Sub Classes?? ( please read Mod's)

Hello, been playing Eldevin about a month now... Love the game, and what you guys have done with it... i can't wait to see what future months/years bring to the game.
 
One thing that i know would take ALOT of overhauling, but i think would increase the gameplay ALOT and maybe even make people that are max combat level, turn around and make a new char... is.... SUBCLASSES!! wub.png ohmy.png ohmy.png biggrin.png biggrin.png 

(now i know that you guys kinda work all of this stuff into each class, but separating each of them with their own skill tree would be awesome, and even make PvP more interersting  IMO.)

 

(All of these sub class trees would need a lot more spells and characteristics added to them, this is just a quick thing im writing)
 
 
Examples:
 
Mages: 

  • Lighting Mage - skill tree of all lighting spells, High DPS for single target attacks, 

  • Fire Mage- skill tree of all fire spells, Splash DPS ( multiple mobs ) with alot of DPS over time spells.

  • Ice Mage- skill tree of all ice spells, Splash DPS ( multiple mobs ) with a lot of slow over time spells, and snare spells.

  • Healer- needs alot added to them IMO. spells that can release a snared individual or groups of individuals, shield spells for melee , ranged, spell attacks, plus other add-on's

 

 

Rangers:

  • Single Target Ranger- would have alot of high DPS spells targeting a single character 

 

  • Multi Target Ranger-  would have alot of average DPS spells targeting multiple characters

 

 

​Assassin's  

  • same thing as rangers maybe? have a single target and a multi target skill tree? The Character i play now is a mage, but ive looked at all the skill tree's / talent tree's, and i think assassins have a decent tree.

 

Melee:

  • Prophet: Should have a lot more party buff's, and personal buff's, should have return DPS spells, and some basic healing spells etc

 

  • ​Warrior:  The main tanking char. High health, stun spells, and taunt spells etc.

 

 

 

Like i said i just threw this togeather really fast within like 10 minutes... anyone that would want to add on / criticize what i have wrote feel free.. i just think it would be awesome to have more subclasses!! anyone agree??

Hmm... The thing about Eldevin is that it's really free on what you spend your points in, and you can make your own little sub class without needing to chose from one. I personally like it the way it is, as I've seen this system on other MMORPGs and don't particularly like it..

Now game require much characters to create:

* CRAFTER (all gatherings and craftings on 49 lvl)

* PVP (for single target and short fight without cooldown reduces and mana regeneration increases)

* DPS (multiple targets and long fight with cooldown reduces and mana regeneration increases)

* TANK (if no TANKs for dungeons)

* HEALER (if no HEALERs for dungeons)

 

Or you doomed. :(

The multi target classes would have to be balanced though, so that they would stand a chance.. like i said it would require a huge overhaul, just a suggestion  :rolleyes:

When you reach 49 level you will see more clearer what i mean. :D

 

But more advertisement can change this. :)

Just BETA players can kill it with insane stats in TA. No chances to kill any BETA player in TA, need to much time. :(

I prefer to keep classes as it is.

I can imagine though that with each sphere, it could influence our spell type like nature, dark, water, light etc. So more talent/spell diversity I could see down the road.

When you reach 49 level you will see more clearer what i mean. :D

The join date of a player doesn't always mean a player is better. Some play for other reasons then to do pvp or pve/pvm all the time. I joined because of professions/story line. :D And there are some who play at their own pace like me. Nearly 2 years of playing and not level 49 yet.

When I started playing I wanted to be a prophtank Paladin...you know, a tank with hefty healing abilities, monsterous shield and a gigantic hammer (still working on those two lol)...so I did :lol: As simple as that, and it even kinda works ^^

 

I think that with a little bit of experimentation you can create some real freaks of nature with the system implemented currently, so adding up to it with sublasses is unnecessary imho. Too bad the respecs have such a long cooldown/are expensive, otherwise I'm sure a lot of people would go nuts with trying out interesting/funny new builds as silly as a Hawkeye tank, assassin healer or even a ninja tank Gandalf...um...so if anything I would change that. :ph34r:

 

And I still want Taunt to work on players, HCS pls :D

Got to agree with RS and spirit. I've been here since day 1 of beta, and am definitely still a bunny in TA if you don't scare me off first.

