Honestly, I don't see any issues with the way the mines are right now. I never see "dozens" of players in the Othalo mine. The nodes respawn pretty quickly anyways.

There were 3 coal nodes around you and someone mined on one which made you rage in the world chat about how he "took" your nodes. Newsflash: The nodes do not belong to you.

You can simply switch to the oceanic server since its almost always empty and mine there for a bit, then jump back to your main server.

there are tons of other places where you can mine the same as you can find in the othalo mine, just explore a bit and dont expect everything to be handed to you.

This is true, but there is a thing called courtesy (read manners maketh man). If someone is mining a node and there are other nodes around them, it is plain rude to jump on the node they are mining and there's no reason at all to do it.

More important would be a plantation for forestry. Some enterprising NPC could set up a pinewood farm and charge entry. Would be rich!

The Nidaros mines need way more ores than they have right now.

If they had like 2x more ores than they do now they would be a miner's paradise. It needs more people in there anyways.

I would agree with this. Right now the river paths offer just as much mining as the Nidaros mine for the same walking distance. I don't even bother mining there except when the quests send me in.

From what I understand from reading the world chat, Klawful was getting pissy because someone was mining on the 3 coal nodes that he "claimed".  It's ironic since a player said in the world chat that Klawful told them "I don't see your name scratched on the ore" when they complained to him to stop mining on the same node as them.

The Othalo mine is an obvious tight cluster of resources, and is designed to be such for beginning players.

The respawn rates are high but somewhat random.  Only recently (late beta) was node groups introduced there at all.

What everybody needs to know is that there are many places in the world with tied node groups.  Tied node groups are pairs or triplets of nodes (relatively) near to each other where completely resourcing one will cause the other to respawn, and vice-versa.  (Some are next to each other, like in Othalo mine, but more commonly they are a short run apart.)  If you look for them, you will find them.  And then, when you need to grind a particular resource, you won't need to go anywhere else, just back and forth between these 2 or 3 nodes until your bags are full, or you get tired of clicking.

Because the respawn rate is very fast in Othalo, it's a bit hard to tell for sure, but I think I have counted 3 groups of 3 tied copper nodes, that one really fast cluster of 3 coal nodes (you really only need 2 of the three to be completely busy), and a quad grouping of crystals in the same inner room as the coal group.  Everything else seems more random, requiring you to run around a bit.

Nidaros mine (low-level area) has some random nodes, and one pair of crystal nodes, and a pair (or triplet, I am having trouble remembering) of copper nodes in the main room where the Rockfoot guy is.

Greenreef Isle is chock-full of tied groupings of all sorts (including groups of spawning deer).  Best place for mid-game resourcing, and except for the Northern end (and a few other places) is completely safe.  (The music on Greenreef Isle, which accurately reflects the level of danger you are in, will put you to sleep...)

But there are many more obscure places.  One place I found was in the rolling hills to the southwest of the farm to the south of Eldevin City.  There is a tied pair of Pynwood trees there, one in a valley, and the other on the top of an adjacent hill a little further south.  The key is that you must move next to the tree stump (after finishing off the other tree) to get the next tree to respawn quickly.   I have resourced many hundreds of logs there with hardly a pause.

UPDATE:  Well, I just checked on it, and it looks like the trees down there were changed from Pynwood to Lithistle.   But they are in the same place, and I bet they are still a pair.   I will need to confirm this when I get my Forestry up high enough.
