We got all of that in the Delta 2 merge except the translator issue.  That's a new feature.  :)  You will soon find that the merge will result in more players leaving the game as there is really no place for smaller alliances or players.

 

Given that these merges seem to be in response to the hordes of players leaving the game I'm not sure how much longer HC will continue to support.  I guess as long as we have the pay to win players dumping in thousands they will keep it alive.

Another rerun, we've seen this episode, nothing to improve the game imbalances, everything to drive more money in HC's pockets.  I'm not saying they shouldn't make money, heck, I'd like them to make tons of money. 

 

I'd also like them to throw us a bone once in a while and do something about 100M+ power players attacking players well below their power level.  The developers have created the situation that encourages this and I think the problem is they don't know how to fix it without getting the big spenders all fired up.

 

I think the last update that did anything to help developing players was the bunker, and that just saves us from having to heal every unit after one of the bullies attacks....

Consistently taking 3 or more tries to login from my Android phone today. Generally shows the progress bar hitting the halfway point, then sits there until reconnect message is displayed.

I like the coordination, but it looks like the same alliance still controls the Mothership in both shots?

 

And things must be different in Bravo 1, you'd never be able to hold that much resource in Zeta 1 at 20M power.  :)

They should change their name from HuntedCow to CowFarmer seems all of their effort is to increase their ability to milk their players, not actually improve game play.  I have probably invested $300+ in the game, not counting the hours playing, but I haven't bought anything for months now.  I don't mind paying for entertainment, I'll drop hundreds at the casino in an hour or so, but this just feels like I'm really being manipulated.  

 

All you have to do is look at the events they post.  Defeat units, destroy facilities, tech research, gain power - all designed to require shards if you want to score well.

 

Then look at the "improvements" they make - very few aimed at improving game play for new/smaller players.  When we do get new players it really doesn't take long for them to figure out they have to invest heavily or spend their time with units in the med bay and their hero under constant threat of capture.  Who wants to slog away at that? 

 

But in the end HC is at the mercy of players that have invested thousands of dollars in the game.  They have set up a perverse dependency with the players that support them through heavy investment, but at the same time destroy the pleasure of playing the game for thousands of other players, this limiting their growth potential.

My alliance in Zeta1 is in second place for controlling territory and controls 50,000 sectors.  We're getting the same reward as the number 10 alliance that controls about 600 sectors?  Hardly seems commensurate with the level of effort between number 2 and number 10....

 

Since it takes so long to gain territory I don't expect much change over the week

I will reserve judgment, but I'm afraid the region merge will have the same success as the Mothership in terms of improving the game, in other words, none.

 

It seems to be that if they don't address the imbalances in the game then we'll just have more pay to win predators to deal with.

Nice to see that Steam users will finally be able to benefit from the shard reactor. But, it looks like the focus has been on getting Facebook Gameroom up rather than fixing the problems (like significant imbalance)  or addressing key user suggestions, but maybe Facebook will bring in more players to get stomped by the pay to win players and provide some distraction.  :)

 

 

Question regarding the region merge, will players in an alliance be merged into a common area? If not, will players at least receive teleports to facilitate alliance unification/coordination?

I think one way to help with the inbalance in the game would be to introduce an element of chance. Right now it's a straight mathematical exercise. If there was a chance for a defender or attacker to win despite the odds, it would make for a more interesting game.

P.S. I keep making suggestions but think it might be too late to really save the game.

Hard to believe any developers have actually played the game, given the severe imbalances and crappy enhancements like the Mothership.


In Zeta 1 some players had titan tanks that they said were given to them. When we complained, they were taken away by the admins. So if the developer player didn't give them, who did?

How about adding units back in as they are healed instead of waiting until all are healed? When I have 30 days of healing to do after getting hammered because of the imbalance, it really limits my ability and desire to play much while my units heal.

When recalling stationed units, it would be nice if you could specify where you want them recalled to.  If I reinforce from an outpost and then recall, I'd like to say whether those units go to the outpost they were stationed from, or back to my main facility.  Currently if I have provided units from an outpost next to an alliance member and later recall, the units return to my main facility, potentially hours away.

As expected, one alliance sits on the Mothership in Zeta1 and no other alliance will try to remove them. In Zeta1, the first alliance to control the Mothership lost it and indicated that the rewards were not worth the cost to fight for it.

Looks like in Zeta1 the Mothership is just a version of the useless silos....is it any different in the other regions?

The devs need to make money, and the paying customers should get some advantages, no doubt.

The problem is that there is no disincentive for big players to attack smaller players. You can pull significant resources from a smaller player with little to no risk. Attack a player the same size and you lose lots, so most players attack down, not up.

They need to implement a system that encourages players to attack within a certain range of their level or power. For instance, if a 100m power player attacks a 10m power player, their losses should be multiplied by a significant factor. It's ridiculous to spends minths building defenses and researching defense buffs to see a 100m player attack and onlu lose 75 titan tanks against your 150k commandos.

Since the mothership upgrade was a bust and we have bugs with captures that seem to go unresolved, I am wondering if HC is going to cut their losses.

For the past couple of days the special offers have been non existent. Maybe HC has stopped any major offers because they don't want to have refund lots of dollars? Or maybe they are just going to let the game die on its own.

wow, contesting for the Mothership is even more stupid than the silos and favors the overpowered players even more. They only have to contest for 9 spots, meaning a single player can control the Mothership.

You have accurately described one of the biggest failures of the game design here.  Once a player gets to a certain level, they are mostly untouchable, needing to worry only about the 200M+ power monsters.  Alliances do nothing to balance this.  A single player in the 30M power range can continually harass an alliance of over 300M and the alliance can really do nothing.  In fact, to the power players being in an alliance is something of a weakness since your smaller players can get punished for what you do.

 

And once you reach a certain size you stop gathering and just raid for resources.  This again limits the opportunity to damage large players in any meaningful way since they are not exposing their units on long gathering expeditions.

It's over in Zeta, SSR will have it without a doubt.  There is no way any other alliance can hold it given the game imbalances that have been noted, almost since day 1.

Oh, and because of the balance issue, the new Mothership update is dead on arrival.  The competition for it on Zeta is already over.
