Now, lately there's been a serious lack of active tanks. Most of the current tanks are either inactive or have respecced to another class. This means that we're unable to form world boss groups and participate in the event and it's also extremely hard to find Terenul Rosa runs. Over the last few days I've been able to squeeze in around 10 runs because people don't stay for long enough to do many.

Now, there are reasons for the lack of tanks. Being a tank is a huge responsibility and the repair rates are higher for tanks than any class since you're tanking a lot of damage. I know you can't specifically alter the repair rates for a certain role without having distinct classes in the game.

I would like to suggest that there are more beneficial factors that will encourage people to play as a tank, because the repair rates and high responsibility issues act as a big deterrent.

I know it's hard to enforce something on a particular role because of the open-class system, but i'm sure there's something that can be done.

If you have any suggestions, leave them below.

Characters:

Crusader - Assassin [Level 45] | Dusk - Mage [Level 1] | Hex - Ranger [Level 6]

Gathering Professions:

Crystal Cutting: 13 | Farming: 10 | Fishing: 10 | Foraging: 41 | Forestry: 19 | Prospecting: 40 | Skinning: 11

Crafting Professions:

Alchemy: 45 | Armoursmithing: 9 | Cooking: 11 | Jewelry: 6 | Leatherworking: 6 | Tailoring: 5 | Weaponsmithing: 2

High level tanks should merely request gold transfers from other players before the start of the encounter. (If we had guilds this would not even be an issue.) I suspect everyone up for a WB would kick in to fund the tank repairs.

The talents are so incredibly boring to use. I tried every class excecpt assassin and ranger, and I found Templars to be the most boring of them all. Furthermore, it's foolish to level as a Templar, so people generally respec at 40 from their DPS class, find it boring, and respec back once they have all of their Jungle Remnants. Also, one can't PvP anywhere near effectively with a Templar, so you are stuck with 1 role: farming remnants for other people. Snooze...

So, if something is not fun and takes longer to level, is it a surprise that people don't want to play them?

Templars should have the best DOTs in the game, not assassins, not rangers, not mages. Add some solo-ability and PvP with that and you would see more people play them.

Rather than demanding transactions to compensate for repair fees, the fees should stay the same, but have heavy armor take damage at a slower rate than medium or light.

the repair bills for tanks aren't that high these days, only if you die.

as comrad said and as i said many times the problem with tanks is how they play... they are BORING even people that generaly pick tanks in other games avoid them here.. i've offered several suggestions to help fix this and while i get lots of ppl clicking the like button on them i get no or few replies and it gets seemingly overlooked by staff :(

no longer playing so feel free to ignore more (if i even post) just do still follow forums so MAY comment from time to time.

An extra gem for tanks in LFG or something would help a bit. WOW has a system like that where tanks get a little something extra to try and get more of them around.
