Eldevin Walking Tour quest not updating

Im on part 14 of 15 in this quest which is visit the city bank.  Howevever I'm in the bank and have exited and returned several times yet it still won't update that I have done that part


Unable to mine Crystals

In the Crystal Cutting quest I'm asked to gather amethyst yet when I try and gather it from the crystal nodes it says I need a pickaxe.  The quest giver didnt give me one though
