#950376 Bad, missleading and wrong tooltips, talents, buffs etc.

Posted by Brioche on 03 October 2015 - 10:48

Some that were missed -

Templar:

Stouthearted - is supposed to increase defense bonuses from Heavy Armor by 2/4/6%, but affects the armor from shield too (which isn't Heavy Armor)

Revenge - Not all negative status effects proc this talent, but I can't recall which ones at the moment

Warrior:

Maelstrom and Two Right Feet - Maelstrom overrides all slows while it lasts. This is most noticeable in ICC.

Bane and Destruction - "Bane creates a wide cone of destruction striking down foes in your path."

Even when I'm standing 0.2 yard away from a mob while facing it and using Bane on a mob behind it, this still doesn't hit properly. After much testing, it seems that it hits in a wide ARC (curved line, not an area) which is very hard to aim since you need to be a fixed distance away from the enemy.

Assassin:

Watch Your Step - "Your Frozen Spires now slows targets by 5/10/15% and inflicts an additional 10/20/30% Melee DPS."

Frozen Spires deals two kinds of damage: instantaneous damage, and damage over time. Based on the description, one would think that it now deals additional 10/20/30% instantaneous Melee DPS, but this damage is actually added to the damage over time.

Blood Siphon - Skills aren't clearly defined as bleeds or not. Which skills are affected by this talent, exactly?

Prophet:

Righteous Indignation - Same as templar Revenge; not all negative status effects are cancelled or ignored with Repent active. Frozen Spires <Trapped>, Stun, Knockdown, Cower (SV snake and BT Lady Karis), Sleep (SV Wraith)

Besides these, there's also the incorrect ranges of skills listed in my other topic and the skills with two types of range that weren't mentioned in the description.

#937073 One or two more rows of abilities ?

Instead of using 'Z' to toggle between active bars, you could use [Shift] + 123 to set the active bar.

#936898 Remove cooldown pop up confirm for group summon

Posted by Brioche on 21 June 2015 - 16:26

Bumpity, please consider this.

Sometimes I find that I have to use group summon while in a dangerous zone or while in combat. Trying to cast group summon then having to go to Eldevin Market is time-consuming and also annoying because the Eldevin Market pop-up fills most of the screen so you can't see much.

When people have to reset group summon while in combat, they are more likely to be hasty and accidentally reset respec cooldown as well. I've had this happen to me once.

#935859 Help out Farming

Posted by Brioche on 17 June 2015 - 10:29

Farming is highly click-intensive compared to other gathering professions, mainly due to the constant need to prune. If you wait until disease appears before pruning a plot, you have 3% or 6% disease already. The only way to avoid disease is to constantly spam clicks on whichever plot you want to save.

If - instead of having to click multiple times to guard against disease - you could just click once to make your character standby for pruning duty on that plot, that would cut down on a lot of hassle in farming. Sort of like auto-foraging until a node is depleted, just that it's auto-pruning.

Instant smuggled guy! Those sneaky bastards are everywhere

#932963 You must be standing to perform this action.

Posted by Brioche on 18 May 2015 - 10:43

Just make the character go into standing mode before performing said action. It's a hassle to have to dismount / stand up from sitting position / whatever before trying to do the same action again.

There already are many actions you can perform while mounted:

- foraging

- opening doors

- eating food

just to give some examples. They automatically cause the character to dismount.

Some actions that can't be performed while mounted / performing an emote:

- using portal doors in Arcane Sanctum

- drinking potions

- maybe others that I may have missed

Why isn't it consistent? Just make the character dismount as well.

#926925 You can use /sit to skip scenes.

Posted by Brioche on 04 April 2015 - 02:45

Can we have an option to skip cutscenes in Vault or move the cutscenes to story mode? I don't think cutscenes belong in a dungeon that is done over and over - cutscenes should only appear the first time a player explores an area/quest.

#925608 Decrease drop rate, increase quantity of loot. Also, autogreed function pleas...

Posted by Brioche on 28 March 2015 - 02:53

All I have to say is that last night was the most intense clicking session of my life... And I have 5 more characters to repeat it with

For loot which is intended to be farmed in large quantities (candy canes, spooky treats, lovely chests...? and now infernal cores), may I suggest decreasing the drop rate to 10% or lower while increasing the drop quantities by the same factor?

Regarding autogreed - would it be possible to allow the leader to setup the group to automatically roll on loot as soon as it's picked up?

