Ur first suggestion is already there. /whisper [playername] [message] without the brackets, and /r to quickly answer to someone.

I see. Thank you for the correction! I was kind of talking about chatting globally. You can only reply to someone if they are physically around you, correct?

hmm I dont quite understand what you mean. But as far as I understand, the world chat or the second chat tab is serverwide so you cant talk to anybody that is logged in the same server as you, so the first chat tab is yeah mainly for talking to people within a small range.

I did a /r <player> test a few minutes ago in chat and got a message that there was nobody to reply to. This was to a player who is in chat, but nowhere around me in the world.

To use the /r command you fist must recieve a whisper or a personal message from another player, if not you will recieve that message. In another case that you might recieve that message is if the player logs out or switches servers.

Note: the /r command does not require you to write the character name, its just to quickly reply to the last person that sent you a personal message.

Ah, okay. I see what you are saying. I guess what I would like would be a way to denote a player name inside chat.

For Example: (Not whispers, but public chat)

[World Chat]

Player A: Hello!

Player B: @Player A Hey!

Player C: How is everyone doing?

Player A: @Player B Did you get that thing I sent ya'?

I guess folks just use whisper a lot.

I see, yeah thats interesting I've seen that before, could be nice if they also change the color of those letters that way its easier to see in the world chat :). And well at least I do use whispers alot hehe.
