Apologies about any confusion with the weeks notice, in hindsight it would probably have been better 7 days before  :(

What we can do however is make the event 72 hours instead of 48 :)

That would be fantastic and really help out with stam resource stress. Many of us would very much appreciate this gesture. Thank you!

I agree and I have no idea why the event was extended it is pretty easy to plan to hunt in a 48 hour window, I have and I am away all weekend working and watching that small thing called the FIFA World Cup.

No need to get announcement guys because its known they release 2x xp event every year in June... Just learn from the past ;)

Newer players might not have  history/ knowledge to draw from tho Shin, tho I get what you mean.

Dav, I find trying to time a long-ass xp hunt fairly difficult, with RL stuff etc, and I'm sure others do too. Just because you find it easy to jiggle time, don't think its just as easy for others. As Kath? pointed out, its fathers day that weekend as well for some. Everyone has different RL circumstances, and an extra 24 hrs makes all the difference. It hurts no-one.

It is Fathers day her also but that is not a public holiday or anything like that, it is a made up day created by Hallmark to sell more cards, it is just capitalism hard at work.

Surely due to the double XP event the hunt should in fact last the same period of time, you'll just go up more levels in the same time frame, I guess it may take a little longer walking to more realms but that is what the planing is all about, my tips are below to help with this:

I write all my plans down on a piece of paper so i know which realms to go to and whether the critters have specialist stats and I do it way in advance. I also group the potions I will be using together in a separate backpack slot so they are easily viewable and so I can check that I have not missed one by accident. In terms of gear, well I used to have a link to the hunting setups on one tab and make a note when I needed to change any items and in order to ensure I had the relevant gear available, if i did not personally own it, I would ask around my guild in advance when people in my range would be hunting so we could coordinate times so we did not clash, however lately I have been lucky enough to have my own gear so this is less of a personal problem.

A good tip is to analyse the upcoming quests as some you maybe able to complete whilst hunting naturally, others you may wish to start them thus making it quicker to go back and complete these quests later on when you do not have so many expensive/time critical potions running such as doubler.

Planning is the hardest part of any hunt but generally there are plenty of folk in the game at your level or above it who you can ask for help on certain areas, just don't leave it to the last minute.

I think you missed my point/s.
Regardless of your thoughts on what Fathers day represents, many people actually DO celebrate with their families; thus relating to my time restraint comment. On that note, weekends also can be very family/ friend orientated. Making it an extra 24 hrs on the Fathers day weekend  ( to me) seems like a stroke of luck for many.

My xp hunts  take longer; with huge LF/CONS pots, it takes me ages to get thru my stam.

Thanks for the tips; most I do anyway... tho I find most quests not worth doing during an XP event, especially the " kill 50 x" ? inventing ones. I activate  the quests, and go back later... again adding to the time of the hunt.

Maybe post those tips in the Noob section?

Fathers' Day in Texas means an excuse for family BBQs.

Oh I celebrate Father's day, i leave my father alone to do what he wants, which is generally go hill walking in Scotland. I did not miss your points at all in fact. It is no different a weekend than any other in the year, you make choices on how to spend your time,  I agree spending time with family and friends is far more valuable than sitting on a computer game, however that is a choice one has to make in life.

Cyrus, you need an excuse for a BBQ? :P

I love history ...

"On July 5, 1908, a West Virginia church sponsored the nation’s first event explicitly in honor of fathers, a Sunday sermon in memory of the 362 men who had died in the previous December’s explosions at the Fairmont Coal Company mines in Monongah, but it was a one-time commemoration and not an annual holiday. The next year, a Spokane,Washington woman named Sonora Smart Dodd, one of six children raised by a widower, tried to establish an official equivalent to Mother’s Day for male parents. She went to local churches, the YMCA, shopkeepers and government officials to drum up support for her idea, and she was successful: Washington State celebrated the nation’s first statewide Father’s Day on July 19, 1910. Slowly, the holiday spread."  (Historically Ms. Dodd is considered the Founder of Father's Day due to her diligent promotion of the day on a national level).

Hallmark was founded in 1910.

I find no evidence that Hallmark started as such a powerful company that they were able to initiate Father's Day in the very year they were founded.  As I recall it wasn't until the late 1990's that Hallmark acquired a Britain card company and began distribution there, but seems Father's Day had gained some ground in the UK as early as the 70's.  Since the UK's roots aren't as deep as they are here in the US it may be that it is simply seen as a day to send a card and not much else -- I don't know.

I know that here in the US many of us do have large family gatherings.  My Dad's side of the family gathers every other year, so next year there will again be 5 (well by then 6) generations all together for a weekend - 120+ people some camping, some at an adjacent luxury hotel.  I'm blessed to still have my Dad alive and he enjoys spending time with me, and I with him.  My Dad may be an tough Ex-Marine who survived some of the most horrific fighting in the S. Pacific in WWII and then in the Chosin Valley in Korea, but I know that despite us talking every few days on the phone and going to visit him several times a month that he was a bit sad the one year I was traveling and not able to spend Father's Day with him, but of course we're both positive people who like to laugh a lot so we have fun when we talk and spend time together :)

What an awesome weekend!  Double XP!  I am going to marinate some Rib Eyes, grill and have a feast this weekend.  It is clear.  With my big gut stuffed, I will relax downstairs in my cave, secluded away from my wonderful wife and children.  My phone turned to silent, totally void of all distractions - I will hunt.  "Hunt"?  No.  I will slaughter!  My bloodlust will grow with each kill!  Damn the grill!  Bring me RAW steak! Let me gut and feast off the muscle of the bovine while the carcasses are still warm!  Blood is vitality - let me live forever!  COWS run!  HCS hide!  ... Bring on a multitude of new content! So many new realms that the COWS may run away to in a failed attempt to escape my unsatiable hunger and thirst!  25 more levels!  50 more levels!  May the unveiling of new realms stretch as I conquer onward!  ... or regardless ... if in case new lands do not emanate ... gotta love steak!

Thats the way to offer a "deal."   If you offer an fsp deal, it must be around an event, or release of new creatures, or gear for us to spend fsp on.. Putting out the offer with an event is great...

Next deal...maybe some new recipies across many level? (or a cave creature or 2)
