I love my epics more than the next and its great to see some higher levels come into the game (through GvG). However, I feel it has really created a huge decline in the titan market. Great for GvG'ers and guilds who can successfully compete in GvG's along with the ladder market but titan epics are already at the lowest we have seen (mostly from titan doubler not really being doubler. x4 is really excessive imo and I think it should be 1:2 not 1:4 regardless of level). So I thought about how can we bring some of our most beloved epics back into being viable again and came up with the following:

Create a new titan that is some big disfigured blacksmith.

The titan does not drop an epic. They drop a component to create new epics from what we already have available in the titan epic pool. There are a possible 9 component drops of which each 51% kill or TKP can obtain just one random drop. One for each of the item slots.

With this item say for example the BDB (big disfigured blacksmith) drops a solid iron ring. This iron ring can be used in a recipe as a resource or item to weld with a lestus ring. Currently, its stats stand at +1 stam gain and +2 xp gain with around +25 stam. Once welded with the BDB item, it could say become +2 stam gain +3 stam gain and +50 overall stam. it is not necessarly doubling what is already there but adding a set amount to the item to just enhance it further to continue making it viable.

The BDB item can have stats on it maybe like +1 +1 just for something or more like the blank shield. I just thought maybe its a way to bring back in those items that were once so viable and now almost useless. Yes lower level players have access to them at more affordable prices but they sold at a loss to hunters and those who are paying big prices for them.

There is still the "problem" with Titan Doubler speeding up the drops of this new component. We'd have a bunch of those flying around and added to Epics and I do not foresee prices for the old Epics going up much with this added component onto them.

The only way I see Epics getting back some of their older values is to reduce the supply of them in the game.

And by raising the use of then, maybe recipes.

i like the idea, but i think there has to be some way to make sure less epics are getting from these titans, or we have a way or using the epics in a new way (like the recipe idea)

Increasing demand is even better, and the best (only?) way to do that would be to increase the player base. This is almost universally accepted as a good idea, it's just convincing all of those would-be new players to get into the game!

Demand is so low and the Supply is so huge, so what can we expect >>>>> Solution : Cut-off the source and or reduce it, then enhancing the standing epics to a bigger scope as what evilTrace is trying to explained :)

So: reduce supply, send the price up so that fewer people can afford it and demand goes even lower and you need to make supply even smaller ...

Indeed, it could be even worse as existing players who have been saving up to get some of those epics now see them disappearing into the realms of the unachievable and give up on everything.

It seems to me that most economic principles rely on having a large turnover to be stable, and any attempts to control the market (including stabilising it at a 'desirable' state) are doomed without a large customer and either a growing customer base or a defined and shortish lifetime for the product.

(Edit: added strikethrough --- a bit of copy-editing I should have done weeks ago)

For what I am suggesting, the old epics will still be available. The new epics will be craftable. The reason they will be kept low is that the possibility of 1 of 9 drops will keep a flood of them in the game. Who is to say that you will get the ring drop or the helm...it is random of course! Will add spice.

Yes I think the titans should spawn less often, however then I feel that the system for hunting them should change. Maybe a titan goes on cooldown not for a set period of time, rather a set number of spawns.

Example:

You hunt and secure a titan and put it on cooldown.

You then have to wait two spawns before you are able to hunt it again as a guild.

I just thought it would be a fun way to revamp old items. As for the price of them...they are easy to hunt now and shouldn't 'cost' people much at all. Deepwater can take 20-30 mins for 1800 odd kills with titan doubler...that makes like 450 hits on it. Many people would do that hunting.

Please note..the deepwater is a simple example. I know many others take a lot more effort etc to hunt.

leave titan hunting, prices droping but still titans getting hunted

I liking seeing new players starting titan hunting, they not have titan medal or only having bronze medal, they want hunting their epics too

where is problem if prices of epics dropping, all prices dropping after time, I seeing all titans fast getting secured and killed, they are enough players wanting titan hunting and that is good

when prices starting droping scripters stopping titan hunting and players who not using scripts having fair chance titan hunting, that is good

HCS removing 1 scripter and I hoping they removing other scripters soon too, scripters having no place in fallen sword game, they need removing for good of game, players who knowing scripters and joining scripters guild no better and disgrace on them

I having not seen this 1 scripter titan hunting in long time, that is good because new and more players starting titan hunting, they knowing they having fair chance

thank you very much HCS (hoofmaster, biggrim, zorg, radneto and all other HCS staff) for excelent work I seeing you doing on game, I seeing updates, improvements, admins having more communication with community

When the game goes mobile, and if the pricing structure is adjusted to be competitive with other mobile games (microtransactions/money goes further), this will become less of a problem. Particularly with the bulk of epics being for lower levels....

I'd actually advise people to consider what FS, a legitimate multiplayer online game going mobile would mean for demand of items, particularly the epics/LE gear. There isn't a genuine competitor for a game like FS being a mobile game out there. This is partly why I'd been shouting about making FS mobile for about two years, (before RL took me away). FS has a lot of potential for a massive growth of it's user base when it goes mobile. I'm intnding on slowly acquiring a lot of mid-range (200-800) level epics in the upcoming months to account for that. My guild is more than set on the gear question.

To be blunt, now is the ideal window to stock up on lower-mid range epics as they are the lowest they will ever be. Don't expect them to stay this low when the game goes mobile and a completely new wave of people, with money not put into the game yet can mean for impact on the market of this game. I'd actually say, that given how unenthusiastic people have become on titan hunting the past couple years, might only cause there to NOT be enough supply to meet that demand when it finally goes mobile.

EDIT: I'd just like to say, while I'd agree with this otherwise, the lack of taking note that FS is closing in on being mobile and one of the few mobile MMOs in the world, this could actually be a BAD thing for the game by crippling supply, when there is an impending increase in demand incoming down the road.

Are you active? Enjoy playing FS for fun and striving for lofty goals? Looking to join a guild that invests in itself and seeks to improve and grow in all aspects of the game?

Secret Alliance can be your home in FS! We are looking for active, motivated and driven players who have a passion and genuine enjoyment of FS to join us as we continue to rise towards the TOP! If interested feel free to send me a PM.

SA is also looking for one or two guild mergers INTO SA. Feel free to ask for details.

That's what I was trying to point out (not putting mobile into my message). It's a matter of supply and demand. The current issue is there is more supply then demand, so the price will drop until there is an equilibrium. Once demand (hopefully generated by new players coming into the game), increases, supply will start to decrease and price will go up to a new equilibrium point.

At some point though, prices will start to fall again unless the constant flow of new players continues, as long as new epics aren't released that overpower the current (look at Colossus and Skaldir). Those are moves that would cripple demand for those epics, as there are better ones out there.
