@Toreth... fully agree with the FS Forum being an incorrect outlet for game decisions. That's my point from stage one. 

 

Josh and Lahona seemed to argue against extrapolation which I fully agree with.

 

So, we're stuck with what's here. I don't see HCS properly posting an in-game poll on this with less than a week to go.

 

The real idea behind those "stats" I posted is the fact that there is zero reason to be discussing a date change with respect to the 2XP launch date. 

 

Hoof posted and then disappeared. Can only assume he'll come back at some point and read through all this. 

 

Money... for me that's fine that it runs the game. It's funny cuz some peeps often accuse FS of being PTW. To me, that's an utterly ridiculous idea. Nobody in my 10 years+ of FS experience has "won". 

 

Well, I could say that BotDL has won as being the first and only Guild to complete all 5 GAs, but that would just be a plug (come join! lmao). But yeah, won? Won what?

 

I do agree that the cows need to buckle their legs to the money. But some limits have to be placed somewhere or integrity gets lost.

 

I'm not too sure that the 9 voting for a change in an officially announced launch date are the only ones who pay in game. One of them has already contacted me and openly said they don't care. What that player is most worried about is the donation date on the special offer being cut short. 

 

A good number of players (ok, honestly, a few) have suggested that they are NOT going to buy the offer because it will arrive after the event. 

 

Way back at the beginning, I suggested allowing an option to choose a delivery date and the option of bringing that forward to the December 15 start date. Heck, I can say that in the past, I donated to the offer to then distribute FSP as Xmas presents. I have also received Xmas presents from donations.... that to me is the "point". 

 

Now, I'm thinking to not even bother. The offer is, like the ad says, the best ever. Seriously, have peeps looked at those pots? And yeah, forget about the pots. Forget that you get one free for every $30 bucks... forget about the Allegiance Tokens. We are talking twice as many FSP for the same dollar amount. Are donators really gonna pass that up?

Just to make things even crazier... we were laughing in our Guild Chat about all this silliness. I actually joked about a pay-for-4XP offer. 

 

Then, all of a sudden, a guildie said:

Maybe we could do 2 x 48 hour events this year instead? That might actually give more people a chance to take part (i.e) 48 hours starting on Friday 22nd shortly after the Christmas Special Offer is delivered and then maybe another 48 hours between Christmas and New Year. Thoughts?

• leave the xp date 15th of december for 96 hours
• start delivering fsps and potions at 15th december but leave the christmas special offer open as it is (until 22th december)

I am hunting on the third day, do not have time before that and some of us get their bonus christmas paycheck in the middle of the month

 

some of us are still deciding how many offers to buy, this is the best offer so far and buy many to last for next year

Just make the doubler Exp event run for 7 days, from the 16th - 23rd and deliver the boxes and fsp on the 22nd. 

 

 

1. This gives everyone a chance to partake in the Event

Then everyone gets their hunt when it suits, and probably more people inclined to purchase the packages.

 

Though as is the nature of this forum, it would start a whole new war of +'s and -'s.

Thought it was totally crazy myself... and fully agree. 8 players causing an uproar and for Hoof to come in on the weekend... wow!  

 

Only caveat to your addition is that it would have to be issued on December 15.

 

Like the 2018 expiry both for the pot in mailboxes and its use.

 

I still can't see with 8 "votes" (sorry 9 according to my free work, but one of those was a "maybe" and has told me they don't care, though they somehow don't agree that a game announcement on the 2XP launch date is binding).

 

I think that HCS has done a nice job responding to the community on this. Now time to leave things as were. They have already made clear that, at least on this, they're listening.

Personally don’t believe HCS should have to move anything for anyone. I will be short of stamina due to it being on the 15th that’s my fault not HCS fault... I order fsps from this offer before I thought to figure out it wouldn’t be here before double xp event.. that’s my fault for not taking the time t figure that out. Definitely not HCS fault.. there 100% forsure should NOT be 2 Double exp events that’s just greedy to want and selfish 1 should be plenty. I suppose I have posted in forums once on this topic so this will be my last post on this topic. No to moving the date or delivery of fsps but if one should be moved it should be the payout of the offers...

Just my honest opinion.... again....

But we’ll find out soon enough..

Lol, running statistics on like 20 people.  That is a sample from a very small group.  You want real statistics, why not run an in game poll?  It's been done before.  I have a sneaking suspicion that there are going to be more than 8 votes for delivering the holiday before the start of the event.

If we can stop counting on the 8 (9) votes for and 13 votes against, that would be wonderful. It's not statistical in any capacity. It's simple when it comes to what the general "correct thinking" decision should be.

 

Logically, from HCS's standpoint, they'd have the 2x XP directly following (or simultaneously starting) with the delivery of the FSP and the presents. They are still a company, after all.

 

They announced something on the homepage. Whoop-de-do - such posts (and decisions) can be amended based on what the general population wants.

 

Also, while the in-game poll sounds like a good idea, with the 15th approaching in less than a week, I'm not sure the poll would be long enough at this point to collect all the data needed from each person who will be participating in the events.

In light of all the discussion above, my opinion of a solution is to keep the 2xp event on the 15th as already scheduled and to deliver the Christmas boxes and FSPs on the same day (before the event actually starts). And then continue the same Christmas Special Offer offer further until the  22nd, also as scheduled. This way little change is required, and the majority of fallensworders - and HCS - are reasonably happy!

Want them early take them and get 10-20% less or 1 week event who cares or proceed as planned. Not that tough a decision imo. From a business stand point event should run through fsp delivery
