If daily quests can get finished first, probably best to knock those out before daily events.. but im still very excited about daily events and the competitive nature of em..

I like the idea of having some kind of options to participated in the events. I have a question are we going to have to opt in for these events or are we just able to click and be accepted to go. Plus I like the idea of character upgrades, fsp, and stamina options.
I was wondering if you do a quest event for the day if we could get x amount of stamina or some kind of stamina reset would be interesting. Perhaps no potions, no gear, and maybe extra arena tokens or something for buy arena potions. Just a passing thought. I know when I was lower level it was so hard to win the arena to get the moves now you can buy items but it takes a lot of time. Just a thought and if I think of anything else I will let you know Hoof.
Thank you for posting this thread Hoof and I hope you will let the community what will be going on with seasons.

This is a great idea because it promotes daily activity which has been needed for a long time! What topic that has not been addressed is the mobile app. Most mobile app games give reasons to be able to play the game daily and hopefully with this type of system added and with the release of the mobile app it might actually bring in hundreds or thousands of new players to the game and even moreover it might bring back a lot of the amazing players who have long since left.
As for the type of events the most important thing is going to be Variety, variety, VARIETY! Please don't be afraid to implement a variety of events and varying ways of qualifying for the events! All of the ideas written here have some merit and this is an occasion when you can actually please the masses by providing a variety of ways to qualify or win the event based on the type. Some events should have stam limits, that way players have a reason to actually use those nice potions collecting dust in their backpacks. Some events should have leader boards, some should have Blind leaderboards, some events shouldn't have leaderboards at all and simply be like the globals where you qualify to win by completing X task. Quests would be really fun to add and would be incentive for players to use those potions!
I really think this could be the revitalization needed for Fallensword. But players who have huge stam banks shouldn't not be the winners every time but they shouldn't be discriminated against either. I think one problem with the way players think about competition aspect is they think they should be number 1!! This is ridiculous. If you want the top spot you have to earn it!! I would think it would be a ridiculous notion for a level 1 player with 500 stam bank to win the number 1 spot in a daily event! But essentally those players who are screaming for these events to be "fair" want exactly that. This is why VARIETY is key to these events in order to appease all players in some way. It will also allow players to be able to really decided whether they want to participate in the daily event or not. I know alot of EOC players will be participating everyday because they have very little left to use their stamina banks on. But with these events occurring daily it would reduce the need for HCS to continue to pump out pointless lvls. The fact that EOC is lvl 3000+ already is crazy! Its time to slow down EOC and begin to add quality to those lvls that players have been screaming for! Like adding in some very challenging quests that players can do. This will make new players a bit less intimidated when they join as well.
As for the rewards, that's the most difficult. I am a bit apprehensive about giving FSPs. Mainly because HCS has said FSP will never be given. In the past when HCS has said "Never" then changed their minds it has seen a mass exodus from the game. I'm refering mainly to the changes in the pvp/gvg structure. For example, Hoof has stated many times that there will NEVER be a way to opt out of PvP and if you want to protect yourself you should buy the XP lock. That's the way the game should have remained. Instead now you can buy PvP protection, which is ridiculous, you have to opt in and out of PvP ladder which probably shouldn't even exist but it does and this type of major changes in game functions have turned players off to the game they once loved and therefore they quit. Also giving out fsp as rewards will bring less donations and who really knows what it will do to the marketplace over the short term and long term of the game. FSP shards over time would have the same effect as giving out FSP, it would just take longer to see the effect so if you are going to give us purple dots, I would suggest starting with shards first to be able to analyze the effect it has on the game first!
In regards to rewards I still think Variety is the key! If you mix up the daily event with the daily rewards it creates an infinite amount of variety to the events allowing players to truly make the decision whether they want to use their stamina on the given event for the given reward. Examples of rewards that would entice player participation can be vast! Fsp, fsp shards, pvp tokens, RP, stamina, current stamina, max stamina, arena tokens, backpacks, guild upgrades, fragments, the list goes on.
Buy mixing and matching the event with different rewards it creates VARIETY! And it also will prevent players from dominating all the time.
Also I think giving the guild founder the right to withdraw FSP from the guild needs to be given the same way a guild founder can withdraw guild gold.
Thanks for putting some thought and effort into Fallensword Hoof, we have all missed you! And BigGrim too I guess.

