Not sure if the potion effectiveness reduction was intended at the time (as part of the whole slow-down combat through reduced damage/healing). We can look at fixin' it though.

I'm reasonably sure we can do this, as the player already nicely dismounts to talk to npc's or open doors. I'll see what Anakiro thinks this morning :)

We're intending to buff the gems to return their value. There have also been a couple of errors in the hybrid weapon rolls which will be fixed (Mojawk might be able to mention more about that). We will have a talk about the set bonus too, though no promises there.

Have people actually seen hybrid items with stats better than a decently gemmed fabled weapon (considering the set bonus too)? If so can you post the item stats here for us to take a look at.

 

There's stuff going on under the hood of these items which should limit just how awesome they can become. There may be a problem with it, but we need to see examples if that's the case.

That's not quite the case Chealsea (not sure who said that). We're very much trying to balance the situation better than it is now. The argument is perhaps in making sure that pure builds have their one strength that they are the best in the game at, but not all round heroes.

 

For example a pure healer should be simply the ultimate healer in the game, but probably lacks in dps. Pure Templar should have the highest agro generation etc. Pure mage should have the best wizzard hat obviously ;) This is kind of necessary otherwise all the classes blend into the same thing. Also class balance is something even the largest and most successful of mmo's struggle with - it's really difficult to get right.

 

We're still gathering all the feedback from the various threads about talent changes, from which we will try and take the best decisions we can about the changes.

Basically, don't try to log off to escape a player in Trapper's Atoll, we don't want you to get off scot free for that. Ideally however if you logged off in the safe zone, you should escape the penalty.

The solo mode will simply be balanced for one player to progress through it easily enough at it's required level. We really don't have the manpower to do two re-balancings of each dungeon unfortunately.

 

However the ability to have a second spec which players can activate is something we would like to do, so then you will be able to switch easily between your pvp and solo dungeon spec.

Nah the new version of this zone is built around risk/reward. People generally seem to be enjoying running around the place which is cool :D

We've said we are going to add the solo dungeons and other solo content.

 

The problem is, there are only 7 or 8 full time developers working on Eldevin at the moment. We can't do everything at once, and some of these changes take more careful work than you might appreciate.

 

We're starting this process at the beginning. This may not benefit you immediately, however it is the intelligent thing to do as we lose the most players very early on in the game. Othalo Guardhouse has simply been rebalanced for one player, the other dungeons will have an actual solo mode; which is another system for us to make.

 

Stop making quit threads as they are against the rules of the forum.

If we did allow full zoom-in when using the hardware renderer, we would probably hide the players completely. Our current player/weapon models or spell effects are not suited to that perspective. Usually a game will switch to completely different higher resolution arm/weapon models for first person views.

 

Seeing as we probably don't have time to make those higher poly/res models, we'd just hide the player in the same way they do in World of Warcraft for their first person view.

 

Cowboy has made leaps and bounds with the hardware renderer though. It's performing really nicely at the moment :D Shouldn't be too long a wait now!

This instance reset thing sounds really frustrating. We'll be looking into it tomorrow.

 

People seem to manage Quartanos with a well coordinated group however, so I'm in no rush to nerf him.

 

Remember these ascended modes are the only real challenging group content in the game at the moment.
