#1003498 Game Update v3.1.0
Posted by tlthomasjr on 03 April 2021 - 05:48
I'd place a little more trust in the new Cow's (There are lots of them now) to have critically thought about it and applied change to be tested. There surely was more to the process.
It's about time we started to work with them, they even took the initiative to invite us to. This is what we wanted for years.
First, why quote my post connected to your reply? You neither supported, nor countered my point. Secondly, I, and many others did and do trust HCS (Cows) to both update and alter the game according to their design. Trust runs thin however when a few players voice concerns over the new updates, then HCS staff states that the new changes will be played for a while, then altered, adjusted, or nerfed as needed. Then, a single player's voice seems to rise above all other players, and even HCS staff's stated policy/objective, and we end up with that vision instead. Making a decision, watching that decision, and making adjustments as needed according to collected data and feedback (i.e. employing the OODA loop, for those who are educated in such processes), is a wise, sound, and proven methodology. Pandering the whims of the few, or the one, is counter intuitive to what made this game great so long ago. This will be my last posted opinion on the matter. MY feedback, and yours, and everyone else's was invited and I hope it will be given and considered. I respect yours and everyone else's opinions on this and all matters which are game related. I support the original HCS policy of "let's test the changes, and see where to go from there."

Thanks for the update and fixes Cows, however:
I am NOT a fan of rolling back buff levels that have been available for YEARS based on the continuous complaints of a handful of players (the same few names complain about this relentlessly).... The silent majority appear to be happy with them (yes, I could be wrong, but if they were unhappy they probably wouldn't be so silent).... Please rollback these rollbacks as they just pander to handful of players that want the game to be built around what THEY want, not what the majority are happy enough with to not complain...
PS - before anybody lays into me about pvp - I have spent plenty of time on the ladder and annoying as deflect/fumble 192 wee they were equally available to everyone... Rolling back is akin to starting on the path to a WIN button - how long before there are demands to nerf protective buffs entirely? *rolls eyes*
I saw a couple of players suggest a cap on buff levels, specifically SH being capped was mentioned. To which, HCS replied that things would be play tested a bit first, then (to paraphrase) to be possibly nerfed later. A single player responded, further saying that a cap should be placed on buffs like Fumble and SH. I actually agreed. But how did we get from a discussion about level caps caused by composing updates, to rolling back buffs that have existed at level 192 for years? Frankly, I don't care of you nerf Deflect, and Fumble, and a few others from the game entirely. What I don't like seeing is the pandering to a handful, or even one player's opinion.

- The skills Deflect, Fumble and Unbreakable are now capped at skill level 175 (see notes on this below)
Furthermore, due to the changes made to the skills Deflect, Fumble and Unbreakable, we will be entering a trial period where we can assess how this affects gameplay. For clarity, the affected buffs will no longer be boosted beyond 175 with skills like Buff Enhancer or the Fury Shrine structure, though it is still possible to acquire a higher level version of the skill through a potion (example: an Unbreakable 200 potion)so we had UB 190-192 for how many YEARS now and i dont ever remember seeing a thread about it damaging the game or destroying the scavenging unbreakable potion getting charged 2 fsp each. BUT now its caped. why not cap BE at 300 as leave things as they are.I agree. UB has been fine for years the way it was, and Deflect was as well. If deflect will be nerfed back to 175, then anti deflect needs the same lvl 175 cap. Additionally, if KE is capped at 350, why isn't Flinch?

Hey.
There's no one specific thread. It's been through many threads regarding sets over the years. When I create the next LE/Arena/Ladder suggestion thread, post there what you think you'd like to see.

Thanks. I don't go the the forum quite that often, where will i know when and where that is and will be? why don't we use the in game polling for stuff like this anymore? that seemed to work well when we used that

No, the change is down to feedback and some people feeling they were not worth inventing with so little durability. Increasing the cost is counter intuitive in such cases.
Ok BG, thanks for the replies. As awesome as Khalons was, it got very little use, even I wouldnt regularly use my forged set, now it has just replaced skull carvers as my main set with the increased durabilty, so perhaps you are right, and it will get more use now. But seriously, where are the postings to request new gear? I would like to post my suggestions there as well.
Thanks again for making what i feel is an excellent pvp set even better

Because more and more players requested it. While there's loads of Att/Dam sets out there, there's less Armour or Defence out there and we've seen a rise in requests for it, especially both on the same set. So we're bringing as many options as we can across all levels.
Ok. Where are the more and more players requesting this gear? Perhaps I can make some requests there as well, for some PvP sets that make sense. I just hope my opponents are the ones wearing it, will make tokens a lot easier to earn.
Thank you for the increased durability of Khalons anyway, I can wear the forged ones now. Did the cost in tokens greatly increase for 6 times the durabilty?

I have only seen the the Hototos, and Androkles so far, why defense armor? I wish I hadn't even wasted the gold on one of each for the recipes. I won't be inventing, or using, either set.
And wasn't the purpose of the low durability of these sets to keep the number of tokens in the game down by consumables? Like the potions?
I am not really complaining about the durability change, it will now be worth forging the non def/armor ones, but I hope the token cost to invent them increased accordingly.
#961617 Updated and New Arena Potions
Posted by tlthomasjr on 01 April 2016 - 17:37
I don't have any use for those evade, fortify, or aura of protection buffs, i wouldn't swear to it, but i think very few players have many of their lup's anywhere other than attack, or damage.
I like also the absorb potion that is proposed.
I would like to see a bit higher guild buffer potion, and i think if there were higher level than can be gotten by buffs for merchant, and treasure hunter, and they were bound, it might give a few non pvp players an incentive to try pvp a little if only for a better hunt.
and i would like to see some of the pvp and pvp ladder related buffs as potions of higher level there, like Shame, Retaliate, Bastion, deflect, erosion, and of course, gloat.
Thanks very much, i loved all of what was changed and added in this update

#950253 New Arena Sets!
Posted by tlthomasjr on 01 October 2015 - 17:38
I still have at least a half dozen sets to plug in above 1000. But it's all a juggling act to decide which ones will be added first.
If there are specific combos you'd like to see in certain ranges, feel free to let us know. It's not a guarantee that they'd appear but it's certainly helpful for me to see!
A level 1k or 1100'ish rune/ammy set, preferably in def/dmg would be great. same level range armor damage helm/weapon or glove weapon would be great also, and different than what commonly enters the game now.
I miss the old days where clever kit building was more possible due to near infinite set options.
Thanks for all of the new sets yet again.

#948481 New PvP Ladder Items!
Posted by tlthomasjr on 12 September 2015 - 18:48
I first want to say, thank you to HCS, and everyone who gives their input here. I rarely do.
I absolutely love this new khalons lvl 1000 set. I am wearing it now, and love the stam gain without being defenseless in epics.
I also love and agree with the extreme low durability as it will eat up tokens reinventing destroyed sets.
But that also does stop most, or at least me as i am not rich, players from forging the set. just too expensive at this level to waste it.
So in my opinion, the set should be at least as powerful as its forged same level counterparts. Normal crystalline of the same lvl is usually always higher stat total than comparable non-crystal sets of the same lvl.
I will keep wearing mine just as it is, and thank you again so much for new stuff to play with.