Does anybody have any inkling of how this would affect guilds? I'm thinking gold, and xp of course.
There's the possibility that any given event/quest "could" involve going after critters, etc. many levels below you.
I like the ideas, just thought I'd mention this.

We could do Daily Quests first if you think that would be better? A lot of the work would be used in both Daily Quests and Daily Events, but it would actually be easier / faster to get Daily Quests working I think. What does everyone else think?
(I'd also like to add medals for Daily Quests too)
OMG, who is this and what did you do with the real Hoof?

I also agree that Daily Quests should come before Daily Events.
However, on the topic of Daily Events and the Stamina argument.
An idea for this could be perhaps implement an "Event Stamina Bank"
Not in the sense of the game providing us with stamina for the event, but more along the lines of we can take our own stamina and "transfer" it to the Event Bank. Which could have a max of say 10,000. So all players can transfer up to 10,000 Stamina to their event bank to be used on whatever daily event they choose. For the higher Stam bank players, obviously they could participate at max stam For more "consecutive" event, but it'll still be an even playing field for everyone that filled their Event bank to max.
Example, I currently have a Max stam of about 2,200, so it would take me approximately 5 days if I deposited all my stam every day, to participate in an event with a max 10,000 event stam bank. This may take me 5 days but I will be competing in that daily event on an even playing field with anyone running with a max event bank.
Again I'll say, this is NOT stamina provided to us, this is stamina that we are taking from ourselves and dedicating it to the daily events stamina bank. I hope I explained it clearly enough.

Against this. I see no need. Use your stam and your upgrades wisely.

Build up stam seek out a moment of glory and go for it didnt win? Well sorry the others probably still did better better luck next time.
Tournament events should have a winner and the winner should be the very best. If its the best in spending stam or something else who cares?
We all want goodies you gotta win to get the goodies. So if 500 players try to get goodies and only 200 win some 300 will be dissapointed and call it unfair or try better next time.
Hoof im certain ull find out a killer setup for them events no doubt.
Just keep in mind not everybody can be a winner everytime. Make them work for it make them work for it hard

Now that is true. But then again, you do not need a large group of players with a lot of stamina to dominate against those that have just 500-2000 stamina. It will be very interesting to see how that will be solved.
This gives EOC players a chance to burn their stamina while waiting which in one way is good, but the counter effect is that the smaller players (with less max stam) won't bother. And that would be the big loss in this whole system.
It are the new players you need to tie to the game.

bingo..having event tied to stam will just chase off most all of any new players we get..very very very bad for the game..big stam banks are not thinking of everyone..just themselves..

I consider this being a great idea being done for the wrong reasons as such in six months I doubt it will rate a mention.
Hcs Does not have coders to do regular updates on their games.Grim is flat out maintaining the ufsg content and ticket system let alone storybook quests Zorgrom Shroud event etc etc missing content quests further set and game management...Who is going to develop and Maintain these daily quests / Events? Or is it to be generic rotating randomly?
And if you needed any further evidence of this just look at this closed thread.

maintaining eoc players is just as important as maintaining new players
daily quests maintain new and old players
daily events would maintain older players
daily quests easy rewards for easy tasks
daily events great rewards for hard tasks and big comittment and investment
i'd rather have the small stam bank players not participate in the events so they can upgrade and build up their character so that they can effectively participate in the events rather than rushing them into events where they stand no chance

Cap the stam allowed to be used on specific daily events. The results need to be based on IF you attain x amount of y, not who gains the most. The goal is daily activity by participating.
