This dynamic exists at every level then, I guess. I lose in-game currency with every item that I create and then vendor (after all, there is no other use for crafted items, especially since you have to make so many extras to level your profession).
As a beginner, I'm spending 10 coppers (or is it bronze?) for crafting components for every bar that smelt, board that I treat, jewel that I polish, etc. Then I need several of those processed materials to craft a single item, in addition to the 10 copper vendor component that is required in the final crafting process. So what do I get after spending 60+ copper just on vendor components, on the item that I vendor? 12 copper.
So not even accounting for all the raw materials that I gathered, I lose at least 48-58 copper on every basic item that I craft. And I need to do repeat this copper-losing process dozens of times even while I am still in the single digit crafting levels, and for multiple crafting skills!
This doesn't work for me. This is a great game, but as a crafter, I'm not going to get on a treadmill like this.
