i see this in a totally different way especially when it come to gear being damaged by gvgs ..... most gvgs tend to target players offline - sometimes where they have been off for a day or 2

 

 my point has 2 issues to point out ---- players gear gets busted up by no choice of their own ----- so should the players have to pay for it to be repaired ? //// its not like the guild could recall all their gear and repair it (leaving them naked ((( hmm no easy target there =P)

 

#2 its the guild gear so it should be an option if the guild decides to cover it ------- i do believe though that the ability should only apply to the store and to players that are in the 7 day active time frame (maybe even limiting the ability to repair gear only 1ce in a 24 hr period )

i would like to see it implemented whether it be just store gear or an option for all gear (via permission is a must though) i dont see why some are complaining about not being able to do worn gear (i know its gvg based issue but we are allowed to buff players offline -why not repair gear too ? )

i think that at the very least hcs could make the chest icon pop - as it is its dull and not extremely noticeble - maybe make it bright red or something like how se's are purple

on a side note -u have the notice of 'you can only move 1 square at a time' (something like that) i dont see the point of this popping up more than once if at all -im wondering if this encourages the rubber banding effect   --- we let our players keep epics if they solo secure but also they get payed for tkp+bonus tkp --- but each guild is different in their rules hahahaha

i would love to see the 2nd option done / nothing worse than trying to click kill icon on titan and going to either send a message or to players profile - wastes very valuable seconds getting back to titan

@chewy yeah i could see that being entertaining but in the end the result is the same / on the bb u know what is coming /// i have never heard of a pvp'r messaging someone and saying im gonna hit u in 30 mins so buff up - its almost always a ambush hit

pvp is 'not bad' but its actions of pvp'rs ruthlessness of how pvp is done that has made 'pvp' bad 

 

It Has Been Stated Over and Over by both Players and by HCS Staff that there is several forms of pvp 

PvP = Player vs Player -----it Is Not Limited to and only to----Player A hits Player B and the loser loses xp and gold 

 

Arena is considered pvp --- it we really wanted to stretch it -the ah can sometimes be PvP in bidding wars

what incentives could a pvp global give that cant be gotten from other globals ? it would have to be something so over-powered to offset any loss taken And make players want to participate in something they dont like or despise?

 

i am no saint when it comes to pvp -i have done(Do) PvP / BB / Ladder / Seasons (and got the medals to prove it - my smasher medal is 100% ladder earned)- but there is way too many players in FS that want nothing to do with anything pvp    related 

More or less all the globals are pillow fights against low lvl monsters ( no risk involved ) 

 

For a PvP global of any sort it will probably have to be a 'pillow fight' too or just a small amount of players will even bother to trying it 

 

one thing that has not been brought up - is the players and how it will effect them 

 even with it only being say 10 stam hits or even a 'reduced' xp loss - we are talking about players being hit 100x or more during the event

 so even ignoring the massive pages of logs when players log in each day there is no telling how many lvls players will lose each day

 

Any hope of getting non-pvprs into pvp will be history as well as possible future events of this type - the only way i see any kind of xp loss working is a special opt in to be included in a xp loss based catagory maybe with a different set of rewards 

 

PvP is already Disliked by a lot of players - We Do Not Want That to Increase in Number - Possibly Pushing More Players to Quit Playing Altogether

i am going to try and put this into perspective as  possible outcome scenarios if seasons was done with standard pvp rules included 

 

(scenario 1) seasons with same Exact Rules as pvp --- Players can only hit others within a + or - 10 lvls ------ wait a second -we have that its called pvp  

 

(scenario 2) seasons with same Exact Rules as pvp --- Players can only hit others within a larger bracket  ---- wait a second -we have that too -its called the Ladder 

 

(scenario 3) seasons with same Exact Rules as pvp ---- Players can hit Any Lvl Player ----- Sounds a bit like doing Bounties 

 

the point i am trying to make here is hcs is trying to make something NEW - so its pointless to say this Must be like something else

 

players are not scared of losing xp they just Dont like it (yes pvp is part of the game and cannot be escaped -accepted)  

 

there is some saying that any version of a risk free-seasons will water down pvp  or give players a false impression of pvp -- there is probably only a very small amount of players that have Never been pvp'd 

 

Pvp is pretty well covered by standard pvp ,the ladder,and the bounty board 

 

Globals are pretty risk free events so why make this New type of Global be any different ? its about global participation to achieve a goal and to be 'fun' for all

several people HAVE put out ideas but the second its out there - players start jumping all over it stomping their feet and saying that is not pvp - pvp can Not be risk free -we will not allow it !!!! or this will ruin pvp !!!! 

 

 

its an age old battle between the lvlers and the pvprs 

 

neither wants the other to come play in their yard so to speak 

 

as a event u would think it would be  neutral territory and not bound by either sides rules 

 

events in general step outside the 'normal' rules -thats why its an Event =)

 

here are example >>>> seasonal titans - they are not normal titans nor do they have the sames rules as regular titans 

 

global frag events >>> low lvl mobs we gotta kill tons of that give mini frag stashes 

 

holiday events >>> all kinds of special stuff out 

 

Here is the long and short of it - it must be something out and away from the "PvP' of Fs  to entice non-pvp players to get into it --------- to me it seems like its real simple - if the pvprs dont agree with the nerfed pvp rules for a "EVENT' then they can opt out 

 

in a way thats kind of funny - pvprs opting out of  pvp   ;)

i was in the last 'seasons' event and do to a glitch some players lost incredible amounts of xp - that caused an outcry 

next problem after that was fixed was the bounty /auto bounty system -it was flawed - causing an outcry 

next was player having to battle players 100's to thousands of lvls above them this caused another outcry and finally was the 'random' selection of players which wasnt very random as same players became repeat targets over and over again 

 

all these things drove players away in large numbers - with global events of any kind if the majority of FS doesnt get involved then the global does poorly 

 

i understand pvp and how it works And how it can (and does) get abused to Overly 'Punish' players 

 

now for any global to work well and players to spend their time and stamina they must feel they are getting something for their effort 

Now the majority of fs players are levelers with a minority of pvp'rs 

so for this type of global to succeed it will have to involve the majority of all players

One thing everyone should keep in mind is this kind of Event is labeled PvP it is NOT meant to be like Normal Pvp -so 'Normal' pvp rules do not have to be Applied (like XP Loss) 

 

1st thing is Lvl Brackets of some sort must be in place (a lvl 50 player should never be pitted against a lvl 2000)

2nd there should be an option in preferences to ignore the event log attacks ( nobody wants to log in and see a ton of attack messages)

3rd we need a 'test run' to find and fix flaws before it becomes a 'live' event

 

was thinking  about the search and find target idea posted earlier - maybe open a realm like they do for other holiday events - each world area is lvl bound -example = world area 1 = lvl 50 -250 / area 2 = 251-500 etc

players must run around and find target - players can Only enter the world area assigned by their lvl

 

Players can only repeat hit the same player by a set time limit like 15 or 30 mins (prevents sitting and farming a player) - Any Leaving of world area during event resets player back at -0- (this is so players cant do hits then go 'hide' ) this will let players try it out and decide if its something they like or not

 

I am not sure on what to do about players that will wait till last min to race to top 

 

for players that dont want to participate they just dont go to the area

 

this is just some thoughts i had
