#991796 Tiered Steamwork Cuirasses

Posted by Corrupted on 07 May 2018 - 14:41

I think it is completely fair for someone to be good at something in the game and make profit from it. You've had it with Inventors, Titan Hunters, Levelers (Buffs), Composers...

On topic, I think Egami makes a good point. The Steamwork just made a lot (most) of the Epic Armors significantly worse. +5 Stam gain at that level is pretty crazy, considering that Epic Armors with almost 4 times it's level requirement only have +3~.

The Tiered Epics are a welcome change, but I think the balancing needs to be taken more into consideration with these type of release, specially since we have more of these coming.

Yes. But then that builds speculation ;P

People knew the Steamwork was coming months in advance and farmed it out. Plenty of Tier 5s are out within a couple of hours. It's not necessarily bad, just feels more exciting to not expect something

#990696 Epic Quest Line - The Fallen Sword Cube

Posted by Corrupted on 11 March 2018 - 22:49

New NPC’s:

- Brother Khan, the Connector: Fuses the Fallen Sword Cubes
(Lore) Brother Khan is a very interesting individual. He keeps himself alive by using a few of his magic tricks. He creates some resourceful things, but his magic has a few catches: He can only craft things once a day. Such is the expense of his marvelous magic.

Location: Cathedral Catacombs (1,1)*

-
Brother Illiad, the Veteran Hunter: Task assigner for main quests
(Lore) A former hunter himself, Brother Illiad was a graced bounty hunter. Arrogant as he was in his day, he was an efficient assassin. One day, he suddenly stopped hunting, for reasons that nobody knows.

Location: Cathedral Catacombs (7,7)*

“Epic” Daily Quest Line - “The Cube”
First Questline: The Fallen Sword Cube (Required Level: 50)

Part I
Brother Khan starts off by telling you that he needs you to bring him a few things first:

1. Fallen Sword Cube Part 1
2. Fallen Sword Cube Part 2
3. Fallen Sword Cube Part 3
4. Fallen Sword Cube Part 4

If you are to bring him these items, he can fuse them and craft the Powerful Fallen Sword Cube, which can be used to create powerful items. He himself does not know where to find them, so he tells you to go see Brother Illiad instead.**

Part II
You go to Brother Illiad, and you tell him that Brother Khan sent you his way. He needs to craft a Fallen Sword Cube and that he may know where to find the pieces needed. He seems bothered by your presence, but chooses to cooperate. He tells you that he will give you the pieces himself, but that you have to prove yourself worthy first… which means killing stuff and coming back to him.

Part III
Reward: Fallen Sword Cube Part 1 x 1. Quest Item. Bound (Non-Tradable)

- Task

The way I see the tasks they could follow the same type as the regular Daily Quests.
1. Defeat X of X type of creatures
2. Defeat X amount of players in combat (GvG/PvP/Bounty)
3. Break down X amount of items
4. Join X Arenas
5. Travel X tiles
6. Kill X Super Elites

I feel that the quests should be
GREATLY reduced in the number requirement to keep them attainable and not too much time consuming. I also feel that the quests should be a choice of the player, but they cannot replay the same quest. Once you do one for any given part, you cannot do that specific type again until the Quest resets (Daily).

But SS, how does that work

If you decide to do #5, travel X tiles, for Part III, then your options for Part IV are: 1 2 3 4 and 6. By the time you’re done, there should be 2 types that you did not do.

Part IV
Reward: Fallen Sword Cube Part 2 x 1. Quest Item. Bound (Non-Tradable)
Task: Choice of Task

Part V
Reward: Fallen Sword Cube Part 3 x 1. Quest Item. Bound (Non-Tradable)
Task: Choice of Task

Part VI
Reward: Fallen Sword Cube Part 4 x 1. Quest Item. Bound (Non-Tradable)
Task: Choice of Task

Brother Illiad tells you that your job is done and to go meet Brother Khan again.

Part VII
Reward: Fallen Sword Cube (Hollow) x 1. Quest Item. Bound (Non-Tradable)
You meet Brother Khan. He is very happy that you brought all the pieces, and he trades you them for a Fallen Sword Cube (Hollow). He tells you that all that is needed is for me to add a special Core added inside before he can activate the cube. He tells you that a renowned jeweler may have it in stock (Sister Andreas Jeweler in Cathedral of Ways 2,3).

***For this part, you would need to buy a Powerless Fallen Sword Cube Recipe from Bother Giles Curious (Cathedral of Ways 1,4). The Recipe requires a Fallen Sword Cube (Hollow) x 1 and a Fallen Sword Cube Core x 1, which would be bought at a gold price from Sister Andreas Jeweler. Combine both to obtain a Powerless Fallen Sword Cube x 1 (Quest Item)(Bound)(Non-Tradable).

Part IX
Reward: Powerful Fallen Sword Cube x 1 (Tradable)
You bring the Powerless Fallen Sword Cube to Brother Khan, he does his magic and tada, you have yourself a Powerful Fallen Sword Cube.

This quest can be repeated every day. Should progress count towards Daily medal?

#979853 Shadow Bunny Assault!

Posted by Corrupted on 19 April 2017 - 19:02

I have a question about the rewards.

I noticed that this time around, the Extravagant Dark Choco Egg (Super Elite Potion), in the Extravagant Easter Basket (Ruby Tier reward), includes a new buff by the name of Dispel Curse, at a level 500.

