talents? 2 spell bar loadouts would be good too, if possible.

 

It could still cost us EP to reset each loadout when we want to tweak them.

I very much agree with every aspect of this suggestion except a too high of a double ep cost for both. If I could choose any ep amount it would be 350 ep to reset both pvp and pve loadouts or both pve loadouts,as its the standard start with a sub and won't leave people in a situation where they are forced to spend that much extra just to reset.

I agree, but that exists it costs 400ep and alot of hours, lol JK

That would be awesome, dasan has suggested that awhile ago...

naww i do quite well pvping on mob smash build, but yeah we need a 2nd layout.

Maybe you can buy a 2nd loadout for just 250ep........ obviously it will be a one time buy. :)

by "one time buy" i mean you have to buy it once only and it'll stick with you forever.

Noww on the issue of resets on loadout i suppose the trainer can give an option for "REset both loadout's" or one.. costing 250ep [as it is now]..

personaly i still think upon entering pvp it should give an option to reset talents, atribs, or both.

 

and it should give all players atribs/talent points = to level cap

 

this would be a temporary reset and would be reset to your original build once pvp had ended

 

then not only do people get to stop worring about having a pvp or pve build it also further balances pvp as the largest problem is capped players have the end game talents while early/mid game players do not. and with this change they would (but only during pvp)

 

also could have option to save your "temporary" pvp build so players wouldn't have to reassign it each and every time.

It might be a good idea. When considering mmos that had good pvp systems, only the ones that leveled the playing field with skill usage were any good. Player levels and equipment were the only variables. To have 3 variables in this game, aside from player skill, may be too much, and may be responsible for it being a game for the 1% of the "haves." If one were to change that, a level 15 player should have 45 levels worth of PvP talent points though.

 

Oh wait, I was suppose to disagree with everything he posts, I forgot.

 

I love PvP. I refuse to do it, and have done so for the past month. Why? My answer is always the same, "I am not speced into PvP anymore."

Summary of that post:

I tried PvP yesterday for this first time (in this game).  Had a really good time, least enjoyable part was playing with PvE spec, essentially nerfing myself.  Only additional suggestion was an 80% overlap between PvE and PvP specs to prevent abuse.  (Would, for example, leveling as a warrior then 2nd spec as prophet for PvP be considered abuse of the system?)

 

Eight prophets out there, interesting scenario :)

What are the devs opinion on this ? Is this a risky choice for ya since it stops people from buying respecs? If ya don't like my suggestion of the 2nd load out for pvp, may I suggest you try another one of guild wars pvp idea in which you can make a character that starts off with the max level cap but is only used for pvp meaning they can't leave a area to do PvE things.Then they can put rewards from pvp such as relics and gold in the storage chest.

IMO this is the best option as the others usually affect the whole game. This could be quite easily added without side-effects.

mongo's suggestion is good for end game players. but it does nothing to balance a level 10 will still only have level 10 worth of talents.

 

my suggestion (if they made it so you could save your temporary pvp build to auto load if wanted) would essentialy be the same while also adressing balance.

 

all though  it wouldn't effect HCS's sales of respec's as much as if the 2nd build was usable in pve aswell.

I know digging old posts is against rules, but this one is worth it! I would still love to have two load outs. If this will effect HCS income from respe's then it is understandable, but hell you could even charge a flat EP fee to open up the 2nd loadout... I would gladly pay it!

 

Could we get a rejected or considering at least? would be something to look forward to in the future if you are able to add it.  :)

That is great news L3fty! I for one have often wanted to do things in game, but had to skip it due to not wanting to respec and respec back after 30 minutes.  :)

 

This will be great for dungeon runs too, I could run in my main build when we have a tank available and switch to tank when we dont!