#918927 Lvl 45 heroic dagger drop from rumble No Gem slot.

Posted by Brioche on 11 February 2015 - 00:20

I believe Frog is talking about the Energized Striking Edge (heroic melee 1h). I've also never ever seen a slot or roll on it before, in all the months I've been playing.

Also, for the Seeker Dagger (heroic ranged 1h), I usually see it with either a gem slot or without a gem slot. On the rare occasion when it has a random roll, it always has a melee roll on it - melee haste, melee attack power, melee accuracy.

#918150 Turn durability icon red when equipment breaks

Posted by Brioche on 04 February 2015 - 14:12

At the bottom left area, there are tiny notification icons that inform the player about certain information, like

  • supporter options
  • attribute points to spend
  • talent points to spend
  • FREE Eldevin points
  • invite friends to play Eldevin
  • low durability on equipment

I'm going to talk about this durability icon. Now, this icon first appears when any piece of equipment has 40% durability or less. However, many players opt to use repair kits when their equipment is at 0 or close to 0 durability in order to save on repair costs. The problem with this is that players may miss the red fade in/out message informing them that their equipment has broken, and carry on in dungeons without realising that their gear is broken.

My suggestion is for this icon to appear red whenever equipment breaks, as stated in the title. This would give players a constant visual cue that their equipment is broken, as opposed to a transient one that may be missed.

#915687 What happens when two people trade the same item to each other

Posted by Brioche on 16 January 2015 - 16:52

A friend of mine wanted to trade a glim ruby for an item I had. Since I didn't really need that item, I had intended to give the item to him. What we had in trade window:

Me - 1x Phoenix Ashes, 1x Glimmering Ruby

Friend - 1x Glimmering Ruby

We both accepted trade.

What I got - 2x Glimmering Ruby

What he got - 1x Phoenix Ashes

On a whim, I decided to trade 1x Crafted Greater Stamina Potion for my friend's 1x Crafted Greater Stamina Potion.

Out of 20 tries:

11 times both of us got 1 each.

7 times I got 2, my friend got 0.

2 times my friend got 2, I got 0.

I also tried this with sacked resources.

I traded a sack of 90 Tattered Hides for my friend's sack of 63 Tattered Hides.

I received a sack of 100 Tattered Hides, my friend received a sack of 53 Tattered Hides.

#915593 Respeccing Revamped

Posted by Brioche on 16 January 2015 - 01:52

Right now, there are two problems I face whenever I want to respec.

1. I don't know if I can trust the talent descriptions of talents I've never used before.

Let's face it, HCS doesn't test the talents. They merely wait for player feedback about bugs before they take action.

Take Chilling for example. The description used to say "Increases the damage of Blizzard by 20/40% Spell DPS", but what it actually did was increase the damage of the spell by 20/40%. (Since Blizzard does 50% Spell DPS, that was 10/20% Spell DPS.) It wasn't discovered until someone felt that the damage was rather low and actually went to test it.

There have been numerous documented bugs about talents already, and there will be more if nobody tests them. However, I'm certainly not going to spend my precious 250ep just to test something that ought to have been tested already.

2. I don't know how talents interact with each other.

If two or more talents affect an ability, are the bonuses stacked additively or multiplicatively?

Impalement increases the damage of Impale by 50% Melee DPS. Bathe in Blood increases the damage of Impale by 30%. If I have points in both, does the 30% from Bathe in Blood affect the 50% Melee DPS from Impalement, or does the 30% just affect the base 80% Melee DPS from Impale?

Depending on the results, I might decide to spend my points elsewhere.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I know that test servers have been suggested before, and I still think it's a good idea. If that's not possible, then how about creating an in-game instance and call it The Respec Room or something?

Features of this Room:

You can freely add or take away attribute and talent points.
There are dummies with varying levels of armor for testing purposes. Dummies for attacking, dummies for healing.
Another area with Golems of 3 attack types. Base DPS of 1000, and your hp is restored after each hit.

Most importantly: when you leave the room, you are asked, "Would you like to keep the changes you have made and consume your Respec Cooldown?"

- No
- Yes (Respec Cooldown will be consumed and reset to 60 days)

--------------------------------------------------------------

If there was such a room, I definitely wouldn't mind helping HCS test the talents, and I'm sure there are many of us who would be willing to do it too :)
