There are some quest items, i'd like to know if there is (or will be) any use of :

Teachers Robe (from a Nidaros quest)

Crimson Macabre Shirt (Crimson Threat)

Spy Telescope (Crimson Threat)

Focused Staff of Redemption (Curing the Plagued)

Focused Blade of Mercy (Culling the Plagued)

Are these items only filling my bank stash ?

Maybe HCS should remove the "Quest Item" Status after the last quest stage they are needed.

The NPC you get the telescope from asks for it back once you've done your spying. Considering that the Plague quest books aren't finished yet, I'd say the sword and staff still have a role to play. As for the shirt and the robe, no idea.

Another quest item that also hangs around is the Bonedigger's journal you get from the plagued in/around the Cragmyst Ravine and cave.

Hmm. The racketeer never asked his telescope back from me.

I've no idea what happened to the Bonedigger's Journal. It seems it's gone for good

nice question there,

id really like to know if we can destroy the robe and the shirt.

they did take back my telescope too so your not suppose to have it

In a quest level 35 (maybe "the barrel of laugh" im not sure) you will need the blade of mercy and/or the staff of redemption BUT they gave me new ones in the quest, so, for a short moment i had 2 of each. i dont know if it will be like this in real game or they did that cause of the debug coin and some players have never done the quests where we got the blade and the staff...

I haven't finished all those quest lines yet...but I'm saving them all just in case there's a progression.  The Teacher's Robe I'm saving just for the aesthetics, but the others I think may have usefulness in quests later on.

I kept my plague and crimson gear in my bank stash since the quest lines arent finished yet. However when these last levels came out (30-35) when I did the plague quest they gave me new plague gear.

I think the idea is that you can always get quest items replaced in game so the Cows don't have to do it themselves through help tickets. :D

The shirt is useful even when not doing crimson quests.  It will let you walk through almost all crimson camps freely.  Much easier then going around.  I've only found one group so far that will aggro despite the shirt.

As with the quest, if you attack anything, even a level 1 critter, the crimson will aggro.

It's a shame we can't use the teacher's robe/crimson shirts in the vanity chest slot, even if they were non-functional there.

I asked if we could use any item in those slots. same reasoning that all effects be taken away. would make for some more interesting looking people out there, haha

The Teacher's Robe was deliberately left in (before we got vanity slots) because it looked pretty good when worn. The Crimson Macabre Shirt, I'm not positive about, but you haven't finished their quest book yet. The Spy Telescope is likely to be an oversight.

The Staff of Redemption and the Blade of Mercy will be upgraded later in their respective storylines.

It is worth bearing in mind that any items you destroy will be able to be reclaimed later if they're needed in a quest. You shouldn't be able to destroy items and be unable to continue. If that ever happens it's a bug and we'd have a fix out for it pretty quickly.

That's a pretty good idea. I'll see what the rest of the team thinks about this. :)

I will also mention that a few quests will allow you to complete it even if you don't have the quest item in your bags to return to the NPC. This is so if you've banked or destroyed it, the quest doesn't make it frustrating to finish. As a result you may well be left with leftover quest parts.

you can steal another crimson shirt if need be . I was also left with the telescope . As far as i know you can get replacement quest items - you just need to return a step back to the last character.

That would be really cool.   I am a clothie, and I mostly wear linen stuff I have crafted myself.  It's powerful, but sorta drab. I would love the visual of going around in the teacher's robe:

"Hello evil mobs, I am your substitute teacher, and I am here to teach you about the power of MY MAGIC!!!" -

I asked if we could use any item in those slots. same reasoning that all effects be taken away. would make for some more interesting looking people out there, haha

Even better - and probably simpler to implement than doing it by special case.

This has probably been mentioned elsewhere, but being able to use any armor piece in the vanity slots (LotRO does this) would be very nice. It helps keep everyone from looking like medieval hobos and also gets more mileage out of quickly outdated armor sets, like the the low level relic armors.

Please do it for all items. Just remove any stats for them being worn there :)

In fact, it encourages completing them, just for the looks, even after the utility of having a full set aimed at a certain level of play has passed.  Does anyone know what the sets do when completed?  I sure don't.  Normally, sets are associated with end-game play, but I hear that HCS does not cater to "end-game", and just keeps expanding quest story-lines and adding levels endlessly. (This tidbit was conveyed to me by someone who was into Sigma Storm in a big way.)  There are pros and cons to this, but it certainly nerfs the value of building a set for utility.

One of their other games Fallensword they keep adding too. Sigmastorm was the same before they stopped adding anything to it. They have said in the past though that Eldevin will have a lvl50 cap with End game content there. But that is only on release, who know how they will expand on that.

When completed sets provide bonus attributes in addition to the stats on the gear.

Eldevin will have an extensive end-game at 50, including daily quests, improved crafting, dungeons, PvP, reputations, gems and more, however we will continue to release content updates and features.

We have a content team and a feature team so neither one of these things will slow down development of the other.