 

For some it is play preferences, for others it is RL commitments ... I've hardly ever done dungeon runs. That is not because I don't want to, but because for most of the day I can get called away at no notice by my kids, and that doesn't seem fair on the team. (And when I do find an hour that won't get interrupted, it all too ofter proved too little time to find a team - often because everyone else is off doing world boss runs or some such.)

I ment like an example of a GOOD combination  that you know of, that works well.. sorry shoulda been more specific..  subclasses would still be nice though because when you mix your talent poitns between two classes, you dont get all the benefits someone who uses all their talents in one tree would get.. ya kno?

Most hybrids are just a few points in another tree, such as the ranger with Dual-Wield Mastery, or prophet with Mental Agility.  But some true hybrids are possible.

 

In the right hands the healtank is extremely effective.  The warsin is another proven hybrid.  I don't know if this is still true, but apparently the prophmage ruled PvP.  Someone recently posted a tanksin build that looked very interesting.  (How did it actually go?  Update?)  And probably others I'm not thinking of at the moment.

 

Back to the original topic.

 

While talent subclasses sound interesting, that would involve a game redesign.  Eldevin is just not set up for that level of specialization, with characters requiring solo, group instances (that have both AOE and single targets), and PvP.  Especially with only a single talent spec.  Speaking of PvP, that would probably have to be completely rewritten.  I'm sure there are easier ways deal with the current criticisms.

 

On the other hand, subclasses is worth considering for end game.  If we can get the population for 10 or 25 player raids, perhaps players could earn 'raid points', specialized talents along the lines of your suggestion, useful in more difficult raids.  If the talents are only allowed during a raid they would not add to the difficulty of balancing the current game.

You can get the end of tree talent WAY before you get to the end of content, so hybrid classes become much more viable in later levels

spend 3 or so hr asking world chat most days, After that Mostly do TA Dailys get Valor for Glems upgrade them slow painfull pross of gem upgrade most gem come from, Do few proeftion dailys averge 100 arti spoitn per day.

 

Over all Very active, Most time main player based about log off time log in or done for day no longer wont run any more DGN.

 

ABS - supream - raid - sell most gems right now holding asmarket crashed no one realy buying gems.

As far as frogs gems go took them for other 2 toons.

 

 

Keeping on topic,

 

sub class have there own place but curent dev team dosen't have time or reasourse emplent this idea, AH - Account rewards - lvl 50 Content - more ascedend DGN - Hair cuting shop - lvl 50 DGN's x3 - Avertising player retention - sever stablitie - Many other sub function work out.

 

Class Tree blance on going - hybered class limited with few class tree's some limited do to Armor restiction make soem hybered option less viable then others miximaze points

 

Pro/Mage - Hybered PVE/PvP Master

War/Sin - Verys what spec going to high as Shock truma - simple going for for VP Visus poin max LC - 10% dmg bost, add bleed dmg maxed.

war/temp - dmg reduction war less effective then War/sin

War/temp/sin - dmg reduction - Max LC perty blance build less effective then War/sin build spec.

Sin/War Max dmg/doge sin - Few other spec possible

templar/war - most get heavy armor increase added few more points get 8% haste murader very nice build. love haste.

Heal tank Templar/Prophet true hybered class Mostly using healing skills vs mele.

Range/Tank - Gear Range 1-h + shield - Spec templar - range skills Very intersting build limited use to boss fights.

range/sin mostly for increase in dmg - ranger probly have least amount of hybered options.

War/mage - 2-h mele using staff and ess hybered DPS/heals more so PvP Build spec then PvE.

range/prop  Build spec for Soothsaying - dmg reduction small healing bost gains. PvP

Mage/pro - DPS - self healing increase.

Mage another class limited on hybered option other then profit tree.

Like ranger limited on specs - range/tank - Range/sin - range sin if can mage swap skill from duel to Range better Limited means master as Auto attack skill - hot keys need be set up alow swap bettwen Range Stack bleeds major issue of OOM out of mana mange Range/sin.

the thing is that, u can put ur talent points wherever u want. my pvp character is a prophet ranger ( have some prophet talents and ranger talents. my dps pve is warsin ( warrior talents with assassin talents but mainly a warrior).
