What if there already is a couple secret moderators out there that have the function to delete threads? Then if the Cows tell us they wouldn't be a secret anymore.. And if they say "No, there won't be any new appointed secret mods" then they must be trying to make us believe there won't be any when there actually already is a couple of them lingering around....

If it's removed promptly -- great, but we'll live.

HCS does an excellent job moderating the forums and it should remain a HCS function. 

Players being allowed to extort their own personal will and judgement to disallow other players from bumping threads they  feel are important is a sure fire way to alienate more players and send them permanently to other games. HCS is fully capable of handling that aspect of the forums and let's leave that with them.

The subject here is SPAM that had nothing to do with the game and was trying to sell a product, but realistically - how often does this happen? ... Rarely!  If it starts to happen more, then let's allow HCS to develop a plan to deal with it and reading this thread to me is proof - let HCS handle it in their time.
 

I made reference to possible HCS staff hour restrictions because U.S. laws regarding salaried-exempt employee hours and expectations versus that of the U.K.Salaried Employees differ.  Here in the US 80-120 work week for salaried-exempt staff and no vacation for a # of years is not uncommon: I know, I lived it for 20+ years as a health care administrator.  In the UK limiting folks to a 48 hour work week and mandating 4 weeks of vacation or lose your job is common.  They have options to opt out of the hours restriction or so I understand.  ...... Anyway - so I mentioned it merely out of respect to HCS' bottom line just because I always think in terms of risk and costs.

Costs are not always just fiscal, they are also sometimes employee satisfaction, as being tied checking always to see if there's a problem isn't a fun way to spend one day away from work.

Instead of Mod's - why not - just if a Thread or Post is Reported - it immediately is hidden until such time HCS staff can review it, and the reporting person must have a valid reason for the report or they go on suspension for some period of time as determined by HCS -- whether it's suspension from the game or from the forums - up to HCS.

This is easy and easy.

suspensions and bans in the forum do not transfer to the game and vice versa also this will only create more work for the cows in the long term.
