You cannot join a guild before the expiry time of the conflict initiated by your previous guild while you were a member.
just a suggestion can you add in something so we know when the gvg ends ?

It's been suggested a couple of times. I think it's important.
Oh, and I think it's important even though I've been in the same Guild since level 19, ie, never switched.

sounds like a good idea just extremely low on the priority list of the cows. maybe if they do a general update day .. it could be a line item.

This rule was initiated to prevent folks from cheating at pillow fighting. There used to be folks that bounced from guild to guild as hired guns just for GvG purposes. They'd make their hits (wasn't a limit then either), leave that guild, and move on to the next one, which caused chaos due to all kinds of difficulties (offhand, I would say they were possibly the only viable target, they moved to the opposing guild of the last guild, stuff like that). All this in the pursuit of a handful of dots. Well, this not only caused lots of confusion and whining, but there were whispers of certain guilds high on that ladder that were padding their stats by having a team that would bounce back and forth between "opposing" guilds (These are merely rumors I heard mind, you, I have no direct knowledge of this.). Anywho, this is why that rule stands today. It really doesn't hamper anyone's gameplay, unless you're a guild hopper or a potential pillow fighting cheat

There must be a way around this for players who had no idea what they were getting into?
I want to join a new guild and it wont let me and I have absolutely no idea how long it will take?

Not like its going to take a year. Its a day, at max.
But I agree, a counter would be nice. For folks that need it.

Look on the conflict page....it tells you when it ends!!
You dont have access to a conflict page if you leave a guild