As per buff description, Dispel Curse gives 0.2% chance per point that Dark Curse will not work against you. (PvP Only). If my math does not fail me, this mean that the buff has a 100% (0.2 * 500) chance of cancelling Dark Curse.

What does this mean for the Player vs Player combat? It means that your conventional** ways of defeating someone in straight up combat while they are in Defense gear drastically decreases.

To put this into perspective, I can make 36000~ Defense at level 1823 with just Shield Wall 175 and my Defense set on. Now if I were to use the mentioned potion's buffs (using ONLY Flinch 625 and Dispel Curse 500, not CoD 625 that comes with the chest), how much attack would someone need to beat my Defense with these simple buffs?

Flinch 625 * Zombie Brew ( Distil 150 = 1.15) = Flinch 719. Per Buff description, Flinch decreases the enemy's attack stat by 0.1% per point. At level 719, the effective attack stat decrease is 71.9%.

My Defense = Attack needed to equal my defense * % of Attack leftover after Flinch
36000 = Y * ( 100% - 71.9%)
36000 = Y * 28.9%

124,567 = Y

According to my scrappy calculations here, you would need a whooping 124,567 Attack just to match my Defense, before any Enhancements kick in. Now I don't know about you, but I cannot reach that Attack number without using substantially more buffs (more than the 2 I mentioned). That spells unbalance to me.

The Attack calculation I just made does not factor in any other buffs I could also use to increase my Defense/decrease their stat, such as: Constitution, Coordinated Defense, Defensive Aura, Fumble (if Defending), and many other stat boosters available in the game.

In my humble opinion, I believe the introduction of Dispel Curse at ANY high level (500 in this case) is not appropriate for the balance of Player vs Player combat where buffs are relevant. While I do understand that these rewards are limited and the buffs are restricted by time, no Chest/Potion, Donation-obtained or not, should give a player the power Dispel Curse at level 500 gives.

** = Non-luck ("2% rule") based combat

#979814 It's about time to balance out those overpowered pots in PvP.

Posted by Corrupted on 19 April 2017 - 00:49

Why is there a Dispel Curse 500 in the Easter Eggs?

0.2% chance per point that Dark Curse will not work against you. (PvP Only)

0.2 x 500 = 100% chance. So Dark Curse becomes worthless. Nobody ever thought of what this would do balance wise in PvP? Or is this actually intended?

#979455 YOUR Reasons for:

Posted by Corrupted on 13 April 2017 - 02:32

PLEASE if you post in this thread do not comment on anything someone else says. I am asking for YOUR thoughts and reasons only.

So, I have some questions if you feel like answering them please do so.

1. Why do you play FS? Fun? Challenge? Other?

2. A.When you play "your style" do you use buffs? Potions? A combo of the two?

    B. What level buffs/potions do you use?

3. If you use buffs or potions or a combo, why?

4. Do you use Global Chat? Why or why not?

5. What aspects of FS have you played?

6. Why did you choose to play these aspects of the game?

7. How often do you log on to FS?

8. How long have you been playing FS?

9. Are you in a guild? (I do not need specific guild names) If so, why?

10. What level were you when you first joined a guild? (If you are in one that is!)

1. I play for fun and sometimes the challenge of finding how to lose my Kill Streak to a Rat.

2. When I play "my style", aka the GAME style, I use any other buff or potion that would yield the best results. I try to avoid Composing potions since I am not high level myself and most times I don't need the extra kick 8)

3. I use a Combo of potions and castable buffs because they give me the best odds of achieving my goal (winning a combat vs a creature, a player)

4. Banned 8)

5. I have played every aspects, some for money, some for fun... Except Scavenging.

6. I choose to play depending on whether I need money (the Ladder/Bounty Board, 1234R0), sometimes for the fun.

7. I log in every day, multiple times a day.

8. Started playing 8 years ago, having a few breaks in between.

9. In a guild. Because everything is more fun when you do it with others, at least in the parts of the game I enjoy 8)

10. I was level 25.

#979296 It's about time to balance out those overpowered pots in PvP.

Posted by Corrupted on 08 April 2017 - 23:37

Says the gal who consistently beats me up...

She beats me up too mang, and she don't even need them potions :| ..

On topic though. I think the potions have surely killed much of the challenge that PvP used to bring (at least to me, I'm not that clever).

As others have mentioned, these potions really discourage any type of planning or strategic thinking. It's all bout who drinks them potions most times, at least in my experience. I do think diminishing returns would be a good way to adjust them too.

When do we say X buff at Y (high) level is too much? At this point not even the critters hold a chance against us, not even their CHAMPION versions present a challenge to the almighty power of Composed potions.

Lots of good suggestions in here. Hope this gets somewhere :)

#977346 New Arena Recipes!

Posted by Corrupted on 02 March 2017 - 18:36

Don't know if it is the right place to post this, but I'm gonna drop these here.

Some sets I thought would fit nicely would be:

Ammy/Boots 1300-1375 (Attack, Defense/Damage)
Boot/Ring or Ammy/Boot 1550-1650 (Defense/Damage)
Ring/Rune or Ammy/Glove 1700-1725 (Attack/Damage)

Just my 2 cents for future sets :)

I played every single minute of the Seasons. I didnt agree with the full design, but the core event itself was super fun.

I am here because we had something great then, something that we could keep with a few adjustments. I for one am excited to see what Hoof comes out with after the Holidays.

Let's put some nice rewards in the said event, keep the XP Loss and give the people an Opt Out.

If the rewards are nice enough, maybe XP Loss might not matter so much anymore
